VINCE VISIT THE HALL
Vince made his final decision not wanting to contemplate any longer, already feeling confused. "Okay, I will take it."
Looking at the ring while Robin demonstrates how to open the ring right under the diamond. "You see Vince, she could use it as a pendant for the chain, and also use it as her wedding ring."
Thinking, 'She could always have it with her, well, that is if we do get married, which I am also hoping won't happen, she is so against this marriage.
But I better be prepared before GP become angry and collapsed, then everyone will blame me.'
"Robin, thank you, this should be perfect and I don't want to hold you back any longer."
Walking out of the store feeling someone clings their hand to his, looking down, "Chrystal, what are you doing here?"
"I saw your car and decided to search you out, are you going somewhere?"
"I came to return the ring, I got you."
Wanting so much to pacify him, "Honey, I am so sorry but Vanda was telling me that you are just marrying this girl to please GP?"
"Yes, that is quite true but what difference would it make to you?"
Seeing how angry he was Chrystal tries her best to soothe his heart, "Vince honey, believe me when I say this, there is no need to worry, you can keep the ring and as soon as you get a divorce, we could get married."
Pushing her hand aside, "Sorry, I already return it, now if you will excuse me, I have an errand to run."
Still angry with her for rejecting him, and because of her rejection, I am in this predicament.
Chrystal was not ready to accept defeat though matter what he says, unsatisfied with his words, she clings on to him once more, she said in a coquettish and very tempting tone, "Honey, I can accompany you, I am not busy, I can ride along with you and we can talk things out."
Vince looked at her knowing she was his choice but she betrayed him, yet his love for her is unmeasurable, Knowing if things work out as he plan they will reunite. Gradually his anger dissipated as he asks, "Where is your car, park?"
Chrystal knew his anger had sufficed a bit, smiling up to him, "Honey, I parked my car by Daddy's store."
"Okay, I will be glad for the company; I just want to check around a few halls to make the reservations for Saturday."
"Vince honey, to get a hall at such short notice, will be difficult and it will cost you extra for making last-minute reservations."
"What are you worrying your pretty head about, I know that, but in this society money talks. Right now I don't have a choice, with GP not well, and as you know I cannot cancel the wedding. If I find a nice place he will surely think that I am keeping my promise, and it will help to relieve some tension from GP. Also, it will make him think I agree to this ludicrous arrangement of his."
Recalling Haley saying that the Hall is next to the huge supermarket, near Fantasy church. Driving a few miles away from the town, seeing the signboard, Haley's Hall.
Driving inside the compound, it was big and it had enough parking spaces. The hall was erected in the middle of the compound.
Chrystal held onto Vince's hand, "Wow, Vince this hall looks extravagant, but how did you come to know about this Hall? It might be impossible to get any reservation, come along let us speak to someone, it seems as though they are having a wedding today?"
"Chrystal, wait a minute."
"Why Vince, it has people inside, I am sure it has someone who could help us." 'Ooh my goodness, to have another confrontation with her for the third time will be annoying, and she already irritates the hell out of me.
'It was too late, seeing her walking out of the hall, she was smiling, which looks good on her and she seems happy with the person next to her.
Paying attention to what she was wearing now. 'This morning when she visited my home, she was wearing a dress she went to church with.
But this white turtle neck jersey and black dress pants look lovely on her. With everything that happens earlier when she returns home. I was so worried about her mom and wasn't looking at her closely.'
Seeing her heading out she was wearing a chain now. 'Did she lie to me and purposely dress that way to sway me from agreeing to this wedding? Oh my goodness, she is much too smart for her own good, but she looks lovely now her face is glowing as she smiles, looking at her without her glasses she is beautiful and her wearing is so very simple.'
With Chrystal clinging to his hand calling out to her, she turns and looks at us. Her smile was still there making her face lit up, "Yes Ma'am, can I help you?"
When Chrystal said, "My friend and I were wondering, if we could view the inside of the hall, we want to make a reservation."
"Sure, go right ahead, just don't touch anything."
"Can you tell us, if we can get the hall for next Saturday?"
When she looks at me, then Chrystal, this time she looks at Chrystal from head to toe, smiling even more pleasantly, before she said, "Why don't you see if the place is to your satisfaction and liking, then we could discuss any other business?
Now if you will excuse me, I have something to do and will be back in a while. Oh, and Sir, you need to move your car, the bridal party will be here next five minutes."
"Chrystal, you go ahead, and I will move the car."
Following her to the entrance, but before I could touch her, she said, "That's far enough Mr Montgomery."
"I haven't done anything yet and you already stopping me, I can't wait for when we get married."
Seeing the way she turns around to face him, Vince knew she was angry already, when she said a litter louder than a whisper, "You really don't get it."
"Will you please explain to me what is it that I didn't get, Miss Bell?"
"Are you mocking me?" She snapped at him.
"Me, what have I done? It seems our communication keeps getting crossed," Vince sees how angry she becomes just like that first day when our head bounces into each other.
THIS MIGHT BE THE MIRACLE
Stepping away from Vince covering her ears, "Just do me a favour and kindly stay the hell away from me, that will make my life much happier, I am tired, and my day is not complete yet."
Turning to the sound of the young lady that was with him, "Vince honey, the place is fabulous."
"There you go, someone, is ready to be at your side, take her to your grandfather and get his approval, this might be the miracle we were discussing earlier. I don't care just stay away from me.
And MR. Montgomery tries and doesn't throw this chance away, because we may never get another chance to be free from each other again. God must have heard our conversation earlier in the day and is answering us."
With Crystal clinging to his hand once more, Sidney, walks away, "Honey, what is wrong?"
Seeing her turn around and raise her hand with her thumb finger up, then get in a waiting taxi, she seems happy to see me with Chrystal. Even her smile was pleasant once again. It is like the weather, it changes to suit the mood.
She was right though, as soon as I move my car there was a fluxion of vehicles driving in causing chaos.'
"Darling, come quickly and view the place before all these people spoil the view, it's just fabulous, and GP, will be so proud of you if it's available."
Recalling what her mom said, 'That the hall is there and it will not cost anything; I must offset the caterers though and this is a good business. The location is perfect, I never thought they had a business seeing their house at first.'
With Chrystal urging him to hurry, Vince enters the hall seeing the roses in huge vases at the corners and the front, it was beautifully arrayed making the hall feels homely and very welcoming.
Also, the roses were in arches along the sidewalk on both sides of the wall. The fragrance from the rose has filled the hall, it smells just like when I touch her.'
Taking a few deep breaths loving the smell of the roses. Something about the fragrance of the roses refreshes my mind and calms my vegetation. Vince took some pictures to show Vanda the silhouette, it was most pleasing and magnificent.
Knowing GP had already seen the place and the girl, there was no need to show him but he will be pleased to see I got her the ring.
Recalling her smile as it flashes through his mind, also her anger and rage. 'Boy, I am in for real trouble. She is like a tempest that's uncontrollable, what has GP gotten me into?'
With Chrystal in the car chattering, Vince felt like a headache was coming on, not knowing if the confrontation with Sidney was causing it or if Chrystal rattling on and on.
Dropping out Chrystal by her father's store, she strokes his face, "Honey, you are letting these wedding jitters bring about unnecessary tension. Now I want you to stop worrying," bending she kisses his lips.
"Oh my goodness Vince, you didn't wait to speak with the lady to know if you can get the reservation for next week?"
"Never mind that Chrystal, I got the number and will call, but this decision of GP is driving me out of my mind."
"Look there's no need to let this wedding irritate you, it's just for a few months, and you have my full support, as soon as our plan is executed and the young lady gets a divorce, then we could get married.
"You are right," driving away thinking, 'For the third time of the day Sidney has infuriated him, and she keeps getting under his skin. Why is that? From the moment I met her, we keep disagreeing which gives me a headache now?'
But as he drives along with the quietness in the car, Vince realized the throbbing pain he was experiencing after they left the Hall was gradually leaving.
Taking a few deep breaths, he knew immediately he was getting a headache because of Chrystal's nonstop chattering.
Vince had so many questions bombarding his mind, but this one question stands out, 'Women like me a lot, when I am at the club, they keep shouting my name, telling me they love me, so why didn't Sidney and I hit it off? I could see she hates me, yet I try to do everything to get her approval or is it GP's approval? Oh God the two of them are driving me crazy.'
Reaching home was worse than facing Sidney a few times during the day. Hearing Charles, Vanda, and Aunty Myrtle quarrelling about this sudden decision GP made concerning my marriage.
Walking up to them, saying, "Will you all stop this quarrelling, suppose GP hears you all and gets another heart attack?"
"But Vince, your grandpa is wrong in pushing you into this wedding." Aunty Myrtle said angrily.
"Look Aunty Myrtle, GP has every right to do what he is doing, he is the only parent I know. And if this will make him happy, I have no objection and will abide by his decision."
"So, what if he brings in a gold digger into the house, will you go along with this foolish plan of his?"
Pondering from deep within, 'If only the family knew she doesn't want to join our family, and she has her own business. Money and house don't seem to bother her, from what I have learned about her for the day.'
Saying, "It's GP's decision and everything here belongs to him anyhow, we are just living in his house and enjoying all the benefits and luxuries, so why should we complain?"
"Vince, what nonsense you are talking about, you are the one maintaining the business and making the money."
"It's not nonsense Vanda; GP, owns everything, Uncle Richard, and Uncle Myles knows that? Also Aunty Joyce, Remmy, Carlos, and the kids. We all live here under his rules, and what are you all fussing about? it is not you that is getting married? It is I, and I have no objection, now the wedding is already set for next week, and I don't want to hear another word about it, especially when GP is around."
