Unit2317 wanted permission to intervene on behalf of the council, Phosphoro's was interfering with humans and that should have given him the right as an enforcement member to step in. The collective and the council were both denying him saying there was no evidence even when presented with evidence. He was informed that if he got involved with the humans he would be guilty of insubordination.
'I don't know why the council Is being complicit with this but I will have to support the humans but what will it cost me?' He knew what he had to do. Unit2317 officially left the collective, the first Valtaui to do so in history.
'I will be known as Littleman from now on' He was no longer unit2317 he was Littleman. Littleman called in his warship to come and guard the golden chariot. Now the 4 children had made it to the meeting room.
Littleman removed the tracking band off of Null wrist. "We have to prepare to go all out, I want everyone in their suits as soon as possible, then we can plan the next move."
"huh?" Null was confused
"The collective and the council are not willing to get involved. This means Phosphoros must have a high-level backer. Make no mistake this is an assassination attempt. Phosphoros has broken council law and if he doesn't get the job done I'm sure he will be punished by whoever is backing him" stated Littleman.
This was all the discussion they needed to go get suited up and prepare for whatever was coming.
"Unit2317, What will be the consequences for this?" asked Vark, he knew they were about to go against the council, but he was also disappointed that the council wasn't doing its job.
"It just Littleman now, I have resigned from the collective. The probabilities are not in our favor. I think if we survive this and can gather enough evidence Unit Zero might intervene but the chances are low. The most likely outcome is death for all of us" stated a sombre Littleman.
Vark was concerned if Phosphoros had never shown himself to be the one to orchestrate the live ammunition then they would have assumed it was a Martian plot. It seemed very sloppy of Phosphoros. He couldn't discern what Phosphoros true motives were, there were easier methods to assassinate the boys'.
Littleman was having the same thoughts but he was more concerned about what the next move would be when he received a message from his ship automated sensors. 'so that's he's move, this will be interesting'.
Lisa and the children all returned to the meeting room with all their equipment on.
"It seems Phosphoros has made his move, but it looks like he didn't expect you to be able to escape. My ship had detected multiple demon drop pods heading towards the competition dome. Demon's themselves are a tier-7 race making natural first contact so technically we can't intervene" Littleman started the briefing.
"There nothing natural about this first contact surely Phosphoros is directing them, he even calls them his demons" Chris was annoyed with always being restricted.
"I agree, but the council won't see it that way. I don't know who is backing Phosphoros but they must be confident if they are willing to defy the Paragons." Said Littleman
"how do you know it's not the Paragons?" asked Lisa, she was curious how he was so sure.
"That's because I was the one tasked with eliminating Null and Infy when the time came, they are still quite far away from the threshold the Paragons had set before that would happen." Stated Littleman without much emotion as if he was speaking about what game he was about to play.
"Demons, we go fight, yes?" Null was so excited at having something to fight he couldn't even talk in complete sentences.
Littleman could sense his excitement and wanted to channel it into a useful direction.
"Yes, we need to collect evidence and make it so visible that it can't be ignored. I will be blocking the field sensors and I will try to interfere with the interference spell that has been set up. This will delay any response by the council. I say we go all out and save as many lives as we can. I will record everything but won't get directly involved myself unless Phosphoros takes direct action. We might be able to claim self-defence."
"Can I use my hybrid mode and spells?" asked Infy, he wanted to see if they could really go all out
"yes" this was all they need to hear.
"YES!" Null was ready, playing pretend soldiers had got him all worked up without any release. He didn't even wait to see what the plan was and had fully transformed and was concentrating hard. They managed to teleport the Golden chariot into low Mars orbit.
"What are you doing, you beardless rust eater!? Why bring us here we don't have any weapons" Vark wanted to try to keep himself and the dwarfs out of the fight to lessen the consequences.
"Lisa will need the sensors to feed us the correct information for Chris to make decisions" stated Infy matter of factly. They arrive just after the demons had made landfall. Their dropships had attached themselves to the dome and were sending waves of demons.
The demons were horned red-skinned humanoids with bat-like wings. That had been equipped with advanced shields and melee weapons that resembled claws. The group believed it was unlikely they had created the technology they were using.
The Martians were overwhelmed first an asteroid just appeared in the sky and now they were being overrun by the demons. The Martians weapons were useless against the Demons shields. They were starting to crowd around any of the defensible structures trying to avoid the claws of the demons. The competitors weren't the only ones in the dome there were also numerous other military officials.
Lukia had been doing quite well, he realised that he would need to use hand to hand combat and had already taken out three demons with his knife, but had received a large wound to his shoulder in the process. He had used the instant clot sachet from the first aid kit on it to stop the bleeding but the demon had severed a tendon making it impossible for him to use his left arm. "Dammit why didn't anyone tell us we were this outmatched"
While that was happening the party was making a few final preparations before heading to the battlefield.
When the time came Null and Infy teleported both Jania and Chris to the battlefield. They quickly enacted their plan. Null and Infy in their hybrid form were flying around the field throwing out 1000's of location markers. The boys' had upgraded and improved their old blink spell and mixed it with the return spell. Each marker would use sensors to decide if an area was safe to teleport to and report that back to the central location which then report that back to each AI.
This allowed for Jania, Chris and Null to Blink all over the battlefield. Chris was currently using this ability to gather groups together. Once he had a group he would use the return spell to call in a defensive shield and box of melee weapons. Littleman wasn't directly taking part in this battle, but he still had a materialiser on his warship, so he had quickly built the items required using Null and Infy designs.
Chris had made it to the location that had General Alexander and Lukia. "Do you have anything that could heal this?" asked Lukia pointing to his left arm.
"No, we don't have any healing gear, it's not something we are good at sorry" Chris was thinking they would need to research into that some more.
"Hopefully this will be over soon and we can get you to a hospital"
While they were chatting the battlefield was a scene of absolute carnage. Jania was already laughing and in her berserker mode blinking all over the battlefield decapitating demons with her scythe at every blink. She would have to stop from time to time to let her power storage recharge.
Null and Infy were currently glowing gold, everyone on the battlefield was in awe, it had seemed like an angel had descended from Heaven to bring righteous justice to the demons. He had his Partisan in its duel wield configuration. If they got surrounded they would cast push to make room for themselves.
Everywhere he went death followed. They were starting to get the upper hand, the demons outnumbered them and even had some good equipment but they were completely outclassed by the two young humans.
Phosphoros had to change the situation and he did with a well time spell of his own. He used his spirit projection to Stun Jania for just a few milliseconds but this was enough time so that she failed to avoid an incoming slash to her back.
Chris and Null both saw what was happening but had no way to intervene. Seeing Jania get injured had caused a shift in both boys attitudes but something had snapped inside of Infy, Null and Infy shared a soul so shared emotions. This time the emotion was rage but while Null was keeping it contained Infy had decided to release it all.
The boys' golden glow was now pitch black and from the wings were these black whip-like vines that attacked the nearby demons turning them into dust. The aura being produced by the boys' was so bloodthirsty that every human in the dome was currently terrified. Some peed their pants, others fainted and some tried to escape.
"That looks like Azael death song, if that hits my soul projection I won't survive!"
