It would take a couple of days for The Eous to get inside the boundary of the Ollhelian home system of Helian. They had calculated the trajectory that gave the lowest probability of running into any Elven scouts. This gave Jania time to contemplate her new life. She took stock of everything that had happened and to try progress some of her gains.
She was happy for the first time in her life. The Super-soldier program had drilled into her that she and her life were just a tool for the military to use. Once her scores started to decline she had felt like she had failed at her life purpose. Jania had been brainwashed so thoroughly that she could never see how toxic that environment had been.
Since leaving Mars and starting the new journey she had made a boyfriend even if he was the only option in a million miles. She had also found a pair of strange defacto younger brothers and a role model to look up to in Lisa.
She had developed a new purpose in life, she was no longer the disposable tool. She now had something to protect, be it her boyfriend, or the weird adopted younger brothers. She had promised herself that this mission would succeed no matter the cost.
Ollhelian was part of the Helian system. The Helian system only had 3 planets that orbited around a medium-sized yellow star. Ollhelian was the 1st planet in the system and was perfectly situated to make it habitable to humans and similar aliens. It was slightly smaller than Earth but had an atmosphere with more oxygen making it perfect for large lifeforms. The other two planets were massive gas giants that shared an orbit. The plan was to use one of these giants as cover and come at the planet from a pole.
All of the countermeasures had so far been a success and Jania had made it into lower orbit where she left a satellite to try and gather some data about the planet. If you didn't know better you would assume it was uninhabited as there were no signs of advanced life. The planet was covered in vast amounts of heavily wooden forest. It was suspected that inside of these forests is where the elves had made their home.
Yet Jania had not found anything, there were no ships or defences in orbit that she could see. Nothing about this planet made sense. Jania was scanning for anything that could indicate the locations of the arkships or other humans.
If Littleman hadn't said it himself she wouldn't believe this was the location she was supposed to visit. ' I have to assume they are cloaked, I doubt this planet has been left defenceless. I will have to find a way around stealth field if I am to get useful information on this trip.'
Sadly she wasn't a scientist or a genius like the boys', so she hadn't been able to do anything even after maxing out her implant, she had Leia analysing the data hoping to see some patterns. Jania was tempted to break out of stealth and force a reaction so that she could gather any type of information.
Jania was a physically strong woman, but still had the mind of an inexperienced adolescent child the lack of results and the loneliness had taken a toll on her mental health. She couldn't help but break down into fits of uncontrollable sobbing. She had promised herself to make this mission a success and she couldn't even start it. Some super-soldier she turned out to be.
She just wanted to go home, or even have some company. It had been a long time since she was truly alone, and that was when they were experimenting on her back at mars. Those memories had also now come flooding back which on help increase her internal turmoil.
"Oh, little one what the matter" the strange voice had startled Jania, she quickly assumed a fighting posture believing she had been found by the elves.
"That won't help you here, relax" the voice was coming from a small floating light.
"Now tell me what the matter". Maybe it was the sincerity in the voice or the loneliness, she broke down and explained to the ball of light that she was here to do a mission and she couldn't even start and that she was a failure of a person.
"you seek the others of your kind?"
"Yes, do you know where they are?" Jania didn't know why she was trusting this odd ball of light.
"Follow me, you will see but be warned, the spirits of this planet have forbidden all forms of violence".
Jania had no better option so decided to ball of light, it reminded her of one of the creatures Chris would often talk about. A Will-o-Wisp, sadly she couldn't remember if they were beneficial or not.
She follow it along an unknown path that seemed to be in the forest. She couldn't help but admire the scenery around her, she hadn't seen such trees in her short life and now that she wasn't worried about her mission she could look.
Jania hadn't noticed the subtle changes in her mentality and was happily following the light, it was like the light had hypnotised her. She was moving along and the light had gone into the cave and she was about to follow when she was tackled by a young girl.
"Don't follow the light, everything in the forest lies!" said the young girl in perfect solar standard.
The contact had woken Jania out of her trace, she turned around to look at the person who had tackled her. She saw a young blond hair, blue eye girl about the age of 12-13 wearing a worn-out vac suit.
"Who are you?" Jania asked, warily she had trusted the light when she shouldn't have.
"Oh, hi hi I am Kikei, Ships technical officer for Arkship two. You're here to rescue us right?" Kikei was now bouncing up and down.
"It's complicated, how do I know you're not lying?"Jania was concerned after her last encounter, that she was being too naïve about the dangers on a new planet. She still wasn't sure if the girl had saved her.
"Uhm, you can't, but I'm not. Maybe you lead the way. By the way, how did you get here so fast, are you human, you look human but we don't have the technology to get here, maybe we had a breakthrough in the last 10 years, I like your hair, oh that suit of your looks awesome, if I couldn't sense you I would have never found you" Kikei was excited to meet another human that she had just let out a tsunami of words at poor Jania.
Jania didn't know what to answer first, she hadn't even considered that she had been in stealth mode so should have been invisible. There was something about this girl that didn't feel exactly normal, but not in a bad way.
