"very soon" Elara answered with a sad expression.
"good, leave your spare key behind when you leave" she said and walked out of the kitchen with her drink in her hand.
Elara watched her walk back upstairs, her heart felt sour and her eyes started to get dewy. she always wished to know what it would have been like if she was loved by her mother but that seemed to be impossible. Thanks to her father's occasional visits or else she would never have understood the feeling of family.
The only motherly love she ever got was from her grandmother. Her father's mother was a really good companion through out her childhood. remembering the old woman made Elara begin missing her.
"I wonder if father know where grandma is" she thought as she niffled back the tears that wanted to fall. Her grandma lived closeby to them but had taken a trip few months ago and didn't say where she was going
Beep! Beep!
Her phone vibrated in her pocket, she stopped eating and brought it out, a small smile appeared on her lips when she saw who the message was from. It was from her bestfriend Jacob, they attended high school together and. we're really close that most people thought they were dating.
"have you left Sunflare city?" his text read.
"nope not yet but about to" she quickly sent back.
It didn't take a second and he sent a reply "I wish I could pick you up at the airport, but I'm currently not in Oakswood at the moment, will you be alright on your own?"
"yeah I'll be okay besides my dad is going to pick me up" Her dad had helped her get an admission in one of the popular University in Oakswood, so from on she was going to be living with her father and step-brothers.
"Okay Bunny, make sure you take care of yourself okay" she smiled then replied "yeah yeah, you too pudon".
Jacob was a very caring best befriend, he was very kind and considerate towards her while some times too he behaved like an overprotective and possessive boyfriend.
she finished eating then did the dishes before going to pack her stuff and head for the airport.
****
somewhere in Nivelle Town, not too far from Oakswood, in a French styled house, the music boomed loudly into the ears of people present. The back of the house was filled with a lot of people most of which were girls, some were dressed in exposing bikinis or swimming outfits.
Several people were dancing to the music while others were swimming on the lake. while the pool merriment was going on a group of guys stayed upstairs to have their own fun.
"Olcan it's uncle Vuk...your father" a brunette boy exclaimed and passed a buzzing phone to another silver-haired boy who was engrossed in nibbling on the lips of the girl in his laps
Olcan growled and pulled away from the girl's kiss, there were four other guys in the room and each of them chuckled when they saw his reaction to the notice, the silver-haired boy signalled for the girl to leave first before picking the call.
"hello father" he greeted
"Olcan how are thing going?" an elderly man asked through the phone speaker
"fine father" Olcan said back, the next question caused all the other boys in the room to chuckle and throw him a pitiful look.
"have you found her?" the man's voice rang again through the receiver
"aish father, do you seriously have to ask me this same question every single time we talk" the boys expression said he was mentally exhausted.
"why shouldn't I? finding your mate is important"
"yes yes I know, my mate doesn't just seem to be on the surface of this Earth. Where else should I look for her?"
they could hear the man click her tongue at the other end of the call "tsk maybe if you stopped chasing other girls and being a Playboy then you might finally find your mate"
A smug grin appeared on Olcan's face "father did you really expect me to be chaste for someone I haven't met or might never even meet, it's been 7 years, who knows? I might be mateless"
werewolves are known to find their mate when the turned 18, although it was true, it still happened that some still don't find theirs after 18 and end up being mateless wolves. Olcan was 7 years beyond 18 and for most of these years he had searched for his mate but had not yet found her,
"Olcan!" Vuk reprimanded his son anxiously.
There is a folklore that has been told through time, it was about a certain werewolf that was dissatisfied with the events playing out going on in his life, so he bad-mouthed himself which agitated the moon goddess and resulted in her making all the bad things he said come to pass. Maybe it was just an ordinary children moral story but it had thought many wolves to be mindful of what they said.
