though she was skeptical, it would have been rude of Elara to refuse the gift so she took it from the old woman and called lightly "grandma"
Obviously delighted, the woman happily patted Elara's head. she turned to leave but then was hesitant to do so, after minutes of contemplation her lips parted and she uttered;
"A bird caged too long would never learn to fly, the wind might be too much but you have all it takes to soar. Love in all situation even when there is no hope" with this she walked into the crowd without turning back.
Her last words left Elara perplexed, she didn't have an inkling on what the old woman's words could actually mean.
"whatever" she shook away the distressing thoughts and munched on her apple. Old people were known to talk weirdly so how can she put some old woman's words to heart.
****
In the depth of night amidst the howls of night wolves, in a throne room that looked like it was built from fantasy.
there's old women sat on a decrepit throne woven with cement, Vines and leaves. the only things saving the scene from looking ugly and tattered was that they all were dressed nicely plus apart from the ancient throne, there was nothing that showed that this place had lived for numerous years.
Like a whisk of smoke another Elderly lady puffed into the room, if seen by normal people it would be totally unbelievable and accounted as a trick or prank but it wasn't a prank, it was only the result of a spell.
"Masters" the Elderly woman that entered bowed to the women seated on the throne.
"erina you're here" the one in the middle greeted the still bowing lady. The moon light from the open sky shone on her face and highlighted her facial features that was no different from the lady that had given Elara the apple
"yes master, I got your call and made haste to the coven, what's is it that master wanted to discuss?"
"Erina I met your granddaughter" her voice rang out and the head of the elderly woman kneeling shot up immediately. She seemed surprised by the old woman's words.
"is she in Oakswood?" she asked. This woman was no doubt Elara's grandmother, she had left Sunflare city months ago so she didn't know that Elara father had gotten admission for Elara and she had moved to Oakswood.
"hmm she's such a lovable child"
"I know" Erina nodded in agreement.
The Old woman kept quite for some time then suddenly said "I saw the spelled bracelet you gave to her"
in a world were there were countless supernatural beings, which also includes the popular beings called witches, things like spelled or cursed items were not rare to see but still there were rules that guides how those things are used or how they are brought about.
guiltily the elder woman tried to explain "master I didn't tell you but i_" she was cut off.
"I know already" the old woman's voice cut her off.
Erina wasn't that surprised to hear this, if she had known it was inevitable that her master would know too. She was going to say something else but the words the raspy voice said next shocked her.
"I gave her the Withering apple"
"Master!" Erina exclaimed anxiously. as a witch she knew the Withering apple contained a spell that gradually ate away at other spells, until it is finally broken.
"it's for her own good" the Old woman said
"but master_" Erina tried to argue but the woman stopped her.
"i can't see her future but I see that she would face a lot of storms, it best she knows how to defend herself now or else it would be disadvantageous for her and probably...all of us. She would experience something that had never happened in past times, if she isn't strong enough, not even the moon goddess can help her."
"I understand master" she reclined.
"hmmm, it's also bad if we get too involved. fate needs to take it's natural course"
"yes" after saying her goodbyes, Erina left the place leaving only the three old women.
"what do you see?" one said
"series of Chaos and mishappenings" the old woman answered.
"what confuses you?" the third asked
"The plan of the gods" the Old woman reply back.
"what do you fear?" the first asked again.
"The realms might be destroyed" the Old woman said, she looked downcast and her brows creased from the weight of the thoughts she carried.
"like old times I hope they would find a way to overcome this obstacles that they would face".
The other two other women voice echoed together before they gradually vanished from the room. "Light to darkness, Love to hate. fate would mark the lovers way".
"yes that's true, Fate would mark the Lovers way".
