The sound of crashing waves followed by the chirping of seagulls entered Iris' ears. She felt the warmth of the sun hitting her face and the breeze gently blowing her hair.
Iris got up slowly, she felt the fine sand in her hands, and a wide blanket wrapped around her.
"Are you awake?"
Iris looked up, her eyes narrowed feeling the glare of the sun. The pain was still palpable in her chest, she saw Alita's wet face in front of her.
"Yes, where are we?" Iris answered in a hoarse voice. The Witch turned to and fro and saw Morgan in his werewolf form rolling in the sea, fine gray fur glistening in the sunlight.
Thomas stood not far from Morgan, the wolf's tail was wagging the seawater arrogantly as if he was mocking. Thomas just laughed and splashed water back from his little hand.
"Not far from your duel with the White Wizard." Alita pointed to the side with her lips.
Iris turned her head and found that not far from where she was lying, the condition of the beach was shattered and full of holes here and there, in contrast to the scene in front of her, still clean without the slightest trace of fighting.
"Ah, it was all because of me...." Iris sighed softly, she massaged her temples because she felt dizzy suddenly.
It was completely beyond will that Iris spiraled out of control and brutally destroyed a portion of this beautiful beach.
Alita sat beside Iris, staring intently at the Witch. "It's hard to believe you're one of the Great Witch."
"Yes." Iris hugged her knees, looking not happy at all. She buried her face there. "Do they know too?"
"Of course," said Alita carelessly, she remembered Thomas' screams of pain last night. Secretly, she was grateful that the prince was still alive and able to laugh for now.
Alita had always been traumatized by the screams of pain, never expected that she would hear them last night.
"Don't you hate me?" Iris asked quietly.
Alita stared at the witch for a moment, then chuckled softly.
"What for? Because you bring the dead back to life? How is it different from me drinking blood? "
Iris was stunned to hear Alita's words, the vampire girl looked calm, her gaze remained the same as usual. There was no look of hatred or disgust on her face.
"That power is a gift. There's no need to deny something that has become our destiny. "
"You… are very wise," Iris praised subconsciously, she had never thought of such a thing before.
Iris has always lived with various fears of other people's prejudices. She was afraid to use her powers because she had bad experiences with them.
It was still clear in his memory how she was blasphemed for resurrecting someone who should have died. She was afraid, afraid that it would happen again, afraid of the thousands of sharp words that pierced his heart.
Iris heart is too fragile.
Iris thinks too much about other people's words than her little heart. She just realized that Alita's words seem to smack her with reality.
that she would not be able to run any distance away from the fateful line. She can only live it and follow the flow of his destiny.
Iris looked at Morgan and Thomas, who were elbowing each other in the crashing waves. Of course, the smaller human fell into the water, his body being swept away by the current.
"You dog!" Alita cursed and pelted Morgan with a conch shell she got from a pile of sand.
Iris didn't expect that once wise mouth to curse Morgan with words that didn't suit her age. She shook her head slowly.
Morgan immediately bit the boy's leg with wolf teeth, Thomas grimaced and immediately kicked the wolf's head in annoyance.
Iris touched her chest. The seal that had been holding back her strength had disappeared completely due to her battle with the White Wizard. She was worried that she might do something out of control.
"What happened last night? I can't remember clearly. " Iris suddenly said and turned to Alita.
Iris only vaguely remembers the pain and heat that burned her body, she doesn't remember anything else after that.
Alita snorted at Iris, she sat back down and took the clamshell. "I don't know, maybe you should ask Thomas. He was the one who protected you when you fainted."
"I ... passed out?"
Alita frowned in confusion, then for a moment she nodded stiffly.
"Yes, When we arrived, you were already unconscious. "
Iris widened her eyes, her hands immediately trembled. She remembered very clearly that once she lost control of her powers, she wouldn't be able to stop before killing someone who was nearby and destroying everything.
How could Thomas still be alive and not get any injuries due to his strength?
Was the White Wizard controlling her power?
Iris shook her head, knowing that her power would not be controlled by anyone unless that person had a higher level of power than a Great Wizard.
Iris looked at Thomas, could it be that Thomas was controlling her power?
"What happened to Thomas when you came? He wasn't hurt, right?"
"He …." Alita muttered with a gloomy face, her fingers forming an abstract image on the beach sand. "Returned to his original form, the same as before he was cursed."
"How could that be?" Iris asked in shock, but after a moment she thought it might be Miguel who lifted the curse for a moment.
"I don't know, it wasn't long before he came back like that again."
Alita looked sadly at Thomas who was at odds with Morgan, there was a scream and loud splashing of water.
Morgan howled, he wagged his tail again, then unhesitatingly dropped himself onto Thomas.
Iris didn't understand what happened that night, many guesses were running through her head, she was guessing whether this was one of Miguel's actions or Thomas could control his powers.
She didn't know.
"The White Wizard let us go for a while, I don't understand why he did that… but I think we should quickly break the curse before seeing him again."
Alita lay down on the sand, she took the blanket that Iris was wearing and covered her whole body.
Iris clenched her fists, she didn't know who controlled her power last night, but what is clear is that she must practice controlling it so that terrible things will not happen again, she must also learn to cultivate her physique so that she is not as weak as she is now.
Iris remembered Snow White's words, she chuckled. Her destiny was truly unavoidable even though hundreds of years had passed.
"Miguel," Iris muttered emphatically, her eyes glaring at the hollow sand not far from them. "I'll beat you someday."
