As Thomas stepped down the stairs, he turned into the royal library and found a woman in a red dress reading a book in the corner of the room, under the dim candlelight.
The man smiled. He studied Iris's face. His brows furrowed together and his red lips pursed tightly. Thomas approached her slowly and touched Iris's shoulder.
"Your eyes will be damaged if you read with candles like this," Thomas whispered in Iris' ear, glancing at the candle that was in the glass cup.
"Tommy!" Iris rubbed her ears and hastily shifted, her face instantly turning red. "Didn't I tell you not to do that again?!"
"Oh?" Thomas laughed. He sat down beside Iris and rested his chin. "Like what?"
"I told you not to whisper or hug me all of a sudden, I was shocked!" Iris closed the book she was reading, the candlelight swaying in front of them.
