I combed through my dark hair nervously and double checked to see if I masked my scent. The building I was sitting in was in the territory of a strong pack if they knew a rogue wolf like me entered their area, I would be killed immediately. I can't die yet, I still have to save...
You must be curious to what I mean, the story is simple. I am a rouge werewolf who left my pack. Why? Because I, an omega wolf, served no purpose in the pack and was given the choice of leaving or dying. I chose to leave, my family didn't stop me, they wanted me gone.
I never joined a pack after leaving my previous one, no pack would be willing to take in an omega and rogue. Omegas are considered weak and worthless, although I'm actually neither but I don't need to prove it to anyone now.
Something you might be more interested in is how am I not insane or vicious? The answer lies in the bar I go to every week. All the alcohol I drink keeps me sane and thinking like a human. It could also be the determination to find my soulmate that's keeping me from losing my head and my mission to save someone important.
"Miss Sanders, the boss would like to see you now." I stood up and followed the woman who called me. We walked for awhile, taking a lift up to the top floor. We arrived at the huge office and she let me in. The second I entered, I was met with an intimidating scent.
Arthur Jude stood proudly with a deep smile and eyes filled with authority. The aura he gave off would have definitely scared away any wolf cub in the area. I plastered a smile over my nervousness and took his hand in mine.
"Faelynn Sanders, it's a pleasure to meet you, Mr Jude."I shook his hand firmly and took a seat in front of him. "Pleasure is mine, Miss Sanders. You're from Devine Reports, am I right?" He sat down, his bright brown eyes burning holes through me.
"Correct, I don't wish to waste any time. So can we get started?" I pulled out a small notepad and pen from my handbag. "We'll start when my assistant joins us, that is if you don't mind miss." I nodded and we waited in silence for a few minutes before the sound of a door opening interrupted it.
"Aaron, you've arrived early." Arthur commented sarcastically and rolled house eyes as the man walked in. The same citrusy scent catching my attention, my eyes widen as the red haired male from yesterday walked in. "I apologize but Elijah was having trouble with the new recruits."
I stood up immediately and held my hand, hoping to hide my nervousness. "Faelynn Sanders, you must be Mr Jude's secretary and assistant." Aaron took my hand and shook it, sparks traveled through my whole body as a blush made its way onto my cheeks.
I kept myself from pouncing on him right then and there, this was obviously my mate but I can't say anything about it. "I am Aaron Backer, Mr Jude's secretary. I apologize for wasting your time, miss." He smiled warmly, my heart pounded as Ari rejoiced in happiness from finding our mate.
"We should get started, I believe my appointment is only till six." I cleared my throat and sat back down. "Before we start, I must ask," Arthur started, his voice low and threatening. " How did you get in my territory, rouge?"
"I don't know what you're talking about." He stood up and Aaron stood behind him. "Don't act dumb, you think I won't know when a rogue is near my territory and if it was in it." I got up backing away, I tried to open the door but it was locked. Aaron must have locked it when he entered.
A small groan of annoyance left my lips as I dropped my handbag. "I won't come here again, just let me leave." Arthur walked towards me, his gaze more colder than before. "You know the rules, if a rouge enters a pack territory without permission, it must be killed."
I dropped to the floor and by accident released my scent. Both men in the room were shook by the scent, each for their own reasons. "An omega?" Arthur questioned, stopping in his tracks while Aaron's eyes widen in realization and ecstasy. "You," he was frozen in his spot.
"What pack were you from?" Arthur asked again, an unreadable expression on his face. "Shadow pack, I left the pack because they made me. I had no other choice." I bowed my head down. "Arthur, don't hurt her." Aaron said softly, I couldn't see what he was doing but I heard footsteps. I faced the ground and shut my eyes, getting ready for the worst to come.
A small whimper left my mouth accidentally, I watched as my life flashed before my eyes, I saw the figure of someone I wanted to save. If only I could apologize to him for my incompetence. Suddenly two pairs of arms wrapped around me, the words I heard next changed my world entirely. "I finally found you," Arthur's voice softer and his scent calmed down to a more comforting one.
"My sister."
