"I can't believe he of all people told you that." Zander said pacing back and forth. "Well if anything Zander it's not like she said 'yes'." Nora said adding her two cents. "You didn't say yes did you?" They looked at her. "Well I didn't exactly say no either." Akira said getting a death look from both of her friends. "Akira Mae Martinez what in the actual hell were you thinking? Were you even thinking?" Nora said bewildered at the thought of the situation. "I simply told him that if he could come up with 3 good reasons as to why I should then I would consider." She said smiling, "And as you see he hasn't bothered me since to marry him." They sighed in relief. "Well that means hakuna matata for us." Zander said earning a head nod in agreement.
"For all we know he could just want to be a family for the little nut. I mean that's what my parents did for me and my brother after my dad got her pregnant." Nora said shrugging. "Even if he wanted to do that I already have enough family with just you two." Akira smiled at the both of them. "Damn straight" Nora said. As the three began sitting on the couch and laughing and talking the door bell rang. "I'll get it, probably the pizza we ordered." Akira put on her puffer jacket as she opened the door. "Here's the tip." Akira took the ten dollar tip out for pocket to hand to the pizza guy. "As flattered as I am, I don't need the money Mae." Akira looked up and saw that it was no other than the last person she wanted to see.
"What do you want Stone-Michaels?" Akira said putting her hands on her hips. "Feisty much I came here to settle score. In your own words, 'if you can give me 3 good reasons to marry you then you'll consider'." He smiled as she rolled her eyes at his response. "Now can you let me in it's freezing out here. You know as good as as I do New York weather doesn't play." She allowed him inside after a gust of the winter winter wind bust through the gap of the door. "Thanks again." He went into the living room and saw her friends or were they family? He didn't know and he didn't care to know. "I thought you lived alone." Darian said as he took a seat on the loveseat. "It shouldn't matter if I do or not." Akira says hanging her jacket on the back of her chair that she sat on.
"Well you said you had your 3 good reasons as to why I should marry a conniving, manipulative person like yourself so go ahead." Akira said listening along with Zander and Nora to make final judgements. "My first reason is that our kid or kids deserve to live in a functional home with both parents." He said truthfully. "I told you so." Nora whispered to Akira, earning an eyeroll. "Secondly I can place our child in better living conditions than the current." "This is MY child." Akira said as Darian ignored her. "Third is that I can take care and provide what the child needs as they get older." He said lastly. "Those aren't really good ones do you have anything better because She has us and we provide everything for her and the child." Zander said flipping his short red hair.
"I mean there's also the fact that if she doesn't marry me I could just sue her for sole custody and never let her see her only child ever again." Darian said making Akira go pale. "HOW DARE YOU??" Zander screamed taking strides of anger towards him. "You forced yourself upon her and gave her a child with OUT her permission and now you want to force her to marry you? You're such an asshole." Zander said clenching his fist on the collar of Darian's shirt. "I'm just trying to do what's best for the child you can hate me all you want but that child needs me." Darian says keeping composure.
"Let him go Zand." Akira said making everyone look at her confused. "If I marry you, you have to leave them alone and not let any harm come to them." Zander and Nora looked at her bewildered. "Kira darling we can handle ourselves we don't care about this lug of an asshat. Besides I got lawyers who can help you win in court if we need to take that route." Nora said as she shook her head. "As much as I would love to have sole custody of the baby he's right. The baby needs a father in it's life." She said as Zander looked at her angrily fuming. "What happened to being the only you need huh Akira? I thought you said you didn't need him." She had tears in her eyes tempted to fall. "I don't need him but the baby will Zander." She reached out to touch but he withdrew from her.
"You see you're just like him. He's gonna make you leave us and then you'll forget us. Just like " He stopped himself. "You know what just go Akira. Go away and never come back." He grabbed his jacket and headed for the door. "I'm leaving." He went out the door slamming it on the way out. "I have to go find him." Akira said. "Akira no it's too dangerous for you out there." Nora said trying to stop her at her while only being 4 feet and 9 inches. "I have to find Nora he might do something stupid and I can't have that on my conscience. "Akira said opening the door only to feel the wind gush a lot of snow in her face. "I'm going with or without you Nora you can't stop me." Akira walked out the door and began her search for her buddy in crime that made her smile in every way. Praying that he was okay and wasn't in harm's way.
