With a 'Slashhhh' sound, Lily's dress was torn, and her front body with only with a pair of lacy lingeries left, was exposed in front of the crowd.
Everybody gasped in surprise. For a second nobody reacted at all. The song ended with a low hum and the dancing lights also stopped. The ambience changed all of a sudden and the concentrations of every existing person in the hall stopped on Lily. Her bare front was displayed in front of hundreds of unknown people from all over the world.
After a moment of initial shock, Lily screamed out loud. That man, who was dancing with her, made a stunned face and immediately retreated his shoe from her dress and moved a few steps back.
His actions gave the people there even more access to look at her bare body.
Lily screamed at the top of her lungs and used her hands to pull the torn parts of the dress. But to her no avail, that lousy attempt to cover herself made her look more miserable.
Albert moved his eyes as his frowns deepened.
Evelyn's eyes were flushing with a cold glint as the corners of her lips raised slightly.
"Fu*k." Herbert muttered under his breath as his crossed hands dropped by his sides.
By feeling this slight movement beside her, Mantisha woke up from her trance.
She grabbed the satin shawl of Evelyn, and ran towards the center of the dance floor.
By a flip of her hands, she covered Lily with the shawl and adjusted it with a quick movement, so that her shoulder to upper thigh was completely covered.
With a sharp, and commanding voice Mantisha screamed, "Turn off the godd*m stage lights."
Her voice was loud enough to go through the walls, as the hall went into pin drop silence, but the party planner or the people assigned to do the dance floors arrangements were nowhere to be seen.
Lily was shaking all over as her legs went numb. Her mind, her heart, her rationality everything were messed. She looked dumbly at the crowd as her eyes saw nothing but pity, sympathy, ridicule, mockery, lust and disgust. She was a princess, she led a life like a rich spoiled, pampered child who was excellent among everything. But never in her worst nightmares, she thought she had to face a day like this. Thus when faced one, she was like a paralyzed thoughtless fool, who did not have any idea about what should she do.
People around started whispering,
"What a pity! She was dancing so well."
"What pity? Do you think there would be such a day when you get to see such a gorgeous body for free?"
"Sigh! She acted so proud. Look at her now, what happened atlast."
"Never in my life I thought I would see such a princess bare in front of my eyes. Too bad that I'm not allowed to touch her."
"She was so full of herself after wearing Tasman Murad's latest creation. But she could not even carry that."
"Look at her, standing like a fool there, with no sense of shame. If it was happened with me, I would rather die or not take a step out again from my room."
In front of all the criticisms Lily was in the verge of collapsing. Her body was loosing the balance as she shook more.
A few meters away in a shadowy corner, Steven was standing with Andrew. His face was dark like hell as he was looking like a living asura standing to see the world collapse.
"Make him come here in a few minutes from now. Then ask him to wait for my signal." Steven ordered without batting his eyelids, slowly. His words full of contemneds.
Andrew nodded lightly, and turned back silently. Already having an idea what would going to be happened, he sighed in anticipation, 'I wonder, how these ladies had offended him. Or it was for her, again!'
Mantisha was growing impatient by the each passing seconds. The passing comments and taunts were already getting on her nerves. She wondered how Lily was doing. Completely oblivious with the matter of Macy's arrangements, she did not understand why any of the staffs is not coming or listening.
Feeling Lily's shaky breaths, She looked at the way of their table and called out loud with a pioneering voice, "Herbert..."
Herbert got the hint as he woke up from the trance and ran out towards the main hall.
Mantisha brushed her eyes past the crowd and demanded, "Don't you have any self respects? Look away or just go from here."
A lady in her mid thirties with heavy make up on her face laughed out loud. Everybody looked at her like they were waiting for another show.
"You want us to look away? Why would we?" She sneered with a mocking tone, "This lady here wants us to look at herself. Didn't you see that?"
Mantisha frowned. She could not understand what nonsense was that lady spouting. Why would someone want people to look at her in this situation!
"Is it that hard to understand me? Then just ask her, why did she change into such a revealing dress, that's also before coming to the dance floor. Everybody have seen her earlier with a purple evening gown, right?"
People around nodded vigorously at her comment. This lady had indeed changed her style completely before coming here.
"Have you guys lost your mind? What's with these nonsense. Many of you envied her a while ago for her beauty and the dress she was wearing. Now that an accident happened, and the dress got ruined, you are mocking her for wearing a 'revealing dress'? Tell me, where is the actual problem? Having a dress with an unique style or such a dress was worn by someone else other than you." Mantisha spat with utter disgust.
But that lady laughed again. With a tone full of ridicules, she told, "So how did you know it was an accident? Everybody here knows this is Tasman Murad's latest design. This dress was prepared by finest artists and tailors. How could it be ruined by just a pull!"
Mantisha narrowed her eyes as a pair of eyes full of hatred appeared in her mind. Her dress was ruined earlier, she changed into the current one out of her paranoia, but was asked to change into this by that waitress. Her eyes filled with doubt. It her intuition was right, then the target was...
"Yes, you are right." Another lady with a shrill voice agreed with her comment.
"We all saw her flaunting, dancing Tango in a dance floor full of couples. She deliberately danced in that style to make her look an expert, and forced everybody to leave. She was clearly enjoying it." A man with a disdainful voice sneered. He had asked Lily for a dance earlier, but she declined. Now see what happened!
"Always wants to show off. Who knows, she might ruin the dress by herself to get more attentions."
Lily shook violently in her arms, as her head dropped more into the crook of her neck.
This time, Mantisha lost her cool completely. Circling her arm at Lily's back, she retorted to everyone,
"I am shocked to the core to see the upper class people's upbringings. How can you mock and scold a victim on her face like these, without even knowing the truth." She paused for a second before continuing,
"Besides, even if the dress was revealing, she chose to dance in Tango style or she flaunted herself, you guys did not utter a word because she was the best. Now that something happened and she is cornered, you are attacking so harshly. I wonder what you would do if it happened with you!"
"Still taking her side. Who exactly are you? Why didn't we see you earlier? Did she hire you to cover for herself to nake herself look pitiful?" A young girl chirped from aside. Completely oblivious by the fact that she had enraged two famous young masters altogether.
"Otherwise..." The lady who started mocking from the first said, "Otherwise why would she cover for her when everything is crystal clear?"
Mantisha took a deep breath and calmly replied with a cold stare,
"Cause I am not an ASS*OLE."

What's wrong with Evelyn again? Do you know?
Good or bad, whatever could be the personality, but a wrong would always be wrong. I feel sad for Lily.
