"Cause I am not an Ass*ole."
A thunderous voice came with an ice cold stare. People across the hall, all went silent. It was like a bomb had dropped. Nobody could believe at such a surrounding, with such prestigious people around, in such a upper class party like this, how could a lady broach such a loathsome word like that!
After a few moments whisper broke through the entire hall.
"Oh my goodness! Did she just say what I hear!"
"I just can't believe, how can she curse like this."
"You know, appearance is a facade. She just looked all humble and modest a while ago, in a few minutes her entire demanor changed."
"Wow, she was so graceful while dancing. I thought she was just another obedient noble young miss. But now with such a cold voice and face... She really turned me on."
"Ha ha ha, absolutely. I wonder which position she will like. With such a domineering attitude, she must like to be on top, right?"
"I like the opposite more. You know, men on top, women in the bottom. It would even be better if she resists. Oh, just by thinking about the scene, I am going to get a boner here."
Steven's breathing quickened. Clenching his hands into fists he asked in a voice that can be considered as a growl, "Who are they?"
Andrew placed his hand on his shoulder as he muttered in a voice only Steven could hear, "Control, Second Brother. We will see them later."
Steven closed his eyes in frustration. He was fuming inside yet could not break those men's faces who insulted her, desired her in such twisted ways.
Andrew sighed in anticipation. When Steven asked him to make that Miss Carter stop coming here, he saw it coming.
Thankfully Steven was in a tight position now because of his family. He had super patience when it came to their work and he was also very enduring from his childhood. Until now, he did not take any step without judging the pros and cons well, and he was never wrong.
But after he met this girl, somehow he lost his mind. Though he still was doing everything very cautiously but who knew, if this continued, it would blow their cover anytime soon.
A few meters away, Matteo De Sica's deep blue eyes glimmered with a strange light. The corners of his lips curved upwards as he raised his two fingers up and brought those near his ear. Then he tapped a custom made earpod twice. It was so tiny that was invisible from the front and if only someone looked very closely from the side, only then a tiny head of it could be seen.
As the signal was sent, almost immediately a voice came through the device, "Il Capo."**
"Investigate her." He adjusted the neatly folded handkerchief placed in his suit's pocket, and a tiny custom made button appeared in front of it. But if noticed closely, a small maroon tint could be seen inside it.
"The one in White Prada."
"Considera che è fatto." A thick voice came rang in his ear.
"Mmm" He did not say anything else but just hummed in response.
"Qualcos'altro Capo?" The voice continued to come for any other tasks.
"Just do it, piu 'veloce che puoi." Matteo sounded a little impatience, his eyes still lingering on her.
Mantisha stood there, in between the crowd. Though she felt her knees were shaking in front of all the criticisms, she thought about the things Lily had to face alone if she cowered away from here. So she held her head high, her shoulders up.
She knew she was not wrong and Lily was also framed. Even if the incident was designed, even if Lily was also a part of it, but while she was shaking in fear and shame, Mantisha just could not bear to leave her in that way. This would be a incitement to force her to commit suicide.
So in this position, if she had to choose a side, she would take the side of the victim first, then leave the other matters to the law. She believed the truth would come out eventually. But first, she had to take care of the victim.
"What kind of vulgar word is this. How could a sub standard lady like you manage to enter in Mr. Roy's party?" That lady who started bickering sneered with anger.
Mantisha cursed inwardly, she could not understand why Herbert was taking so long.
"Thankfully, only my words are vulgar. Not my actions like many of the people present here."
She held Lily's back in a protective way as she mocked with a cold voice, "You just said the dress was made by the finest workers and one of the most popular designers in the world. Such fabrics could not be torn with just a pull. That clearly indicates that the matter was designed. But what did you do afterwards? Except blaming the victim and spouting nonsense?"
*Silence*
With a cold glint flashing in her face, she uttered slowly.
"Or are you got bribed by someone to point out the faults and twist the facts to put the blame on the victim?"
*Boom*
It was like another bomb had dropped. Surrounding people gasped in surprise as the looked at that lady in a strange way.
"No no no, it's not like this." That lady started to panic after hearing Mantisha.
'Dam* it. How did she know! Did she saw us talking? No it can't be. Nobody was around then.'
"I swear to the heavens, it's really nothing like that. To save the girl, this bi*ch is framing me."
*Awkward silence*
That lady did not understand what was wrong untill Mantisha sneered with disdain.
"So the nobles can also be vulgar when their tails get stepped on."
That lady looked like she had just swallowed a fly. Neither could she gulp that down nor could vomit that out. Another wave of whispers broke out.
"Oh my ears! How many curses do I have to listen today! How can a woman with good etiquettes utter words like that."
"She is also a fake."
"Another two faced snake like personality."
"I just can't believe this. She was bribed!"
"Isn't she Madam Cindy from the Browns Group? Doesn't she come from the great Brown family? How could she be bribed!"
"Don't you know, her gambling habit? My father told my mother a few months ago that Mr. Brown stopped giving wages to the mother daughter duo of Browns, he also blocked their cards, so that they could not go to the casinos anymore. With her little monthly allowances, Madam Brown was seen to play Mahjong a few days ago. But I guess she lost again."
"Oh my god, I can't believe that she just manipulated us."
"It has to be said that she is loyal atleast. She did her work well after taking the money."
"Ha ha, well said. A pure dog like personality. Or should I say, a bitc..."
"Ssshhhh... Do you so want to be called vulgar?"
"Oopss. Right."
Cindy Brown's face was turning into green. She did not expect this matter to go on like this.
Mantisha felt Lily's body was calming down little by little as she stopped shaking.
She pulled Lily's face up a little only to see a tear strained face. Her heart ached at the sight.
"You... Mmhh... Are... You okay?" Looking at her face, she could not understand what should she say.
Lily said nothing, she only looked at her as she sobbed.
Mantisha bit her lips. She could not understand what should she do to comfort her. She missed her mother. If only Sylvia was here.
-----------
This Matteo De Sica is giving me more heroic vibe than Steven. But in a creepy way. -_-
