I ran, without looking back to see if the wolf is behind me or not, I ran as if I was being chased by it as my life depended on it.
I don't know how I knew my way around the perimeters of this land but I ran like I know the land like my second skin, making turns and entering bushes until I reached the entrance of the forest I came in from.
With my legs reaching the tip of my skull and my heart pumping blood like a maniac, I ran until I saw the road behind me fade, the glowing flowers brought to life under the soft glow of the moon, the road on the other side appear, the trail of houses, and my house in front of me, without stopping for once or looking back at all.
Crashing in the front of my doorstep, I burst into tears.
I don't know why but an overwhelming feeling of loss befell me, it choked me hard that it felt like I was going to die and I couldn't shake it off no matter how hard I tried.
