[Day 2]
Sun and Marianne were sleeping together peacefully until they both opened their eyes at the same time. They looked at each other and Marianne suddenly blushed because of the sound they both heard coming from a specific place.
"When was the last time I was hungry? It's been far too long..." Marianne whispered to herself as she stared at her stomach with a solemn expression. She was still in denial despite waking up as a dragon.
"I'll go look for some food." Sun quickly said. Even though he just woke up, he was already ready to get his day started. He was no longer in his original world that was semi-dog-eats-dog, now he was in a fantasy world that was governed by those rules.
Progress was key.
He didn't wait for Marianne's answer and ventured towards the exit of the cave. His eyes were immediately covered by the sunlight of two different suns at once. One was purple and the other was yellow, yet somehow the purple one didn't emit any visible light.
'Hopefully I can find some berries or fruits since I'm in a forest.' Sun looked around, quickly realizing that he and Marianne were reincarnated in a cave that was in the middle of a forest.
The forest looked ordinary for the most part, at least when one ignored the overgrown and vitality-filled trees and plants. All the plants and trees and overall nature-related organisms looked so lively.
"I can feel my mood being influenced by this place. If only there was something like this on Earth..." Sun stopped for a brief moment to observe the effects of the forest before exploring it.
As he walked through the forest, he observed everything out of curiosity. Sun's body twitched when he heard the sound of something moving around inside of a bush. His gaze immediately locked onto the place of the sound's origin and he waited patiently.
He got into a pose that would favor him if he wanted to retreat or attack. A few seconds later, the small silhouette of a rabbit emerged from within a bush; it looked ordinary for the most part.
Sun was delighted by this, he thought of the rabbit as easy prey.
'I've never hunted an animal before though...' Sun was rather exhilarated when he thought about the possibility of hunting a rabbit. Unfortunately, that dream was put on pause when a bigger silhouette appeared behind the rabbit.
Sun squinted his eyes a bit and the features of the creature was revealed.
'A boar? Oh no...' Sun didn't feel so good now and he began to slowly back away in case the boar was somehow angered by him.
He watched carefully as the boar interacted with the rabbit but didn't harm it.
'Aren't boars rather hostile? Maybe that's just me, but oh well...' Sun's eyes flickered as he crawled towards the rabbit and watched it. Eventually, the rabbit and boar separated and the rabbit was now alone.
The boar went somewhere far away so now was the perfect chance for Sun.
"I'm sorry little guy, but it's kill or be killed." Sun muttered to himself as he approached the rabbit until he was in pouncing range.
!!
Sun pounced on the rabbit so suddenly that it reacted a few seconds later! Sun wrapped the rabbit with his wings and bit into its neck, trying to swiftly kill it.
Pii!
Unfortunately, the rabbit was able to let out a faint squeal just before it died. Sun gritted his teeth and carried the rabbit back to the cave before the boar caught up.
Contrary to Sun's previous assumption, the boar seemed to have been closer to the rabbit than expected. It huffed and puffed with anger before rushing head-first towards Sun.
"Oh no!" Sun's expression turned drastic as he watched the boar catch up to him. He could tell it was furious and it's killing intent was basically leaking out of its body!
Sun tried his best to keep his composure and think rationally.
'I've been in more dangerous situations than this!' Sun waited until the boar was right on his tail, and then he took a hard left. The boar let out a confused shriek and tried to slow down, but unfortunately it was moving too fast to stop.
"Serves you right!" A shrill smirk appeared on Sun's face as he watched the boar crash into the face of a small mountain. It was dazed for a long time, so Sun used the opportunity to escape and go back to his cave.
Unfortunately, he forgot where the cave was.
'I should retrace my steps...' Sun went all the way back to the spot where he killed the rabbit at and then retraced his steps all the way back to the entrance of the cave.
'Has my memory been boosted?' He wondered as he walked into the cave with his teeth still sunken into the fur of the rabbit. Marianne was still lying down, trying to fight her hunger.
When she saw Sun finally return, her eyes brightened.
"You actually hunted something! It's not big enough for the both of us though..." She was relieved, but then her expression changed again. She never really mistreated Sun and often felt uncomfortable if he didn't eat.
"You can have it. After all, I have a much bigger prey to catch sooner or later." Sun's tone was a bit tired but his expression betrayed him. He thought he'd feel strange when he killed that rabbit, but surprisingly it felt normal.
And he had already made plans in his head on how he'd kill that boar.
Plus, a system screen appeared a while ago after he killed that rabbit. He didn't get to look at it because he was preoccupied with surviving, so now was the time.
[You killed 1 Rabbit! +84 EXP!]
[You obtained the following skills: Horn Creation]
[You received the title: First Kill In Another World]
Sun's pupils dilated when he saw that second system message and he instantly turned towards Marianne, who was already eating the raw rabbit despite being human not too long ago.
"Marr-Mistress don't be careful! I almost forgot that there's a horn on the rabbit's forehead!" Sun reached out his hand and yanked the horn off of the rabbit's head.
A faint smile appeared on Marianne's face before she spoke.
"Don't worry I already knew that."
