[Day 3]
After killing the boar, Sun brought it home and made sure to get rid of its blood beforehand so that it wouldn't attract any powerful creatures. He placed the body on top of a bundle of sticks and leaves inside the cave and went to sleep again...
"Hm? Sun, what is that thing doing in here?!" Marianne let out a surprised shriek upon waking up, which in turn woke up Sun. He shielded his eyes from sun rays that penetrated the cave and looked around in confusion.
His eyes rested on the boar's body for a moment until he finally understood Marianne's surprise.
"Oh, that? It's some food that I hunted last night after you fell asleep..." Sun walked over to the boar's corpse, which was beginning to develop a smell, and viciously ripped it apart. He grabbed a piece in his mouth and shook his head towards Marianne.
"Here." He said with a muffled voice. He dropped the piece of meat on the ground before tearing through the rest of the body. Marianne looked on in shock at how Sun dismembered the boar's body until it was cleanly divided between meat and bones.
He grabbed the bones and threw them outside of the cave before covering the cave's entrance again.
"H-How did you hunt this thing? Was it strong?" Marianne was drooling at this point and couldn't keep her eyes off of the meat that lie before her.
"It was strong, but I managed to pull through." Sun explained as he grabbed the piece of meat the placed in front of Marianne and put it directly in front of her. She was still rather apprehensive when it came to eating raw meat.
Unfortunately, that was all they had to eat currently.
"We can't cook the meat because it'll create an aroma, so bear with it for now." Sun said before grabbing a piece of meat and eating it.
He hoped that one day he could become a human again, but he didn't see it happening soon.
He let out a sigh.
He looked over only to see Marianne devouring the piece of meat that he put before her.
'As somebody who's rather picky with their food, she really seems to have no regards for eating that. Did something change?' After eating, Marianne laid down again to rest since she was full.
Sun was busy thinking about things and planning for the future, unlike someone.
'I'm in the Green Forest...Are there any human settlements nearby? Not that I'd care anyways...' Sun had his opinion about humans, and he knew not all of them were bad.
It's just the ones that he did know were awfully bad in everything they did.
After stretching a bit, Sun began to practice the his race-related skills.
[ [Shadow Bite] ] and [ [Shadow Claw] ].
Unfortunately, he didn't think of using those skills last night or else that boar would have died much easier. He wouldn't have spent so long in a deadlock with the boar until he died of blood loss.
Sun practiced his skills inside the cave for an hour or so, making slash marks made of shadows in the air. From a distance, those marks looked cool, but up close they were exceptionally deadly.
Sun took a look at the information regarding the skills.
[Shadow Bite: Cover your teeth with the power of shadows and increase the damage you do significantly as well as creating deeper bite wounds on your opponent. The power of this skill increases once the sun sets or in a place of dense shadows.]
[Shadow Claw: Create a claw strike made of shadows that lingers in the air for a short period of time and deals significant damage. The power of this skill increases once the sun sets or in a place of dense shadows.]
Sun was satisfied with the information of his skills and planned on using them on his future opponents, especially after dark.
'I guess it's about time I go out and look for new creatures.' Sun had created another goal now, and that was to obtain the powers of every creature inside of the Green Forest. At first all he wanted to do was keep his mistress safe and stay alive.
But that changed.
After exiting the cave and covering it back up, he roamed the forest like yesterday. This time around, he went deeper into the forest and lingered near trees and bushes for safety. He saw a few boars and rabbits along the way but decided not to fight them.
Even though he needed the XP, he was looking for new creatures as well, so he planned on killing them on his way back to the cave...
While hiding inside of a bush, the silhouette of a mighty creature entered Sun's view. He was about to exit the bush, but he sat in place and observed it.
It looked like a wolf, but it's fur was dark green and it had vibrant green eyes that reminded him of elves. There were also small leaves growing on the ends of the wolf's fur!
'Such an interesting wolf! What is it?'
Sun knew he had no chance in a fight against the creature, because he could feel its power from his spot. It was definitely stronger than him, and it gave off territorial vibes so Sun didn't expect the wolf to take him intruding upon its territory lightly.
'I'll cross a line behind here as a no-go zone for right now and hunt those other creatures on my way back to the cave.'
Just as the wolf left Sun's sight and he sprung from out of the bush, his danger sense skill activated and he felt a piercing killing intent aimed at him. He didn't dare to look back and ran as fast as possible.
Unfortunately, it wasn't dark out so he couldn't use his [ [Shadow Dive] ] skill to get away faster...
'How many times am I going to run away from creatures in this world? This is the second time...' By the time Sun finally escaped and made it back to the cave, he was so exhausted that he fell asleep as soon as he laid down.
