-The Best Valentine-
The rest of the night passed quickly, too soon to even notice. The pain had already begun to form, creating a gaping puddle there.
----------------------------------
In the morning, Erlang arrived in front of his dormitory. His father wouldn't ask about his condition suddenly wanting to come earlier than usual.
If in reasonable condition and normal. Erlangga will usually come right when the bell is about to arrive. He and Bintang and Gilang would spend some time outside before returning to their dorm.
But this time was different. He openly refused Bintang's offer to spend time outside as usual. His annoyance at Bintang was also caused by Gilang, who tried to give a narrative.
'This might just be a misunderstanding..'
That sentence always comes to the surface. His friend seemed to persuade him to calm down.
"Everything is done, young master. Is there anything else I need to help you with? " The private driver who drove him spoke. He put down his master's backpack.
"Nothing, you can go."
Nothing changed except for the expression on his face, which turned colder and more unattainable. Her lips were tightly shut as if they would never be open again.
"Erlang!" someone shouted.
Erlangga stopped his steps. He turned around, Gilang was right behind him now.
He was gasping for breath as if he had just run a marathon.
"Can we talk?" he asked.
Erlang snorted, raised his eyebrows high, and turned around without saying anything to Gilang.
"Lang! "
"Erlangga Lorenzo!"
Erlang ignored Gilang's screams. He stepped faster, past the front room of their dorm.
Several students from his dormitory were seen still going back and forth and sitting on sofas and furry carpets. They heard them laughing, teasing and telling stories to each other.
But Erlang's presence immediately changed the situation. They looked at the handsome man who was walking, half-running, with Gilang calling out to him.
But Erlang didn't pay much attention to it. He just continued to walk fast along the circular staircase to the top.
"Erlang! Wait!! " Gilang exclaimed, after having caught up with his friend.
Now they were in front of his dorm room. "Why are you here?" "Your room is not here!" said Erlang.
"Come on, Erlang, just a moment, OK?" Gilang put his luggage on the tile.
"Want to talk about them again, huh? I've read it, just so you know. That won't change my annoyance! "
Gilang certainly understands what is meant by the youth version of 'them' in front of him.
"Come on, Bro. You just need to think calmly. One thing we can be sure of is that Bintang is our best friend. He would never betray us, let alone stab Lo in the back. "
"What I saw was different from all that, Gilang!"
Gilang cursed softly. This is Erlangga's character that he doesn't like. His best friend was too quick to feel an emotion and kept it to himself.
"It's just a misunderstanding, Lang. You remind me that the Bintang and Sella families are good friends. Well, it's possible if they know each other, this is just an ordinary dinner, hm." Gilang exclaimed for a long time.
The man reflected on his failure to calm the situation last night. Erlang first fled when he saw the scene before he could hear the story directly from Bintang.
Erlang shrugged his shoulders slightly.
"I don't know. What I saw last night was more than just an ordinary dinner. He's too familiar with Sella. "
"Have you forgotten, that Bintang has been friends with Sella since childhood? They are close. Just so you remember, we both know Sella from Bintang, don't you?" Gilang exclaimed.
"Talk to Bintang. You need it, Bro." Don't sacrifice our friendship just because of a misunderstanding. "
After saying that, Gilang left Erlang in front of his room. Let the man think about the real situation.
-------The Best Valentine----------
Erlang knows that he is a coward. All afternoon, he avoided everyone, from Gilang, Bintang, and even his dorm mates.
No lunch, or any other kind of gathering. From the Bintang, he had avoided talking to anyone. Chose secluded himself on the roof while enjoying the gentle breeze that hit his face.
His eyes were closed, his thoughts were starting to open. Maybe here he is wrong and Gilang is right. He's just emotional at times.
His vision immediately darkened when he leaked the events of last night. Their arrival was like all the accusations his father and mother had made the other day, about the engagement.
His hands clenched again. Given that they are both having dinner with their respective families, I believe that option makes more sense.
Bintang, right?
Erlang took a deep breath. He had already decided to come back, at least for lunch.
Erlang went down the stairs. By the time he passed the hall, the large tables and chairs tempted him to ditch and open there.
But his footsteps brought Erlang around the corridor leading to the library.
"Unlucky!" Erlang cursed softly. I slightly protested, but couldn't do anything about it. His feet walked on their own and stopped right in front of the former door.
"What am I here for? What a waste of time, " he muttered to himself.
This place is synonymous with Bintang, where men always sleep during free hours and breaks, and their favorite place is the library.
Erlang took a deep breath, then stepped inside.
"Dat-Eh, Erlang Congratulations!" exclaimed the guard, who was surprised to find this present.
"May I come in?" Erlang asked.
"Y-well, of course," she stammered a little.
Erlang no longer waited for the adult woman's reaction. He immediately stepped inside, surveying the large shelves that held the books inside.
Empty tables that are not occupied by anyone. His eyebrows raised. It seems this place is suitable as a bed and a place.
Too quiet for the size of a library.
Erlang approached a large shelf containing many books on astronomy. Not interested. The stock of books in his house is even more complete than this.
Erlang was sure that if he had mastered it, he almost snatched the book that was on the shelf.
"The book will burn if you stare at it that hard."
Erlang immediately turned around when he heard a familiar voice behind him. He had long, black hair, a smile on his face, and a stack of books in his arms.
"Maura."
"Well, it's me. By the way, what is Erlang doing here? Studying or looking for another lost book? "
Maura placed the pile of books on a table not far from where they were standing.
Erlang laughed softly as he glanced around. "I'm not the one who came here, but my feet don't want to obey my words. You know about the synchronization between the brain and movement? "
Maura glanced, "No, it's not related to the lesson anyway, is it?"
Nodding slowly, his gray irises staring at the collision of the book Maura had brought, "Are you studying? Or are you looking for another file that was slipped into the big book? "
Of course, given that their graduation exams were coming up in a few months,
"Not."
"Erlang, I know you understand about my Mama, I mean the weirdness. Besides being obsessed with men who can cook, my mom is also obsessed with smart people. Maura explained it at length.
Erlang blinked a few times. "I don't understand, genuine," he muttered.
Maura took a deep breath, and said, "I mean, my mom always checks the books in the dorm I borrow. She talks like she just memorized the whole book. "
"Your mama is unique."
"Strange, to be precise," added Maura.
