"Cursed?"
"Let me explain but I want you to be very calm and don't panic, there is one more secret that is not mine to tell but you will find out tonight," he paused checking if I was calm and if I was following before continuing.
"Tonight is the full moon night and humans with the ability to shapeshift into wolves either purposely or after being placed under a curse or affliction with the transformations occurring on the night of a full moon. Which is tonight," he muttered.
"You mean I have been cursed to shapeshift into a werewolf is that it?" I asked with my eyes wide open more like a joke.
"No Nancy, not a wolf and I don't know how to explain this for you to understand, there are still a lot of things I can't tell you. If we don't get the stone you might die, well not dead…. dead but you will turn into a monster," he manage to explain to my lame knowledge but I still couldn't understand, no actually it's funny.
"Okay, let me tell you a story, when a werewolf, an alpha to be precise chooses a Luna, it strengthens the pack so there is hope for a future ruler, and it a continuity of the pack. There was this Alpha who imprinted on a human therefore this human has to be his Luna because they are bonded. Now for them to be together she has to be turned into a werewolf but…"
"What the hell Roland none of this is making any sense, you mean werewolves exist?" I asked sacrilegiously.
"Yes, and we don't have time, your life is in danger we need to leave now," he commanded.
"Okay, so where is this damn stone?" I chuckled.
"According to Deminika it was buried in a tomb in the deep forest," he replied looking assiduously at the old wrinkled map in his hand I really tried hard not to laugh but let's just suppose all this is true, what then? the only way to find out is to get the so-called stone.
"Let's go find the so-called stone in a tomb of a dead person, this is just great," I whimpered. Everything seems like a nightmare and I couldn't tell what is real or not.
We set off into the deep forest, my mum is going to freak out if she finds out I'm not in school. I hope Betty is not dumb enough to call home and ask of me. I quickly pick my phone to call her but my phone had no signal.
"Damn it," I sighed in frustration.
"Relax, you are in good hands. Roland will do the impossible to make sure you are safe," a warm voice assured me from behind I turn swiftly to look around it was Norinika and her sister, Deminika.
A warm aura filled my heart, and with her around I feel a little relaxed or should I say I feel it was not a prank from Roland.
"You are here?" I whispered unsure what to say.
"Yes dear," she gave me a warm smile. Unlike Deminika who didn't say much the entire journey only staring at me.
After a ration of struggle in the thick forest, we arrive at the old tomb. Roland was leading us. "Finally," he muttered putting the old map away. I stared at him.
"Now, what?" I asked looking at their face.
"Stay here with Deminika, Roland, and I will go fetch the stone," Norinika proposed.
There was no way I was going to stay with Deminika, even her gaze terrifies me.
"No, I'm coming along with you," I objected as I run to clench Norinika's hand. She smiled at my childishness.
"Better, because I don't plan on babysitting you," she scowls as she takes the lead, the rest of us quietly walk behind her.
"What if we all die in there," I murmured.
Luckily no one heard me. It was the creepiest place I have ever been to. I couldn't wait for this to be over. I can't stand any of this any longer. I jump in fright when we finally arrived at where the stone was kept. Deminika ruthlessly unlock the grave and opened it. I shut my eyes, I couldn't look at the decaying corpse. It was horrible.
She stepped aside.
"I will take it," Roland muttered as he steps close to the corpse.
"No, she has to take it herself, she needs to be the first person to touch the stone," Deminika rumbled looking at me. No way, she must be crazy to think I will put my hand in there. I shake my head stepping further away from it.
"She is right, you have to be the one to take it," Norinika whispered. I glance at her while she nods her head, I will be just fine. I stare at Roland who looked worried and then back to the corpse.
"We don't have all day princess," Deminika chuckled.
I walk closer after taking in a deep breath, I stick my hands in to pick the stone.
My hand touch the stone but I couldn't pull my hands out.
"Arrrrrhhh, my hand is stuck," I cried. I could hear my own voice echoing back to my ears.
