Chapter 32 - The ancient stone

"Help! Help I don't want to die," I groan.

"Oh, stop the drama," Deminika scoffs as she pulls my hand forcefully. I staggered back, falling flat on my back.

"Ouch," I mumbled, rubbing my butt to wipe the dust. When I looked up Norinika and Roland stood in front of me.

"Are you okay?" Norinika asked. She and Roland helped me up to my feet.

"Oh, my bad," Deminika muttered over the ringing pain that echoed in my ears. She made her way out as we followed her.

We were heading back home. I handed the stone to Roland as he kept it in his bag. There was no need for me to personally take the stone. They should have at least warned me that was going to happen. I would have prepared myself and not had the shock of my life.

I thought I was going to die in there.

"I know you have a lot of questions on your mind, but you don't have to worry everything will be fine now," Norinika assured me. I wasn't going to settle for that, Roland has some explanations to do. He has to make me understand what is really going on.

"You really plan on not telling her the truth huh?" Deminika shrugs.

"Stop it Deminika please," Roland mumbled giving her a look that warn don't you say another word.

"I can't stand all this drama, now you have the stone you can deal with the rest. I'm leaving," she scoff as she turn to stare at Norinika who was still holding my hand.

"Are you coming?" she scowled.

"I have to go Nancy after tonight you will understand everything," Norinika whispered as she let go of my hand and join her sister. I sniffed as they disappeared.

Now I was left with Roland who was quickening his pace so I won't ask him any more questions.

"I have questions, but I will wait till you are ready to tell me. Now we have the stone, what next," I muttered increasing my pace, no I lie I don't think I can stay calm with everything happening.

"I will prepare the potion and ….." he paused and quickly took my hands. He clenches it tightly as his eyes travel around apprehensively.

"What is wrong Roland?" I asked.

"Stay close to me, we are surrounded," he whispered anxiously.

"By who?" I asked looking around but couldn't see anyone. What is making him so paranoid? I think I have had enough drama for the day. God, please let it stop.

"Just stay close to me and whatever happens don't let go of my hand," He commended.

I could only nod in dread.

"Give us the stone and we will leave peacefully," a hoarse voice echoed. I couldn't tell which direction it came from. I shut my eyes tightly clenching unto Roland.

"That's not happening," Roland replied firmly.

"We will have to take it by force then," now the voice was closer. I slightly open my eyes to see the person talking.

We were surrounded by a group of people dress in normal clothes. Their appearance looked like normal human beings. I felt relaxed.

We could talk this out like civilized people. Not until they started to attack us, did they have magical powers like Roland.

"Nika...Nika helps us!" Roland yelled when he realized they were too many of them for him to handle alone. Norinika and Deminika appeared from nowhere and stood beside us.

"Nancy close your eyes," Norinika commanded. I quickly obeyed.

"You can open them now," she ordered.

I swiftly opened my eyes. We were in a dark room that looked like an old library.

"Where are they? Where are we? How did we get here? Oh my God, what is happening?" I cried freaking out of my mind.
