"Mr Harris. Hello"
Sang Woo had an amiable smile while greeting Harris. As for why Sang Woo had come to talk to Harris, it was because he could tell that this man was the most likely to help him. Sang Woo couldn't be sure about the girls in the group but he could already tell that this big guy was innocent and naive. He had remembered that Harris was the person who had shouted to everyone to rush into this building and how he tried to calm Dean into talking to him.
"Hmm?"
"Oh Mr Sing wool? What is it, I'm in a bit of a hurry"
Sang Woo crinkled his eyebrows and his smile wavered hearing his name be so wrong. He could only continue to act friendly and not show his frustration towards the man in front of him. Sang Woo kept on facing disrespect from this group, he couldn't wait to make them face the consequence. He sighed heavily inside and continued with his act.
"It's Sang Woo but Mr Harris, why are you in such a hurry?"
"I'm sorry Mr Sang Woo but I can't tell you"
"Ahh don't be like that, I was just curious and thought that you would want some help"
"Oh ummm"
"You don't have to worry, I'm a nice person and I think that everyone should help each other to survive but if you don't want my help then… "
Harris nodded silently while being in deep thought.
'If this man helps us, we can collect more supplies easier. I also want to save the other people inside the building. Hhmm but I don't think I should tell him about Dean's plan'
Harris thought back to when he and Dean were investigating the brains. He had remembered how Dean was reluctant to tell other people what he had found. It would be the same with the new information that the group had just gained. Harris didn't want the other people inside to all die while only their group retreats preemptively. Although he also felt that he shouldn't tell Dean's plan without his permission. He was divided on what he should do. He could be selfish and try to save everyone or he could be trustworthy to Dean and keep the plan a secret.
"Mr Harris I'm the leader of the biggest group of people in the store, if you need help just say so"
Harris wasn't smart enough to hide his emotions on his face, which led Sang Woo to accurately judge what he was thinking and tried to flip his thoughts.
"Okay Mr Sang Woo, I'll tell you somethings"
Harris hoped that his decision in telling Sang Woo to evacuate the building was the correct choice. He was still someone that wished to save as many people as possible. Although he could ruin his short friendship with Dean, it would leave a more bitter taste in his mouth to indirectly have people killed for not warning them.
During the talk between the two, Dean was listening to their conversation behind a shelf. Dean had thought about interrupting their conversation but came up with a devious plan to better the odds of their survival. He then walked away to go find someone.
Later in the evening the group had brought all the supplies to the break room.
"I'll teach you what to make, so just watch me for now"
Dean had begun to craft weapons that would help them escape the next day.
Dean already had some ideas on what to craft. He had played survival games such as Dying Light and Rust and had some knowledge for what a weapon should be.
He first started modifying the shabby brooms. He had securely embedded a knife blade at the tip of the broom to make a spear type weapon. They had only found 2 more knives as many other people had taken them after seeing Dean hack the heads of the zombies. Dean wanted to do the same for all of them but could only be satisfied with having this many. He then crudely sharpened the remaining brooms to make them more deadly.
He had wanted to make a man catcher/catchpole as the plan wasn't to kill but to stop and retreat. Having something to stop a charge out of reach of the attacker would be super valuable. Evidence was that police in Japan and China were capable of stopping a man double or even triple their own size with these tools. However Dean didn't have the right tools to make one that would reliably stop a zombie without breaking.
Dean then started to make the next weapon, a Molotov. Although fire would take a long time to kill a zombie, it was still an effective weapon. The store didn't have that many concentrated alcohols. There were wines but those were mostly made of water and weren't flammable enough. There was plenty of hand sanitizer due to a contagious disease that had appeared before the world had ended. Hand sanitizer had a high alcohol content, and would help start a fire.
Dean had poured a bottle of hand sanitizer and concentrated disinfectant into a glass beer bottle. He then soaked a rag in the same solution and plugged the bottle with it.
Dean also started to make a smoke screen. Many people should already know what happens when baking soda and vinegar mixes. A reaction similar to a volcano's eruption would occur. Although it wasn't a typical smoke screen it would have the same effects if it covered the eyes.
The group had started to follow what Dean had shown them. Dean had one final weapon but Harris was still currently working on it.
Abigail was currently packing the bags with Sophia's help. They had to prioritise what they should take as it couldn't be too heavy. First aid supplies were necessary, food and water were slightly less as they could always salvage for more. Some room also needed to be taken up by daily necessities, there were 3 adult females in the group and they needed their "supplies".
It wasn't till late in the night that the group had finished using all the supplies that they had gathered. There was a massive stack of molotovs and smoke screens on the table. The group then decided to sleep in the room with each other.
They didn't have any separate rooms or beds but it would be a better idea to sleep close with others now just in case. This was the apocalypse and they couldn't let their guard down with people that they didn't know. It was much safer to sleep inside this room instead of outside in the open.
Dean waited for everyone to sleep. He left the room quietly making sure that no one in the group could hear him leave.
Dean needed to prepare his hidden plan now that he wasn't being watched.
He didn't need that much sleep anyways since he was used to staying up later than this. He had one too many days without sleep grinding in an MMO game that had just launched.
'Someone's following me'
As Dean was walking around the store he could feel that someone was following with his senses. He could feel that his senses were growing stronger by the second, he could now perceive things 5 meters away from him. It was like a sixth sense and hard to explain.
By putting something in front of you then closing your eyes, you would still know the distance and how to touch that thing. You didn't use any 5 senses to know where it was. This was similar to how Dean was sensing this person following him. It was like he was judging and estimating the space with his perception.
His body was also starting to feel lighter with more time, Dean couldn't have this person following him so he decided to lose him.
The man was uncaringly tailing Dean; he didn't care that Dean had turned a corner as the aisle was too long to reach the other side, even if one sprinted.
"Shit how did he disappear?"
He could no longer think about what had happened as someone had hit his head and made him unconscious.
Dean had noticed that the person tailing him didn't care that he wasn't in their sight, so as soon as Dean had turned the corner he had swiftly ran to the other side and ran back to hit the person who was following him.
'Fast'
'I'm not even tired after running that fast and distance in such a short time'
He had run 60 meters in 5 seconds, which was comparable to a Usain Bolt running at their top speed as soon as they started. Dean was fit compared to an average person, but would never have been able to compete with a top athlete.
If an average person's stats were like this
Strength: 5
Endurance: 5
Agility: 5
Perception: 3
And a top athlete would have stats of
Strength: 10
Endurance: 12
Agility: 12
Perception: 5
Dean would have had stats in the middle. He was better than an average person but worse than an athlete. Now he had stats that would look like this
Strength: 12
Endurance: 12
Agility: 13
Perception: 10
'I wonder how much stronger I will become when the first stage of mutation is complete'
'Sighh.. There is still too much that I don't know, for all I know is that I'm the only person that has mutated'
Dean looked at the man on the ground and smiled wickedly remembering that this man was under Sang Woo.
'This strength should be more than enough to start a war with them. Though it's not like this place is going to be safe after tomorrow'
