A doctor was going over her information, sitting on the stool. Aileen entered, and she looked up. "Good morning, how are we feeling?" she asked, standing up and shaking her hand. "Good," Aileen replied with a smile. "Take a seat on the table," the doctor said, wearing gloves. "I am Dr. Maria, and I overlook injuries and wounds in the Spirit bones. Please take off your clothes." Aileen thought she misunderstood her words. "I'm sorry what?" she asked Maria, who chuckled lightly. "It's alright. We need to do a full body examination, it's for your benefit."
Aileen felt embarrassed as she stripped naked in front of the doctor. Yes, the doctor was female, but that she was staring right at her made her uncomfortable. Once naked, Maria instructed her to lie down on the bed. "It's cold," Aileen said, looking at the white roof. "It will only take a minute. Just keep answering my questions, and you won't feel uncomfortable." Aileen nodded.
"Do you have any food allergies?" Maria lifted Aileen's arm and surveyed every inch.
"No," Aileen said abruptly, holding down the feeling of attacking the doctor.
"Any previous accidents?" she turned Aileen's neck sideways to inspect it.
"No."
Aileen felt Maria's hand going down her body, scrutinizing every inch. She kept looking straight up, and just as the doctor had promised, the examination was completed in one minute. "You can get dressed now." She said, taking off her gloves and walking over to the white table. Aileen didn't hesitate a second and quickly jumped from the table and started putting on her clothes.
"You are healthy by far, and now I just need to take your blood for some tests," Maria said, holding a syringe and a small glass tube for blood. "I hope you don't fear needles." Aileen looked at the small needle and gulped, "Nope." She lied, not wanting to look weak. After all, she was going to be taking part in the best of them all.
When Aileen got out of the room, she saw a few eyes on her while others were discussing in their groups. She wondered how long will it take for her mother to arrive? How can I persuade her? Aileen tried to come up with explanations that her mother would accept, but it was impossible. I can't let this opportunity go to waste. I need to do something. Aileen thought as she walked out of the hallway and mindlessly toured the mansion. The rule handbook. An answer popped into her head. There must be something about staying, something which can hold me down here. I can find a loophole. Happy with the solution, Aileen tried to figure out where to find the Policies and Rule handbook.
When she looked up at where she was standing, Aileen realized she was lost. "Where am I?" she said, turning around to look for the path where she had initially come from. The wide hallway was empty. She could hear the wood creaking under her weight. The light golden walls were filled with pictures of original members of the Summit Claws, the ruling government of the werewolves. She saw Alpha, Beta, and Omega, from the earliest age, until now. She saw Henry Barham as the Beta, who is in charge of the missions and overseeing the training and selection of the Spiriters. Omega is to keep peace with humans and Silvercrown walkers. A community of the richest and noblest werewolves who live among humans and mate only with them.
Aileen once saw a Silvercrown girl, a beautiful, tall wolf, with a face of an angel and a heart like a devil. She watched her take a human boy in the alley and, after mating with him, she ripped out his heart and dragged him back to her community. Aileen shuddered at the memory, which resurfaced suddenly. Aileen walked a few more steps, her head turned towards the portraits and her eyes skimming on the faces of people she had only heard stories about. Suddenly, she bumped into a wall. "Oomph!" she groaned, taking a few steps back, massaging her forehead.
"I thought we had a deal?" a familiar voice made her look up with surprise. A boy with black hair and gray-blue eyes. It was Roy.
