As Tang Ning was organising her things to leave, Ms Fang came to her and said," Tang Ning right?" "Yes," she nodded, smiling at the woman. "I would have never thought that you're my niece's friend. How small this world is," she said. So she remembered her, she thought. "Yes. I couldn't help but get surprised too when I saw you," she replied.
"Alright. I will give your details to our boss and also inform him how you helped little Huan. That way, you will have higher chances in getting the job," she said and before Tang Ning could say anything, the door was opened and came a small voice. "Aunty Fang, I am hungry," little Huan came in saying and when she saw the other person in the room, she beamed a smile at her and said," Pretty auntie! What are you doing here? Are you going to be our new nanny?"
Tang Ning squatted to face her and said," I would love to. Tell me, how are you?" "I'm fine," she replied, the smile never leaving her face. She looked up to meet her nanny and said," Aunt Fang, I want the pretty auntie to be my nanny."
She smiled back and said," I will tell your daddy about it and I'm sure he will agree to it. Let's go get you something to eat. Where's your brother?"
"He's in his room. He said he doesn't want to be bothered," she said pouting her lips. "Alright," replied the woman and she looked at Tang Ning to say," You will receive a call soon."
"Bye bye pretty auntie. I will be waiting to see you again," she said waving at her and Tang Ning did the same in return. She was so adorable. But it was a pity that the twins had busy parents who couldn't take care of them, she thought as she walked out of the room.
...
A black sedan entered the gates of the house and it drove towards the parking lot. Leaning against the seat, Jing Yue closed his eyes and released a deep breath. He sat in silence as he contemplated his life. It's been four years ever since he lost his wife and up to now, he was still devastated.
A long while later, he got his brief case and coat before getting out of the car. Walking towards the house, he passed by a number of servants who bowed and greeted him, as he nodded at them.
"Young Master," came Ms Fang and he turned to look at her. "Welcome back," she said.
"Thank you," he replied. "I wanted to talk to you about the new nanny," she informed him.
"Not now Ms Fang. I want to have a rest. Have a good night," he said and turned to leave when he looked at her and asked," How are they?" "The twins? They are well," she said and he nodded before continuing.
After completing the staircase, he was yet to turn right towards his room when he saw that the lights in his daughter's room were still on.
He frowned and checked his wrist watch to see that it was coming to ten.
He turned left to first check what the stubborn creature was still doing awake this late.
He reached for the doorknob and opened it slowly to see her busy laying on the bed, writing something. He cleared his throat and she turned to see him then immediately hid the book under the pillow.
He smirked and went in, then closed the door behind him. "What is this sneaky little thing still doing this late?" he asked as he walked towards her bed. She smiled sheepishly and sat down before saying," Nothing."
He bent and removed the pillow before getting her diary. "Let me see what we have here," he said as he took a seat on her bed.
"Daddy that is my diary," she said pouting her lips. "I know but I am your father. You shouldn't hide anything from me." He looked at what she had written, about someone called pretty auntie and he frowned. "Who is this pretty auntie?" he asked looking at her. She smiled before saying," Pretty auntie is the one I told you about yesterday. The one who helped me find aunt Fang and Juan at the mall."
"She was here?" he asked. "Yes daddy and I want her to be my nanny," she said.
The frown on his face deepened. He was told about the woman who helped his daughter and hearing that the same person was here, he couldn't help but wonder if she was stalking them. "Will you do that for me daddy?" she asked. "You should go to sleep Jing Huan. It's getting late," he told her covering the book. "First promise that you will choose the pretty auntie to be my nanny," she said. "I will speak to aunt Fang about it. Okay?" he asked and she nodded.
"Sleep now," he said getting up and she slipped inside the covers. Giving her a kiss on her forehead, he was yet to leave when she said," Don't leave daddy." With that, he walked to sit back on her bed and she crawled to place her head on his lap.
Jing Yue hate to admit that he wasn't a perfect father. First because after the death of his beloved wife, he had turned the blame onto their children and he refused to see them and it was until they made two years that he got to accept reality.
With the help of his parents and his wife's best friend Li Fei, he accepted the children and they moved in with him.
He also wasn't a perfect father because he loved his daughter the most because she looked exactly like her mother. Her eyes, her hair and the way she held herself constantly reminded him of the love of his life, Liling. His fingers weaved through her black hair, massaging her scalp so that she could sleep.
