When Lune enters the training grounds for the royal guards as that's reserved as the venue for magical studies, the other guards are murmuring to each other and Sol shushes them with a fierce glare, and before the tutor can say anything, Sol explains, "she is to watch and learn since she might have a good affinity in magic considering she is my twin."
"But his majesty doesn't-"
"She doesn't have to actively participate, so I presume it's not really a problem," now Lune knows that her twin somehow has the aura of a prince, since the tutor doesn't dare to question anything further, which works in her favor. Soon the tutor starts reviewing what he taught yesterday, and when both the tutor and Sol sit down in the lotus position, she tries to follow and the tutor starts instructing, "Now inhale, hold for five seconds and exhale, keep repeating that for the next ten minutes. Imagine the mana flowing in your body and try to gather all of them in one point."
'Breathing exercise?' Despite how sceptical with all this, Lune tries her best to follow, even if it becomes something like what she often did during her yoga lessons in her past life. The breathing seems to be easy enough, but the imagination is what got her stuck, since she doesn't exactly understand gathering the mana to one point.
She continues to be diligent in this and closes her eyes, focusing, until she keeps hearing exclaims and shouting from the guards, and when she opens her eyes, she is curious to why they look so small to her, like they are below her. She takes a quick glance at her legs, only to find the ground beneath her is lost, and an odd looking orb is surrounding her and only her. Lune is still in a daze until she realizes she is floating, and loses her balance when the orb is gone and she starts falling to the ground really fast.
'This is it. I'm dying, again.' Trying her best to accept her fate, she shuts her eyes tightly, waiting for the impact, hoping that there's not much pain, until she feels warmth enveloping her. A few applauses and cheers can be heard, and she opens her eyes only to see Sol is carrying her bridal style, with a smirk on his face, "that's my sister, awakening to your magic prowess so soon."
"As much gratitude I have for saving me, can you put me down already, my dear brother?"
After putting her down back to the ground, the tutor who was in shock has an expression of delight and claps once, "this is marvelous! I think I should report this to his majesty immediat-"
"Not so fast," Sol says and he puts one of his hands on his waist, "you can report that after the lesson. Please go ahead and teach her the fundamentals to control her magic."
He nods a little too eager for someone his age and agrees, "certainly! Now, I think we should continue on with our next exercise, and that's to focus all your mana to your hand, and release it to the training dummies over there," he points to the wooden poles that have wear and tear on them, and while Lune thinks about how to do that, Sol suddenly tells her, "just relax and continues the breathing, it will help."
And she does just that, which makes a little water orb appear on her palm soon, and when she gets a little too excited that her breathing is interrupted, the water disappears. Frowning, she wonders if she can conjure other elements other than just water. 'Fire sounds so cool! Or even shooting ice like those cool looking ice mages in those mangas I read befor-'
It's a little disappointing when there's nothing else that appears after that little orb from earlier no matter how hard she tries, and when she is sitting on a bench thinking about how many years she might need to pick this up, the guards exclaims and she turns to see Sol is having a ball of fire on his palm before throwing it at the dummies, burning them to ashes. The tutor seems really pleased and he starts clapping, "marvelous! Your control on fire elemental magic are considered rare among the talented mages, an early congratulation is in ord-"
"If you can talk this much, I assume you're qualified to teach more, right?"
The tutor lowers his head and apologizes, and just when Lune thought about how scary her brother can be, the clock bell rings, signifying it's four o'clock in the afternoon. Lune quickly gets up when she realizes she almost forgot the meeting with Chilve and runs off, ignoring Sol who is trying to stop his sister, "where is she going?"
