Chereads / His Moonlight / Chapter 35 - Frozen

Chapter 35 - Frozen

Lune really doesn't want to, but considering the current circumstances, the rest of them had to move on since they are not welcomed in Tera after the little stunt from her twin. Though Vivian seems to be sticking with him no matter what's happening and Lune just wants to be out of here before things worsen. Sol on the other hand decided to stay and handle the mess using his status as the prince, making his own adventure life on hold until things in Tera are solved.

Right now they are on the move again after Lisa and Vivian bidding farewell a little tearfully after they bonded quite well for the past few days, and right now Lune seems to be deep in her own thoughts again while Lisa is discussing where to go with Chilve. The albino asks the blonde whether she wants to see a huge waterfall and he taps on her head when she doesn't answer, making her wince from the little pain and she pouts, "what is it?"

"Do you want to see a huge waterfall? Perhaps you can even train your water magic a little bit more with the help of nature."

Her face expression revealed that she doesn't pay enough attention to their current conversation, and Chilve sighs and asks, "are you really alright?"

"Y-yeah!" Lune frowns when he doesn't buy it and his face gets near hers, where she can feel his breath and she stutters, "wh-what?"

"Are you that worried?"

"No?" Lisa seems to have spotted something in the meantime, and she shouts at them to get their attention, effectively saving Lune from being questioned further by Chilve, "over here! I can see the path leading towards the waterfall, possibly."

"Then let's go," they start walking together in silence, where it's mainly Lisa doing the talking about her previous adventure where she met with a certain ice mage during a dungeon run, and he actually froze the whole place AND his teammates, and she actually shouted while Lune is stunned with the view in front of them.

They have arrived at the waterfall alright, but no wonder there's no sound of running water, since it's freezing all over!

"Don't tell me that guy is here right after I told a story about him."

Lune is still stunned with how the ice around doesn't really melt, and when she wonders how nice it will be to have Sol with his fire magic to melt all these back to liquid, Chilve seems to have straighten up and lets out a huge sigh, "this is not the work of a mage, it's a magical beast, possibly a five star."

"Five star?! Then we should probably go back to safety before getting back up for this," Lisa turns to walk away and she is confused when the other two didn't move an inch, "what are you two doing? Let's go."

"Chilve, you can handle this one yourself don't you?"

"Indeed. Looks like you made up your mind to face this too, don't you?" He smiles at the blonde when she looks determined unlike earlier where she seems lost and she cracks her knuckles a little, "then I'm facing this beast as a challenge. If my life is in danger, then do help me out."

"Are you both crazy? I know you guys are strong but we are talking about a five star here, and if it's an ice elemental, we don't have anything advantageous for now."

"The more disadvantageous it seems, the more experience we will gain after defeating it, right Chilve?" He nods from Lune's question and he chuckles, "this is what I love about you, your fighting spirit."

"Shut up."

Lisa gets herself ready by equipping arrows that are imbued with fire magic, just in case they need the backup despite how much they said no earlier. Chilve on the other hand is just double checking some supplies he has, just in case they got hurt and needed some boost, while Lune focuses on her sword and makes sure her water magic is working, and nods at the albino for the signal. He then releases his killing instinct to spread around the area, which will attract and lure strong beasts towards him, and Lisa takes this chance to quickly hide somewhere not so noticeable so she can ambush the enemy.

And yes, the very one that freezes the whole waterfall and the river is a huge silverish dragon that breathes ice instead of fire. Chilve starts getting into a fighting stance while Lune starts focusing, dodges a few icy spikes and launches a few water orbs to the dragon's face, taunting him to come closer so she can ride it and stab it with her sword.

A few flaming arrows fly fast past Lune's side, making her almost turn to see where Lisa is but resisted since dragons are creatures intelligent enough in learning how to speak the human tongue based on mortal records and she might expose her position. The arrows hit the dragon and it roars, making the trees shake while Lune is trying to make sure she doesn't fly away and before she knows it, Chilve holds her tightly and he runs towards the distracted beast, and successfully grabs its tail and starts climbing towards its back. The blonde is a little disappointed that she doesn't grab this chance instantly, and continues dodging the attacks where it is obviously a little more sluggish than earlier.

After the albino succeed in reaching the neck of the dragon, he asks Lune with his eyes and she understands immediately, where she nods and he slashes its neck with his long nails, making it growls from the pain and Lisa shoots more arrows towards its eyes, where she misses and Chilve seems to have shouted at her, "don't shoot its eyes! It might trash the whole forest area if he ever loses the sight."

Before they can proceed with the next move, the dragon's body suddenly shines so brightly, making Lune closes her eyes automatically and when she heard Chilve's groaning, she tries to open her eyes only to see the dragon is gone.

But a miniature size dragon is in place, hurt from the neck injury and shivering while Chilve is rubbing his neck wondering what to do with this development.
