The atmosphere in the adventurers guild is as lively as it gets when evening approaches, where most of the adventurers are drinking after being finally done for the day, contributing to noise pollution all around the little building. Most of them are bragging about their loots for the day, and some share a few interesting tales they heard during their adventures, where some can be a little repetitive once their number of drinks on their table is increasing.
And of course, there are times where the loud adventurers can be quiet when needed to, especially when something that caught their eyes is within their range of view. Jane loves it when it's quiet and noisy when needed, since it's proof that they are all alive and well.
Though lately, the reason for them to be quiet seems to be only one, and that's whenever a certain blonde adventurer comes in with a redhead and a snow white reptile which is often seen on the blonde's shoulder. Rumors go around them like a blazing fire across a grass field that this little adventurer had tamed a huge dragon, killed a beast like companion of hers, and even has questionable lineage with the prince of their kingdom.
The very one of their rumors is now taking a seat on a table with her two companions if the reptile is considered one, and while they are speaking to each other with hush tones, Lune sighs from the unwanted attention and their lifesaver, Jane, comes to their table, "the usual again?"
"Yes please. Is there no news of Chilv-" Jane shakes her head as the answer and Lune sighs in disappointment, again. Once she leaves them, Lisa who just finished her glass of drink asks, "why can't you just forget about him?"
"How can you just forget about someone that was close to you?"
"Well it's easy," Snow climbs down from Lune's shoulder take a nap on the table surface and Lisa starts stroking it's back, wondering how Snow never have problem condensing itself into this size even though it's original form is almost as tall as a building, "if he doesn't bother coming back for you after years, then it's not worth keeping him close to your heart."
"It's only two years."
"Two years is a long time."
'Lisa is right, no one is sane enough to wait for something to romantically happen even in a fantasy world like this.' Sighing from how much she is affected by Chilve, Jane comes back just in time with warm food, and Snow who was napping gets up and eyes at the huge bird roast that is prepared just for her, "eat up Snow, but keep your manners."
Just when her spoon that is filled with a bite of food is reaching her lips, someone approaches them and she sighs, knowing it's a rude jerk that looks down on them just because they are girls, "oi you two, come over and serve us beer and make yourselves useful instead of leaching off from other male adventurers!"
Some of the jerk's friends seem to be enjoying the situation and starts laughing at the jerk's 'clever joke', and while Lune really feels like just bashing them so much that they will regret ever laughing at them, the first to actually get annoyed at this is Snow, where it hisses at the jerk and he starts taunting her, "and what do you have here? An overgrown lizard as a pet? Bah! These things are annoying to kill, but it's easily done by seasoned adventurers like myself!"
His friends laugh again and before Snow can freeze all of them with an icy breath, Lune stops Snow by putting a hand in front of her and shakes her head, since it would be bad if Snow's species is revealed, and she stands up to look at the jerk in the eye, "you have three seconds to move aside."
"What? Or else? Are you going to make me cry?"
The group laughs again and when some of the other adventurers are nervous with this interaction, the blonde starts counting, "one."
Without any fear in his voice, he just continues counting for her, "two~"
"Three."
For a moment, nothing happened. The fellow friends of the bully laugh at how empty the blonde's threat was, and when one of them tries to greet the jerk, the latter suddenly lunges forward while clutching on his stomach and finally falls down on the floor, with bubbles foaming in his mouth. One of them starts shouting and Jane who is finally fed up with the situation finally steps in, "get him out of here for treatment, and stop fighting!"
Someone claps amidst the chaos. While the others are occupied with carrying the fainted guy out of the building, Lune turns to the direction of the clapping and sees a girl sitting on a counter, wearing a type of a traditional looking one piece garment, and she seems to be quite delighted at the scene.
And her voice, her voice sounds like someone that sings the whole day with how melodious her tone can get, "bravo. You exceeded my expectations."
"Your expectation? Who are you? Do I know you?" Lune is getting ready herself to fight another if she has to, considering most strangers have been hostile to her even though they never knew the real her, "you can save your energy. I'm here to escort you to someone."
"That's a lame attempt at kidnapping."
"Ah forgive my manners, since it's been a while I'm mingling with mortals," the girl gets down from the counter and now with her full height visible, it seems she is a little taller than Lune, "my name's Rin. I'm actually on orders to escort a girl with the name Lune Lumiere and her companions to my alpha."
'My alpha?' Rin can hear Lune's increasing heartbeat, and she smiles thinking it's a good thing, "so shall we? Or do you need time to get your bearings?"
Lisa looks at their facial expressions and she asks Lune, "what is going on?"
"Leave," and Lune turns away from the messenger.
