Swveny was one of the glorious city of the kingdom in history, filled of tall buildings built by engineers and architects that are geniuses of the mankind, fell to ruins when the very first alpha werewolf is born from a failed experiment, which is the ritual used until today for ascending the victor of the alpha fight to become the next alpha. The first alpha was so confused with his new body constitution that he killed his creators at that time, and blended in among the mortals like nothing happened. Soon, he started transforming and one by one, the mortals were turned into werewolves, leaving no mortal behind.
This also indicates the fact that werewolves are the descendents of Swveny's ancient population, and when centuries went by, there are separate packs that are led by different alphas scattered all around the world, but the oldest and the original pack still uses Swveny as their hometown, which happens to be Chilve's pack.
Once the takeover is officially done, the albino slumps back to his seat while one of the elders turns to look at him, "my lord, I believe it's time you address the next agenda on hand."
'I hope Ford and Rin are doing their job properly-' his thoughts are interrupted when a word from the elder makes him frown, "-to find a mate."
"What?"
"Must I remind you, that it's due time for you to find a suitable mate, breeding the next generation of excellent genes?" Well, Chilve is never a person that listens to the elders, but hearing the word breeding makes him imagine Lune and his children running around and conquering the world, where he immediately smiles at the little dream and nods, "regarding this matter, it will be soon."
"The council has heard the word soon for a while now, I doubt-"
Slamming his palms on the armrest, his blue eyes glares at the elder who cowers a little from the intimidation, "I sent my most trusted friend to fetch my mate over, and it will be a matter of time before we mate officially and you will see pups running around soon."
"Fetch? Does this mean your mate is a mortal?" He nods at the question and the elder looks a little surprised, "are you going to turn her before tying the knot? A mortal is definitely not welcomed permanently here."
"Due to circumstances," he feels stupid for trying to explain that he will not force Lune to do anything she doesn't and he will win her heart with the proper steps, "it will be done after she said yes. Do not interfere with this matter."
The elder council exits the meeting hall and Chilve sighs, knowing that Lune might reject his proposal even though they are soulmates according to the moondrop legend. She is a free person, and a mortal, not to mention a princess of a kingdom. Hardship is to be expected, but he just hopes she will accept his love unconditionally.
Talking about the proposal, he should really get everything prepared and are in order. If a little something brings the whole thing down, the feeling of regret will be devastating to have. Once he enters his personal bedroom, he looks around only to find a few things that should be there missing.
Coming out from his room, he is still fuming and finally spotted one of the helps that is in charge of cleaning with his apron on, "do you see-"
"My lord! Is there anything I can do for you?" Chilve's headache is getting more and more obvious from all the flattery of the other wolves, and he sighs, "do you see who cleaned my room earlier?"
"That was me. Wait, there's nothing wrong is it?"
"Then do you see a certain purple colored box on my desk?" The young help is trying his best to recall, and he starts trembling thinking it's his own fault, "I apologize my lord! I don't think I've seen that. I deserve a punishment for my lack-"
His eyes grow wide like saucers when Chilve just sighs louder and waves, "can you check and see if there's anyone else that sees that? Treat this as the highest priority."
He quickly bows at how benevolent he seems unlike the rumors and brisk walk towards wherever he was going. Chilve often wonders why some alphas love to abuse their role, and since most of the wolves from the other pack that just joined them recently become the help of the pack, he doesn't get it until now.
Their previous alpha is definitely a jerk.
Luckily they found the lost item, where it had accidentally dropped into the trash bin and after they keep apologizing to Chilve, he tells them not to worry about it and he is now back in his room, staring at the box. His fingers trace the outline of the box until he finally opens it, revealing a huge light blue pearl inside and he takes it out, which happens to be crafted into a ring.
'I can't wait to see this on her finger, it would be so gorgeous.'
His little alone time is interrupted when someone knocks on his room door, which he hisses from being disturbed, closing and putting the ring box safely in a drawer, and opens the door, revealing Adam Barin. Before he can even opens his mouth to say anything, Chilve rolls his eyes and reconfirms, "you're challenging me again, right?"
"Same rules, same place, don't be late."
It's funny how Adam can just ask to duel Chilve for the alpha position for years without any signs of stopping him from asking again after losing. That's also the very trait that Chilve finds interesting in, which makes him let him do whatever he wants despite the long history of losing streak record Adam has. Normally losers of an alpha duel will just leave the pack, or some even go ahead to commit suicide due to the shame of losing, but definitely not Adam.
'At least I have something to distract myself from thinking of ways Lune might reject me.'
