It is not in his original plan to attend Lune's coming of age ceremony, but when he realized he did have some free time for it, he went out to take a quick peek of her, which was a good thing he did since he even got to have a dance with her and a little chat. Though he was surprised to see that the flower is still intact until today, which makes the little reunion much more special than usual. Grinning from ear to ear, he is now having his mind wandering about how he should present himself better when travelling with Lune that he doesn't register the fact that someone's been trying hard to get his attention, "moon to Chilve???"
His expression turns from dreamy to scowling when he realizes his long time rival, Adam, is standing in front of him, "tsk, what do you want?"
"What do I want? We are waiting for your opinion on what we are going to do with that stupid pack ruining our cash flow, dude," Chilve is impressed that someone like Adam has the patience to stay with the pack until today, considering he often butt heads with Chilve here, not approving his way of doing things as the alpha, "easy, give them some warning. We don't want to alert the city folks that two packs of werewolves are in the same town with them, right?"
Adam looks like he wants to punch Chilve in the face badly after hearing that, "duh, we did that for months and they are still not yielding. Obviously they need to see that we are serious in our little threats."
'Then why are you here asking for my opinion? Just go and get them all down.' Ford suddenly enters the room they are using for the little meeting and he exclaims, "my lord! It seems you're right when you said they could be doing something illegal. I found the evidence."
"Then it's settled, we are going to flaunt their dirty laundry to the authorities, so they will be stuck handling that while we can continue our business," Chilve smirks a little from how speechless Adam looks like right now at how he already asked Ford to snoop around, "anything else, Adam?"
Adam shakes his head and he walks out of the room wordlessly, and Ford asks, "my lord, should we start now?" And before he can ask anything further, Chilve gets up from his seat and waves, "I have something else to do, please take care of the evidence."
"But-" and he is gone like the wind, leaving no trace of him in the room. Ford wonders if it's related to the princess he met last night, and he chuckles from the thought that Chilve might make the girl his mate soon, considering Chilve is already been an alpha since young, making lots of the elders to doubt his capabilities and he had to prove himself through hard work despite winning fair and square in the battle with the previous alpha, Gavin.
And Ford might be right, since Chilve is having the thoughts of making Lune his mate, though he knows he will need time to impress her since she is a human, and she will need some time to adjust to the customs of the werewolves before he can break the news that he likes her romantically, not just platonic. He smiles when he sees his destination in sight, and silently hopes that Jane is no longer working there, since it could be awkward considering he is the one that stole the moondrop and acted like an innocent passerby. 'Maybe I should apologize to her properly if I see her.'
Pushing through the wooden doors, he is quite surprised to see it's still Jane manning the counter, but now with more wrinkles on her face, considering that's what the years will change someone. She is carrying a toddler on her back, with a few children that are helping out with her on the chores around the guild, and when he approaches the counter, she doesn't seem to recognize him, "hello! Welcome to the adventurers' guild, I'm the receptionist here, Jane. Are you here to request or to take a request?"
"Did you settle down and have a family? I guess the years have not been too harsh on you, Jane," the surprise look on her face makes him chuckle at how she can make that kind of face, "wait, could it be, are you-"
He doesn't let her finish her sentence since she is stuttering, "It's been many years since we last met," and she giggles, "Chilve! My, how much you have grown! You were just a baby the last time I saw you!"
"A 12 year old is not considered a baby."
She smacks his arm and laughs, "anyone younger than me at that time is a baby. Now what makes you come back to this shithole? You," she looks up and down at his appearance and giggles, "don't look like someone that needs to do guild requests for a living. So are you here to request something?"
"Actually, I have a friend who is eager to be an adventurer, so I'm hoping to help register her identification since I remember there's a long waiting list to get the licensing," she nods at that and he continues, "I want to impress her, show her that I do have some connections."
"Of course! Anything for you," he feels a little sorry that she is willing to help him out, so he decides to come clean, "actually, do you still remember the moondrop thief incident?"
"Tsk, don't remind me. I had to answer lots of questions from the authorities and no other adventurers like you that can find a moondrop after that, which makes everyone banning this particular request," and she tilts her head to the side when Chilve frowns, "what's wrong?"
"Actually, I was the one that took it."
.
..
…
"YOU WHA-" he is saved when the toddler at Jane's back starts crying from the loud noise, and she tries to coos him down, and when Chilve puts down a huge bag on the counter, he sighs, "this is the compensation for a foolish thing I did in the past, with interest. Please accept it, and there's also money for the registration in there anyway."
Jane takes a peek at the inside and sees shining coins inside, making her gasp from the amount and she looks up, "where did you even earn this huge amount of money?"
He grins and snaps his fingers, "I'm just a lucky banker."
