Chapter 43 - Vol. 2: Chp 43 Suru Tassei's Deal

"So… How are we going to do this?"

With the addition of Tanjo's questioning, all of the students from class 1AB can be seen standing outside on the school's training field in a horizontal line, standing tall in preparation for their next orders.

Mr. Oshieru was standing in front of the class, facing all of the students with his arms folded into his chest. "As I said before, you will be learning how to form a proper genso-kyu. Now, you might not be able to form one correctly today-- but, over time, you will definitely make it become second nature to you." Mr. Oshieru declared, staring at all six of his students.

With the clap of Mr. Oshieru's hands, he parted his lips to direct his class. "Now, I want all of you to get spaced apart from each other, just to make sure no one gets hurt," Oshieru ordered.

Mr. Oshieru watched as his students slowly situated themselves into their own spots on the school's field. After a minute or two has passed, Oshieru decided it was time to move on in the lesson.

"Now, I want you all to extend your arm outwards, make sure the front of your hand is facing upwards, like how I showed you in the classroom." Oshieru directed his students.

All of the students proceeded to slowly push out their arms, making sure that the palm they used to push out is facing the sky.

Oshieru then nodded at his students' actions, "For the next part; I want you to act as if you're pushing out magic like you usually do when preparing a beam."

Once that was said, every one of the students attempted to force out their magic, feeling the sudden waves of their aura through all of their arms.

Suddenly, a blue shine was emitted from each of the students' palms, getting bright and brighter by the second.

Mr. Oshieru looked at all of their hands intently, keeping an eye out for any complications. "Good. Now here's the hard part; I want you to focus all of your magic that is in your hand and manipulate it into a rotating movement."

The students of class 1AB made obvious attempts in forming a genso-kyu, but all of them failed miserably. Not even one of them was able to create a shape that resembled a sphere in the slightest.

"Why won't anything happen!?" Akogare yelled indignantly, glaring at his hand.

"I can't get anything!" Utsukushi joined in on the angry hollering, squeezing her wrist harder and harder in hopes of somehow succeeding.

Mr. Oshieru's left eyebrow rose in confusion, "I guess you guys are having a few difficulties." He noted, then sighing, "I'm not a fan of this, but I suppose it should help. If you can please cancel your magic flow and make both of your hands face each other; I'll show you how to create a genso-kyu more easily from there."

With the students cutting off their magic flow, They proceeded to move their second hand to the front of their body-- lining it up with the opposite hand.

"Now, do as you did before; but this time I want you to circulate your magic in both of your hands. Keep your hands close together so your aura can connect through both of your hands. Think of it like magnets getting attracted to each other." Mr. Oshieru further instructed, his hands remaining folded into his chest.

The teenagers allowed their magic to flow through their arms once again, keeping both of their palms close together.

Another bright blue shine illuminated in their palms, but this time-- the blue shine was getting mixed together. With the externally forced magic intertwining together from both palms, the students made another attempt to circulate their aura within them.

"I think I did it!" Naderamu hollered gleefully, staring at her hands intently.

In the students' hands, a ball shape began to mold into place. The whole class was in awe at the sudden transformation of magic. Or at least five of them were.

Everybody but one was able to form a ball shape, 'Why won't it work!?' Tanjo mentally shouted.

Tanjo was letting the magic flow through his hands, he was letting it circulate, as well as keeping his hands close together. 'So why isn't anything happening!?'

"Tanjo," Mr. Oshieru called out, "are you having trouble forming a ball shape?" He queried at Tanjo's visible frustration.

Tanjo didn't respond, but he did try to force even more magic outwards into his hands, hoping to get some kind of satisfaction.

Mr. Oshieru walked over to Tanjo, "Tanjo, I recommend that you don't apply more force to your magic. You might end up blasting your hand off or dealing with your magic's drawbacks at the very least. As I said earlier; Not everyone will be able to form a proper genso-kyu immediately." Oshieru explained, looking at Tanjo with an earnest expression.

"Yes, sir. I understand." Tanjo acknowledged glumly, canceling the magic in his hands.

"The main problem you're probably having is that you're pushing out your magic incorrectly. You might be applying too much pressure, resulting in it not being able to mold into any shape at all. If you think about aura prints; they don't take that much magic. They are one of the methods of controlling magic, the genso-kyu is just a method for longer and more effective magic." Mr. Oshieru informed, reasoning out Tanjo's possible problem.

"Alright, sir. What am I supposed to do now?" Tanjo queried, looking up at his teacher apprehensively.

"You keep trying. I do ask that you don't try this at home, or anywhere that is near any village folk." Mr. Oshieru declared, looking down at the frustrated jet-black-haired teenager before him.

Tanjo adorned a look of uncertainty, "Won't I get in trouble for using magic off academy grounds?"

Mr. Oshieru shook his head slowly, opening his lips to speak again. "I'll have the principal give you a card that contains your reasoning to ensure your safety from any law enforcement in the village. But do be aware that you still have restrictions with said card."

Tanjo looked up at his instructor with beaming admiration, "Thank you, Mr. Oshieru!" He then bowed in appreciation.

"It's fine, I want you all to benefit from these lessons. I'm aware that we can't train the amount we want within the academy's scheduling, so please find open areas that are also safe to practice as well. You guys aren't the first class to need access for such." Oshieru stated firmly.

Oshieru then clapped his hands, scaring Tanjo and garnering the attention of the whole class. "That is all we're doing today, you are now permitted to go home. We'll try to give you time within the academy hours to practice more. But we also still have in-class assignments to do!" Oshieru announced, receiving upset groans in response.

Tanjo can be seen walking on a village trail home. As Tanjo was traversing throughout the village, he was holding a small card in his hands, reading it as he walked.

Due to Tanjo not paying attention as to what was ahead of him on the trail; he bumped right into someone, making him stumble back a bit.

"Oh!" The figure he bumped into elicited a feminine gasp.

Tanjo then looked up, spotting who he bumped into. "Oh, hey! It's you again." He stated in surprise, looking at the person before him with wide eyes.

The person he bumped into was a lady with teal blue eyes and long cyan-colored hair that extended down to the mid-section of her back.

"Oh? do you remember my name?" The cyan-haired lady questioned, gently raising a brow.

Tanjo's brain was mush, he couldn't remember her name for the life of him. "Uhm was it.." He made a valiant attempt, "..Suburu?"

The cyan-haired woman giggled, stumping Tanjo even more. "No, but you're close." She then moved her hand in front of her, tapping Tanjo on the nose gingerly, "It's Suru; Suru Tassei."

It suddenly clicked for Tanjo, "Oh! I'm so sorry about that! I've just been busy with stuff that I nearly forgot about you! I'm also sorry I couldn't visit as you requested!" He then apologized.

"Hmm. Why don't we discuss this back at my place like last time, Tanjo?" The cyan-haired lady named Suru Tassei suggested, tilting her head slightly.

"Uhm." Tanjo stammered, "I kinda have to be somewhere, involving my academics. So I'm not entirely sure that I can go anywhere right now. Sorry!" Tanjo stated nervously, squinting his eyes in the process.

"Oh? Is that card you were looking at a part of your 'academics'?" Suru queried playfully.

"M-maybe." He answered, looking at his hands to see that he no longer had the card. "Or, at least it was."

Tanjo glanced back up at the cyan-haired lady, immediately spotting his card in her hands as she read it with a curious glint in her eyes.

"My, my? You need this for training, do you?" She gleefully asked, making Tanjo suddenly concerned.

"Listen, I-if I can just have it back, I'd really appreciate it." Tanjo nervously requested, extending his hand out to grab the card, but failing as the lady raised her own hand, making it just out of reach.

"Why don't we make a deal? If you can promise that you'll visit me more often; I'll give you your card back, as well as supply you with more than enough room to train." Suru rationalized, staring at the jet-black-haired teen with an expectant look.

"But I have someone at home waiting for me. I'm not sure that I can come home later than necessary." Tanjo notified, his eyes swaying from the card in Suru's hands to her eyes.

A smile graced Suru's lips. "I'm sure we could work something out with that supposed person--right?"

Tanjo gulped involuntarily. "M-maybe?"

"Great! Now, show me where you live!"

Hey! I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I wanted to use more of Suru Tassei. I have quite a few ideas on how she can be important to the story! Stay tuned for more.

Have a Good Day!
