Chapter 48 - Vol. 2: Chp. 48 My Hero! (Filler)

BURAUN VILLAGE

Currently, it is the advent of a new day. The sun was still rising from the horizon, while the people of Buraun were rousing from their beds and heading off to work.

In the village of Buraun, a woman with long blonde hair and a leathery black purse hanging loosely from her right shoulder exited a local bodega; a plastic bag was dangling from her left hand, its contents stretching the bag from inside. When the woman stepped out of the bodega, she walked over to a nearby alleyway right beside the bodega. She then stood still as she pulled out a small and silver phone-- typing different inputs into the phone and holding the small device up to her right ear.

After a few moments, the woman smiled in delight as the receiver of her dial answered. "Hey, Teikei! I'm on my way home now. Are you wanting me to stop by Okunai Furaipan and pick up some food on my way home?" The woman asked the other person on the phone, seemingly waiting for an answer.

Footsteps could then be heard getting closer to the woman on the phone. A shadow of a figure was moving fast across the walls of the two buildings the woman was between.

"Okay, I wi- Oh!" The woman fumbled, feeling a forceful grab on her wrist.

Looking up, she spotted a grey-hooded man. The hooded man pulled out a small knife and pointed the tip at her throat. "Give me everything you have, and hurry!" The man's rough voice spat out, his hand severely shaking in severe anticipation.

The woman didn't have the strength to properly formulate a sentence; so she quickly took off her leathery purse, handing it to the hooded mugger.

The man smiled greedily under the hood, revealing his crooked yellow teeth from behind his crusty and dry lips.

"Hey." A new voice called out in a stern tone, sounding as if it came from above.

The mugger halted his actions, looking up and spotting a man with long blue hair sitting on the ledge of the building up above. The newcomer swung one leg off of the ledge whilst the other leg rested sideways.

Acknowledging the man; the mugger hurried away, the leathery purse in his grasp. As the mugger ran out into the open, the long-blue-haired newcomer sighed, standing up and jumping after the hooded man.

The man in the grey hood was currently running through a crowd of people on a path throughout the village, attempting to flee from the blue-haired stranger. In the corner of his eye, he could spot the man who he could now fully see. The long-blue-haired man wore tight light-grey pants, a dark blue vest covering the majority of his torso, and a black shirt that resided underneath the vest-- covering his arms with long black sleeves.

'Must be someone important if they can just hop on the rooftops!' The mugger thought indignantly, trying to pay attention to what's in front of him as well as looking at his pursuer.

As the mugger ran in the crowd of people, knocking several village folks in the process, he finally reached the end of the path. Once he rounded a corner of a building, he looked all around, not spotting the dark-blue-vested man.

'I think I lost him.' The mugger in the grey hood exhaled, resting his back on the wall of a building. 'He probably lost me in all of those people.' He then smirked giddily. 'What a rush!'

As the man was relishing in his own thoughts, a shadow formed right in front of him. "Y'know, it wasn't very hard to spot you when you bulldozed through that crowd of people."

The mugger gasped, snapping his head to spot his pursuer standing right above him for the second time. As the mugger backed up, the man in the blue vest hopped down onto the ground, specs of dirt on the ground flew upwards from the impact; Eliciting another gasp from the mugger.

"How are we going to do this? I got to get to the academy in…" The blue-haired man paused, looking at his wrist as if he was looking at a watch. "Shit. I really need to get a watch." He mumbled in annoyance. "But I need to get to the academy in roughly ten minutes. So you decide on how you're going down," he explained, copious amounts of laziness lacing his tone.

That apparently aggravated the grey-hooded man, as he furrowed both of his brows from underneath his hood and gritted his teeth. "Why don't we fight then!? You don't look like the village warriors, and I've had some run-ins with the law!" The hooded man yelled in fury, grabbing the hems of his hood and pushing it back; revealing a very bald head.

The blue-vested man's drowsy eyes widened slightly in interest, 'Oh?'

The bald mugger grinned toothily, adorning a sadistic expression. "I may be a purple aura, but that doesn't mean I can't kick your ass! I've perfected my fighting techniques throughout my life. The damn council only caters to those with moderate wealth. The least you could do is run off and live your life serving the council as a slave!" The bald mugger exclaimed loudly.

The man in the vest seemed undeterred, the tired and bored look on his feature remaining. 'I understand that the laws might be unfair, but to ruin other people's days? Not a wise choice.' He mentally riposted, sighing afterward. "Alright, whatever. I'm not letting you run about. So We're going to have to go with what talked about at first and fight."

The bald man growled in irritation. "You asked for this!" He then shouted, dropping the leathery bag and sprinting towards the man in the dark blue vest.

The bald man pushed out his right arm, sending the small knife in his right hand towards his target.

*CLINK*

A different blade other than the bald man's appeared. The man in the vest had pulled out a tachi blade to halt the oncoming attack.

The two blades were rattling as they were getting pushed together. In response; the bald mugger put his other hand on the hand of the knife, adding the strength of a second arm. 'Huh!?'

Even with the bald man using both of his arms to push his knife forward. The man in the vest still managed to push back the bald mugger's knife with his tachi blade. The man in the vest's arm wasn't even shaking in the slightest from the pressure of the mugger's attack.

"Was that your 'technique'? To just swing your knife and hope to land a hit on your opponent? My students could do better than that." The long-blue-haired man sighed once again. 'I'm just wasting my time.'

A vein bulged out of the bald man's head. "RAHH!" He then released a battle cry, lifting his leg and shoving it forward to kick his opponent. The kick landed on the blue-haired man's knee, but the man remained unmoved. 'What the hell!? Is he made of steel!?' The bald man huffed internally.

"I can smell your breath. It stinks." The long-blue-haired man stated, pushing his arm out and shoving the bald mugger back with one arm, making him land on his butt.

'I didn't think I'd need to use my aura so early in this, but I have no choice!' The bald mugger breathed in, letting his magic flow through his body and limbs.

The bald mugger proceeded to roll back onto his back, placing his hands flat onto the dirt ground, and pushing himself upward, doing a backflip and landing on his feet. Once he balanced himself on his feet, he looked back up at his blue-haired opponent with a smirk. "You're screwed!"

The only response he got was a lazy, "Hmhm."

The bald mugger lunged forward once more, gripping his knife's handle even harder and swiping at the blue-haired man's face. The blue-haired man backed up and jumped to the side. The wall of the building behind him was too close for comfort.

The bald man turned and sliced at the blue-haired man's face two more times, the blue-haired man dodging both of them. The bald man went for a third lunge, only to have the man in the dark blue vest grab his wrist tightly, halting his attack, proceeding to strike the side of the bald man's neck.

The blue-haired man didn't stop there. He then raised the bald mugger's arm by the wrist, shooting his knee straight up into the bald man's groin. "Gah!" The bald man elicited a pain-filled groan, hunching over from the hit to his groin.

With the man hunching, the blue-haired man jabbed two of his fingers on his left hand into the bald man's eyes, blinding him momentarily. The blue-haired man then raised the bald man's arm once more, slamming his knee into the mugger's forearm, making him drop his small knife.

"That wasn't very hard." The blue-haired man mocked, then sighed for the umpteenth time today. Looking down at the injured and incapacitated mugger.

Multiple heavy footsteps could be heard closing in on the corner of the alleyway the blue-haired man and the mugger were currently in. After a few seconds, two warriors were coated in thick chalkboard grey armor, their heads still exposed. Also attaining a small crest on their chest plates that resemble the village of Buraun.

Both of the warriors eyed the situation hastily, looking at the bald man groaning in pain, and the man with long blue hair who had a drowsy expression.

"Hey, glad you guy's finally made it. I will leave this in your guys' hands now." The blue-haired man announced, walking over to the big leathery bag that was on the ground.

"Who are you?" One of the warriors called out with a question. That halted the blue-haired man momentarily.

"Oh," The man in the vest acknowledged, turning to the warriors as he picked up the bag. "I'm a teacher at Buraunmajikku academy; Mr. Oshieru.

The long blonde-haired woman from earlier could be seen waiting outside of the Village Information Center, sitting on a wooden bench.

'Oh. How could this have happened! I should've just gone out for the food later.' The woman thought in anxiousness.

*THUD*

"Hah!" A loud nearby sound made the woman jump. Looking for the source of the sound, she spotted Oshieru standing a few feet away from her, her big leathery bag in his hand.

"This is yours, right?" Oshieru questioned, walking over to the blonde-haired woman and handing her the bag.

"Yes! Thank you so much!" The woman thanked Oshieru in immense gratification, hugging her bag closely.

Mr. Oshieru smiled faintly, "No problem."

"What is your name?" The woman questioned, an expectant look on her face.

"My name is Oshieru. I work at the academy." Oshieru answered. Then his eyes shot wide open. "Oh, shoot! I'm going to be late to teach my class!" He exclaimed. As he was turning around and preparing to sprint away, he called out to the blonde-haired woman. "Stay safe out there!"

"I will!" The woman called back out. Smiling gleefully, then getting lost in her thoughts.

'Naguru is going to freak when he hears that I was saved by a teacher at the academy! I wonder who he has as an instructor there?'
