Chapter 17 - Encounter [part 1]

Raio helped them to skin the beast then sold it in the market at a very profitable price. Damien saw how Raaz handled the animal; it was hard not to be impressed by his speed. Damien didn't learn much, only that clothes made from a beast skin are very good during winter, but these clothes do not grant the wearer extraordinary feats, except it was made with a particular beast core. And the stronger the beast the stronger and more useful the weapons become. Also a beast weapon was specialized by the type of beast core. For example, if the beast was a type with wind powers, then it would be useful to make either a boot, in order to increase the speed.

Damien had the intention of visiting Raio again, even if it meant that he would sneak out of the house. He knew his parents wouldn't grant him the custody to go outside, especially his mum. If not for Luke, he wouldn't have dreamt of seeing the exterior fragment of his house. Well, this just meant good news for him, he had already studied the way when they were heading back home, and this time, he wouldn't need anyone's help. Damien didn't know the reason for his mother's paranoia. She almost scolded Luke for taking her son out, and after raining Luke down with insults, she checked his body to see if there was any scar on him.

"You know, you don't have to be looking after me like this." Damien said.

"Yes I know, but you aren't old enough to go outside." Amanda replied

"When would I be old enough huh?" Damien walked to his room after saying these words. Damien didn't feel any guilt at all, but was in fact happy.

'Well, you've sure got balls to talk to your mum like that.' Fay said.

"Correction, she is not my mum.' Damien replied.

'Can I visit the Alcatraz now?' Damien asked.

"Nope, you still need to kill more beasts.' Fay replied.

Damien badly needed to be at the Alcatraz, but with his mother watching his every move, things would sure be hard for him. But he knew what to do exactly to escape. He was a former assassin, and no trap could hold him, he had escaped prisons with high security a lot of time, this would be an easy job for him to escape from the house. Damien sat on his bed; he looked at Raaz for some moment.

"Little bro, come here." Damien said. Raaz walked to him, and then sat on the bed beside him.

"Tomorrow's going to be a big day." Damien said before petting him. Raaz only growled in acknowledgement.

The next day, it was truly a day of adventure for Damien. He wasted no time in executing his escape plan. He got out of the house in no time, he walked out casually with Raaz, while tossing the gold coin up and down. Damien had a brown leather bag at his side, today; he was going to learn the basics of hunting according to where he lived in.

It wasn't easy finding Raio's house as Damien thought. Different people would get in his way, making it hard for him to walk freely, But luckily, Damien got to his destination. He sighed heavily as he looked at the old house. Damien was sure that Raio lived in his house alone, and he sure was a 'cool old dude' according to the way Damien called him. He walked to the door then knocked twice before waiting for a reply. What happened next was a total humiliation to Damien, Raio opened the door, he looked left and right but found no one. This almost made Damien explode in anger.

"I'm right here!" Damien said audibly, enough for Raio to hear. Raio looked down with a bright smile.

"Well, would you look at that? You've already shown your passion." Raio said, before opening the door for him to enter.

"Yup, and I'm ready to go hunt beasts with you." Damien replied as he walked to the kitchen counter.

"First thing, I don't hunt for beasts on Thursdays, only animals. Second, I was just about to go hunt for animals; Wolves to be precise." Raio explained.

"Good, I can come with you then." Damien said.

"Oh, first day and you want to go hunting? You sure kiddo?"

"Try me."

Raio only smiled, then walked to where the weapons were hanging, then plucked out a black cross bow.

"Well, I hope you are ready to face a pack of wolves." He said before setting up his weapon.

"Wait, that cross-bow, it has no arrows, it's a beast weapon right?" Damien said.

"Well Kid, you are right about that." Raio said. "This was forged from a Viking-god tier beast." He added.

"That means it's very powerful! Whoa!" Damien exclaimed.

Raio didn't stay any more words, he gave Damien a dagger, which wasn't formed from a beast core, and the weapon was just a basic weapon which really had no value. Damien was very furious, but still had to smile in awe, like he had never held a dagger before.

'This old hag, of all the weapons hanging on the wall, he decided to give you this little toy?' Fay complained.

'Well, he's an old motherf***er.' Damien replied.

Before they went out of the house, Raio asked if Raaz should come along with them, Damien insisted. There was no way that Damien would go without taking Raaz along. He could also be helpful, since they were fighting beasts with no affinities.

Luke stood beside his mother and father, both looking at him with an eye of seriousness. Luke only stared at the wooden floor, while tapping the table where the three stood beside.

"Well, why did you call us here?" Dean asked.

"It's about Damien, that kid needs no protection." Luke said as he rose his head up.

"What nonsense are you saying Luke?" Amanda asked.

"I know what I saw, the boy's skills are beyond my imagination." Luke replied.

"We all know he's early at…"

Gwen's voice stopped them from saying anything further.

"Dad, I can't find Damien." Gwen said while panting heavily.

"What…"

Deep in the woods, Raio walked forward, not far from Damien who crept slowly, with the dagger firmly on his hands. They were in a forest with dark leaves and trees, the whole place looked scary. And this was what Raio wanted; for the surrounding to scare the hell out of him, but this didn't work, Damien just kept on with what he was doing. Damien could visibly notice some dark substance emit from the trees around him.

"What type of forest is this?" Damien asked.

"It's called the wolf residence." Raio replied.

"Does that mean that wolf stay here?"

"You heard the name kid."

Damien didn't know how it happened, but he could suddenly see a pack of wolves which were heading to their direction. The forest was blocking their vision, but somehow, Damien could clearly see the wolves coming up ahead. His vision was surrounded by an orange blur, and he could also see their inner body, their heart beat. From the way it looked, they seemed very hungry.

"What do you see kid?" Raio asked after noticing Damien's orange eyes.

"There are wolves coming up ahead." Damien said, placing his hands on the ground.

"How many?" Raio asked.

"10; five young betas, two omegas, and three alphas. They seem really hungry" Damien replied. He knew the exact grade of the wolves; his vision granted him the ability to do so.

"Well, let's get ready to kill them."

"Spare the betas." Damien interjected.

"What why?"

"They are only following orders, and are not really in for blood." Damien said. This was true, but his intentions were to keep the betas and form is own wolf pack, with Raaz being the leader.

"Oh great!" Raio said as he walked forward. They both came out of the shadows to see all members of the pack waiting for them.

"Well, without any further talks. Let's get killing."

The first two alphas charged at them. Damien rolled to the left, before conjuring a fire ball. He threw the fire at the first alpha who just moved aside. Raio bent backwards a bit, focusing all the energy on his left hand. He slid his left leg backwards and the right a bit forward, he threw his cross-bow at the wolf. This attack caught him off-guard, taking him to crash on a rock. This angered the alpha, he charged at Raio again, but this time, Raio decided to use what he had as an advantage. He fired several blue arrows at the wolf, piercing it in different direction as it fell to its death. The omegas didn't waste any time in attacking, they both struck Raio simultaneously. This move was done with speed, Raio quickly rolled away at the last moment. As soon as he stood up, he fired several arrows at them. The first one was lucky to dodge the attack, but the second one wasn't that fortunate, the two arrows pierced it in different directions, slowing it down. The other was obviously angered by this, it blindly charged at Raio, with his fangs ready to devour. Raio only smiled, he created several lightning strike at the wolf. The wolf lost direction, as it crashed left on a rock as it let out a silent howl. The betas only stood behind as they watch their pack go in ruins.

"Phew." Raio said, he stood up and started spectating Dylan's match.

Dylan sped forward to the beast, he threw several threads at the wolf, but this move didn't work either. Damien flipped forward, then threw down his leg with speed and strength, with his feet clouded in fore. The wolf was lucky to escape, but now Damien had transformed. He had spiky beards, his fangs enlarged, and so did his claws, his muscles, and every other humanly feats in his body. He roared out before attacking the wolf, but at that moment, something happened. The wolf stomped its feet on the ground, as a red circular aura fired at him, taking both he and Raaz down to the ground.

"What the f***! Damien!"
