Chereads / The Aluin's Oath! / Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: Lost in the Rythmn, the lights & the crowd!

Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: Lost in the Rythmn, the lights & the crowd!

The beautiful sun that ignited the day for daylight ladies and gentlemen on a day with almost perfect weather was setting in the traditional city of Seyort, then came on the elegant lights as usual to help the night owls traverse with a beaming moon. Ember Aluin and Baozhai were checking out Josue's countless history, Sword and cook books in Seyort's Grand flower library. Chen Baozhai was lying on the floor with her back against one of the shelves of books that stood far taller than Artus while Ember was squatting, also practicing her powers on the floor in the desk area. They weren't that far from one another as they spoke.

"You can mimic the swords you see but can't share or conjure two different types at once?" Baozhai asked, "Uh-huh." Ember answered her while she formed a Claymore from her sword encyclopedia with illustrations, she formed the gigantic blade with almost perfect accuracy.

"A break to read some of these crimes novels with me might be helpful?" Baozhai suggested with a restful tone.

"Truly struggling to see how." Ember replied with a similar one, "Out of curiosity... what are you reading?" She asked.

"Mystery romance, 'Perfumes and Passion' is the title, it's generic in concept but the author nailed the execution so far." Baozhai answered her, "Hang on, hang on so what if I just made you a retractable flaming, in addition to, explosive sword? Would you agree to stop training for a moment and come hang out with me then?" She asked her friend with a perky tone.

"I can't become indestructible but if you made me one of those, I can promise we'd be eternal besties." Ember and Baozhai heard from a voice but couldn't see who it was coming from near them. The blade Ember was summoning vanished alongside her focus on the sword she in the middle of copying, her blood began boiling.

"Ember…?" Baozhai yelled as she got off the ground and circled around in search of that nonchalant voice's owner.

"Yeah, I know, a vile monster just showed up, we need to leave." Ember replied using her temper training from Lyle to keep her tone serene and herself in control.

"I'm not here to fight. I'm here to apologize and make amends. I've been reflecting on us a ton." Said Livia Burr as her voice came from above Baozhai. The two looked up and she was sitting above her.

"Uh, how long have you been here?" Baozhai asked with blunt interest.

"Why would you want to do that, barf wench?" Ember asked with a tone of contempt, "That was in the past and Lyle's in Alyi with the others, waste your time anywhere that isn't around me." Ember finished with a decreasingly friendly tone.

"Artus. Mostly." Livia answered, "He made me realize how much all of you actually hated me. I sincerely want to… start to make any bad blood between us right." She possessed a tone filled with remorse.

"You're a deceitful woman, a great actress and I can't deny that you aren't needed in this job and, what's poetic is that all that makes you special reflect that fact!" Ember replied hastily, with pure intention to burn. Livia disappeared from their sight.

"I'm guessing she's one of this place's Gen-Oath members, correct?" Asked Baozhai with a quiet tone, the first time Ember's heard her low. Ember squatted back down to continue her practice knowing full well she wasn't gone but had work to do, "What happened between you two 'cause it was so steamy in here from your boiling pot that I couldn't see her." Baozhai asked as got closer to Ember.

"Hm, funny. I'd really prefer not to talk about that… and I." Ember replied with a much calmer tone than before, "I wonder how Iona, Kimberly and Deshauntae would react to that peace proposal." Ember asked herself as it was much harder for her to go back to focusing with memories of the friends in her past brought up.

"I don't know what she did to you but it sounds like this took place when you were children. It sounds like she's genuinely trying to learn." Said Baozhai with two intentions, supportive and giving into her busybody nature.

"We shared a childhood academy and dorm, we were taught the very same lessons, very same mentors, she was glad that she tortured every student." Ember informed her Alyi's genius, "I know this is a ploy that her kooky mind thought up to get Lyle's attention." Ember was confident that was the case.

"I don't know if you've ever felt a way for a boy that throws your character off-- but this isn't about him. You call us enemies but we're still sisters, I saw it in your big brown eyes that you were thinking about the other girls' reactions." Livia was filled with her own confidence.

"What do you think they'd say and if I sense a hint of fakeness. I'm done wasting my time." Ember asked without a grin or a smile but all the confidence in her body that she was going to be fake.

"Jazmine would murder me. Goracia would keep me cut out of her life. Iona would give it thought but in the end, she'd give me the chance to prove myself." Livia answered with all of the remorse she had in her. Ember summoned a bastard sword and initiated herself into the plow stance with fearsome eyes, no smile.

Livia looked hesitant then shrugged the feeling off before the sheath and her own sword appeared on her back as she held it firmly in her hands.

"So you realized that S.I.O M was holding you back too and learned a few tricks?" Ember asked with a frisson of nervousness and excitement.

"Mhm. My heart was pounding when I realized I can become more versatile than I thought." Livia replied feeling the same as Ember but with a grin.

An exchange of glares for approximately a single moment took place before the challneger sprinted towards the covert admirer and forced her on the defensive.

The blades of Ember's bastard sword and Livia's Yatagan clashed steel to steel. The sounds were satisfying to Baozhai as she witnessed the latest in a line of duels between the sisters.

"This is for what you did!" Ember yelled as she swung her sword with ferocity upon each swing.

"It was stupid of me, I shouldn't have told her you called her a useless wench!" Livia replied as she guarded each and parried her thrusts, "She always loved that word, though, made it too easy." Livia said to herself and kept in her head. Ember swung harder knowing she said something impertinent in her thoughts.

"You knew what you were doin' while hiding behind a goody girl facade to get the rest of us cruel punishments and frame us!" Ember went off, continuing to thrust and combo strike.

"I-- understand your point. Your rage and lid finally blowing off after all these years!" Livia replied while they clashed. Ember tried holding herself back while simultaneously turning her emotional pain from Livia's years of betrayal and bullying into her attacks in this duel.

Baozhai reached into her cloaked utility belt and grabbed a miniature square grenade with a diamond that gave off a light blue icy glow.

"This was built up for a very long time, let's air it all out now, Lady!" Livia demanded with a lighter tone and understanding tone.

Ember continued to thrust and her opponent remains parrying, waiting for a counterstrike opportunity but that night Ember's own defense was superb.

"I'm trying to put in the effort." Livia stated as the two got into another clash struggle.

"The same amount of effort to push me off the ledge during our final free running and physical exams?" Ember asked with a bitter tone to that question.

"The same amount of effort to reflect on my past. Trauma that's gone ignored and realize that I don't deserve a second chance but what's it all for if I don't try... from the heart?" Livia replied then asked Ember, as she asked herself while contemplating in her apartment earlier.

"Right." Said Ember with a low tone as she got off her. Ember began walking away with no further words to say, just her thoughts in her mind swirling.

"It's best to let her cool off right now, she reminds me of a Grade 2 turret." Baozhai reommended while Livia's well aware, "How do you powers work? Do you really vanish into thin air?" Baozhai asked after a few moments of the two watching Ember leave and then gone.

"Oh yeah, I just--" Livia replied, Baozhai was left in astonishment.

"There she goes, her brother told me in a conversation she does this-- and it's best to let her be alone to think. She has to cool off like tempered steel sometimes." Baozhai informed Livia, while she was well aware of Ember's ways.

"Anyway, glad to finally meet you. What's the extent of your powers if you don't mind my curiosity?" Baozhai said sincerely then asked genuinely.

Livia turned her body toward her, her tactical and combat ready suit began completely appearing on her body gradually as she kept her gaze fixed on her with an overjoyed grin aimed at the R&D researcher that asked her.

"I turned half of a man's arm invisible the other week by accident, it was the funniest moment I've had with a civilian since I've arrived here." Livia admitted with a five-foot-seven body moving with such mirth, "He was not ready for that, and neither was I. We both got scared." Livia admitted before she turned invisible to catch up with her military sister. Baozhai had to guess why she decided to vanish.

"I can tell she enjoys when people find wonder in her powers by that grin." Baozhai noted in her head before taking off and intending on catching up with Ember.

Livia let her get far but she searched around for her. She couldn't find a clue of where she had gone, she couldn't even find a clue of where Baozhai were, at least, two seemingly vanished and after an hour of search she deduced it. No bars, not at any of the other numerous libraries but rather on top of one. Ember enjoy climbing to help her think clearer and focus, Livia never understood it.

When the Covert champion finally found her sister and her new researcher friend, Alyi's genius, she was exhausted, on the bright side, she got more acquainted with the oldest city. However, Ember had her head sat on Baozhai's shoulder comforting her, Livia's facial expression shifted before she decided to take a seat on Ember's other side that wasn't occupied, hoping to bond further, like the sisters they should've been if not for herself.

"I've never told you about when I was around eight, my life before I found myself in the military program, huh?" Livia asked with a lower tone. Ember never gave a reply.

"I lived with my older siblings since my parents were out of the picture... my dad was a drug dealer, I halfway understood that then, who quickly became an addict and my mom-- ditched us." Livia began her story with a dry tone she was retelling, "They did their best to take care of me then these powers took over but they couldn't rescue me from them like my brothers did the vile men in our town." Livia finished with the same tone that got lower.

"What couldn't they save you from?" Baozhai asked next, "These powers, It started when I, well at the time mysteriously got a high fever with chills, periods of hot flashes and coughing that made me sound like I was barking. A Light head followed by periods of exhaustion and these symptoms fluctuated for three months before I-- turned invisible for the very first time, at the time I thought I became a ghost or was wiped from existence?" Livia answered while Ember sat and listened.

"Do you have any fond memories of your family?" Baozhai asked as she was playing with Ember's hair as the Blue-stocking Blade was laying her head on her.

"Some fond memories, yeah... but the ones I have in my mind replaying on a daily basis now are the lessons they taught me." Livia replied with a solemn tone.

"I'm sorry that all of that happened to you but I can't quit wondering what made you do what you've done to them?" Baozhai asked Livia.

"I've never given it any thought-- until a woman that looked like she time traveled with an ancient camera visited me inside of a dream one day, months ago. We had a one on one talk and she literally showed me my ways like it was incredible. Meeting her stayed in my thoughts until your little brother added to it." Livia replied.

"What answers did you find from them?" Baozhai asked, "It's not that easy to explain but I can guarantee that I'm not that trifling little girl any bit of longer." Livia asserverates as she stood up with better posture.

"What was this weird program Ember's mentioned a few times like, by the way?" Baozhai asked the two.

"It was like-- Harsh— and cruel, filled with training and training and fitness would be an understatement, you could say we didn't have a childhood, we had preparation." Livia answered with an ominous tone, "It wasn't a childhood but the boys had their moments filled with goofing off and memories." Livia finished.

"Sounds absolutely horrible, were there any sort of explosive geniuses in the program?" Baozhai asked with anticipation.

"There were 40 students and we had 20 mentors with technology that kept our powers controlled until we could manage to keep them tamed, Goracia was a genius technopath that also created gadgetry. It was silly and lighthearted most of the time." Livia recounted to Baozhai.

"Hm, she sounds really fun, is she competitive?" Baozhai asked Livia, "Got the top grades for exams, least insecure though, takes my vote for the cutest out of all the roughness that surrounded us but she has to be the least ready to compete and throw down physically." Livia answered her, "If that monster didn't attack our base, how would we have ended up?" Ember asked after they had that entire conversation without her speaking a word, simply staring at the stars.

"Ember, if you're in or around Viggo Avenue, the commissioner there sent a report of a mysterious inhuman creature flying around that's gotta be taught a lesson." Ember heard on the personal communicator that she always carries even out of her suit from Codagan Dugan.

"Time for mending feelings and reconciliation to be over now!" Ember announced as she gave a slight grin before heading off, leaping off the edge and descending with the grace of an eagle.

The girls heard monstrous roaring from above when they arrived, it wasn't too terrifying but it wasn't at all human either.

This creature looked athletic, agile and lengthy in his arms and legs, it had a prehensile tail and had a belly that was blushing peach with the rest of his body being pale gold and it had hints of rose gold on his forearms and ears. Baozhai was fascinated by his Prehensile feet and tail.

The creature was releasing a monstrous roar as it was enduring so much pain while keeping a strong grip on an eight foot war scythe he had pushed into the ground, the girls couldn't push any closer towards it as lightning strikes that were tempered gray struck them each time they tried to move a muscle. Baozhai had to stay back, Ember and Livia were in a predicament, "stuck or struck?" Livia said in her head.

A woman appeared with a visible Carolina blue aura out of thin air dressed in a prison jumpsuit while the creature dropped down a knee, exhausted and tortured, heavily breathing and panting.

Ember and Livia fix their gazes toward the woman as she pat the creature's back lovingly. Ember recognized her, Livia did not.

Bacia looked straight up, turning her eyes from looking down at the creature looking daggers at Ember, Livia and Baozhai. Thoughts of a violent and angry woman would have roamed her mind at that quick moment. She went back to checking on the creature.

The lightning faded and vanished as the creature's pain was steadily being relieved, allowing Ember and Livia to rush towards them believing their guard was down. They were quick but in the knick of time, Bacia was able to keep them at bay, with her powers replenished and at their strongest, she induced fear into her adversaries and halted them with a blast that had an area of effect.

The fearless Durant approached the scaredy Gen-Oath members, enjoying herself as she heard them whimper and quake, as she approached, they crawled away as fast as they could to get away from her.

"Yes, crawl away from him, crawl until you take this fall!" Said Bacia with a voice filled with villainous glee.

As Ember and Livia backed away, Baozhai grabbed a flash grenade from her cloaked utility belt and threw it with the best she had ever performed, she used it to blind Bacia and keep her off her balance. Her friends quit backing away towards the edge in time as Bacia backed away without her sight and focus. They were shivering and afraid nonetheless but they were subconsciously fighting it with their will.

The creature made his arms into wings and began to get back on his feet to take flight away from the scene, Ember saw her chance to rush toward it and hopped onto it before it got too high up and out of her grasp.

This creature screeched and roared one after another as the two soared, Ember held tightly onto its legs as her own strength were returning.

Livia rolled to Bacia's left, turned invisible just as her sight was blurry. Worry perked its way when she saw her disappear completely from sight. Bacia blasted another aura of fear around her radius, around a decent chunk of her surroundings. She still never saw or heard any sign of the invisible woman, still an ache that warns her of danger was felt in her shoulders and she knew her invisible opponent still plans on taking her down. She knew she had to remain vigilant, keep her eyes open.

"Unfortunately, Doli has my tiara or this fight would be way past over, she must've figured out my radius?" Bacia thought to herself, "I've got to fight smarter until he finds me." She finished.

Ember and the dark golden colored creature flew like a missile through the skies of old Seyort, with Ember holding onto the creature's legs climbing her way to his upper body where she summoned a combat knife and stabbed its gut.

The creature roared and screeched as before, still in a far more painful manner as they descended like falling stars into the pedestrian streets of Seyort. Ember covered her face while everyone fled and the police patrolling evacuated the area.

Ember was hurt from the fall the two of them took down, thanks to Ember and a fault from the creature itself. The creature got off the ground, releasing another short monstrous roaring session, breathing heavily and she blacked out as it was going through a transformation.

Bacia saw a foreign woman spectating her distress from a neighboring rooftop, Baozhai had the feeling Bacia had a plan to use her as a hostage but was feeling particularly relieved about the fact the gap between the two was too far to leap.

The sadistic grin wasn't leaving the face of Bacia, when Baozhai tried to run, the mysterious and villainous woman pushed her onto the ground. She was held hostage, Bacia threatened to snap her neck and her strength was too great for the genius of Alyi to break away from in every way.

Dolion broke free from his transformation, his body was weary and he realized he had a stab wound, he could endure the pain as he's conditioned. Working with foggy memories, tired muscles and a stab wound he tried to form a plan. The Durant brother was bemused, befuddled by a mysterious woman lying in front of him, obviously unconscious.

"It's you...?" Said Dolion with uncertainty and a lowered voice, his memory about the events while he was transformed was very cloudy but an innocent lying in front of him was something he worries about when he enters his abominable and horrendous form that was forced onto him.

Using all of his might and will, he gets off his knees and picks her up, one location is roaming through his mind but the issue is he doesn't know the city very well. He's more familiar with Alyi than Seyort. He knows he needs to hurry for the both of them.

Bacia held Baozhai by her chin, prepared to negotiate and buy herself a bit of time to build up the courage to run. Her gifts for teleportation require too much effort; without her tiara, she barely managed to make it to Baozhai on the neighboring roof.

Out of nowhere, Bacia was forced to let go of her hostage after her hand felt like a few steel balls hit her. Baozhai ran, the Durant sister followed her lead and tried to flee with her. Baozhai threw a right swing her way for Livia but she dodged it with ease, grabbed her arm and tried to block her invisible opponent from entering the building. She had no clue what building they were on top of but it wasn't any worry to her.

"You're safe, checked, next task is nabbing this chick." Said Livia to Baozhai as she helped her off the ground then chased after the fear inducing criminal.

Dolion carried Ember all over the city, sure avoiding officers, especially in his condition and as many citizens as he could who could spot him this late at night. Most still spotted him but he felt assured that none with a camera recognized him. He's not afraid of nasty rumors.

Finally, a 24/7 open, small boutique shop promising real and romantic flowers was across the street, leaping over cars with her in his hands, both in trouble and in need, he made it across safely.

As he entered, there were a few customers that looked at him funny and moved out of his way as he rushed with a single mission. Dolion set the woman down gently on the pristine and freshly swept floor of the shop to find what he needed.

"Everybody, evacuate… RIGHT NOW!" Dolion demanded of the few customers after an intense struggle to enter his surreptitious form for a noble goal in his mind. He could show nothing but a grin when he saw a decently healthy bouquet, though he began to struggle to move, his injuries and health was worsening.

Bacia ran down the stairs that lead to the roof of a car insurance building, normally she's not a gal that would run from any sort of fight imaginable but she's never felt as powerless and matched in her life than against Livia.

The woman she took hostage didn't give chase and the woman that she could vanish still wasn't heard or seen and that discomposed her, Bacia's danger ache in her shoulders kept making the situation worse for her but it was helpful.

The Durant sister kept feeling uneasy thanks to Livia's presence, as she ran, she halted and exploded her aura, running through the halls and the many offices in the building.

"Stop playing these games with me, you bimbo, come out and fight me!" Bacia screamed out at the top of her lungs, only a few workers were around and heard her. They were massively confused.

Livia appeared and clotheslined Bacia, knocking her to the floor. She tried to release her energy believing she checkmated her finally but still vanished from her. At this point, Bacia was going insane but Livia kept her cool.

"Seems that I'm a direct counter to your cheap power." Livia yelled out from behind her, Bacia was upset that she figured out her range.

"How come you aren't affected at all?!" Bacia Durant yelled out with utter frustration, "There's no way you're fast enough to escape my aura's grasp, I've fought invisible opponents before, you're nothing extraordinary!" Bacia yelled out with her mind cracking under the fear Livia gave her.

"A wonderful hero showed me there's more that I can do than just leave someone's sight." Livia answered her before she vanished again. Bacia's facial expression turned into one of terror before she got up and took off again.

"This ridiculous and hideous curse, at least, comes with nifty powers that allow me to do some good. I need to start carrying peaches and flowers on me." Dolion said to himself as he sat on his knees to rest after pushing past a limit, "With a better look now that things have settled, this woman's the most-- no makeup and still stunning me like seeing a beautiful woman for the first time." Dolion continued after he looked at the woman who was healing on the floor.

Ember suddenly woke up but swiftly realizing she wasn't where she remembered landing, her instincts kicked in, she performed a back roll into a stance and summoned a short sword. She looked around and saw Dolion squatting down on one knee with one foot on the ground healing.

"Oh, it is you!" Dolion called out with the most delight in his tone she's heard from any man. Overwhelmed with a feeling she thought was hammered out of her by herself, she inched closer and got her sword uncomfortably close to his throat. He slowly put his hands up, they were empty then she let him stand up. Ember noticed the five-five and five-ten height difference. None of that mattered to the blade.

"We really need more women with more spunk and less... sadism in the world. Let's just talk like acquaintances, yeah? Just for a moment forget about motives?" Dolion asked with his hands up and her blade getting really close to his throat.

"You're right, so, what are you here for and what did you turn into earlier?!" Ember asked surprisingly calmly like he wanted.

"I'm here to free my sister from your hidden prison... hidden somewhere? It worked, I'm sure you noticed." Dolion confessed, "it was a wild guess with careful planning that clearly wasn't well thought out enough." He finished with a slight grin. Ember felt awkward after seeing him smile before shoving it down and remaining focused on the questioning.

"What was that thing that you turned into earlier and don't avoid the question this time." Ember demanded without any judgment, simply plain curiosity, "A curse more often than not, a blessing occasionally, it allows me to heal those in need of helping." Dolion answered with a lower voice, Ember could feel the shame from his voice in the first half.

"What side are you even on…?" Ember asked with Lyle's story of their encounter months ago, having made it into her mind at the moment. Dolion looked at her with a puzzling expression on his face before his swiftly leg swept her then rolled for his nun-chaku he dropped earlier.

"I'm not the devil but I'm still filled with lies." Dolion replied as he walked to the exit with his eyes turned to Ember, "I'm filled with truth too, you haven't left my mind since we talked the day the Museum opened up. You could call it a pash during that time though." Dolion admitted with a low tone.

"What?!" Ember asked in her thoughts.

"Truth be told, now, I'd give up all the wealth and adventure just to get to know you deeper, I feel like you and I would get along, the reality is; we do belong to different worlds and long distance never works out." Dolion said as he continued taking his time walking away.

Ember got off her butt again with a roll and tried throwing a dagger at him that he was able to dodge then she thrusted that same dagger he was trained to counter and stopped her, he dodged attacks she threw before finding the perfect time to leap over her and make his escape out of the small authentic flower shop that leaves him at a disadvantage.

Ember had a specially made bandana from Generil's R&D department that she could wear until she made it to the hidden emergency arsenal supplied to the Gen-Oath each member has access to but the nearest was too far, the citizens outside remained clueless about what she looked like besides having basic brown and long hair many women on the street spectating had themselves. The police came in and evacuated everyone for Ember to do her job without worry.

Police had Dolion Durant surrounded alongside Ember Aluin as she was closing in on him, they were waiting for a captain's command or her own. The two gazed into each other's eyes though as he held up his hands like he surrendered. He dropped a smoke bomb that quickly covered the entire area.

"Doli, Dolion Verity Durant, pick me up in the city's Chinatown!" Bacia demanded with the most panic Dolion had ever heard from her as she sprinted and tried her damndest to anticipate Livia's next attack.

Bacia found herself clotheslined again hard enough to make her perform a backflip on the concrete outside on the streets, Livia mounted her and was going for a knockout blow but our covert heroine underestimated her adversary's toughness. Bacia thought once again, she had her in her grasp as she punched her but she was gone again in a blink.

"Fight me without your invisibility like you're made of something more than insecurity, coward." Bacia demanded as she kept on the lookout for an answer and Livia, "I've got great stamina and better control over what's keeping you away. This can go all the way until my brother gets here for me."

"I'm not the little fearful girl running from facing her antagonist." Livia returned, "True… Give me your word that you'll stick to the deal, if you don't catch me if you break it, I'll run my blade right through you." Livia demanded as she appeared right in front of Bacia then vanished once again.

"I give my word, actually, I'm feeling in the mood to be at a disadvantage. Blade vs hands." Said Bacia with a blank expression.

Livia turned herself visible but out of her distance to be careful, she turned her sheath and blade visible as well but kept her suit hidden. Bacia squared off while Livia initiated a stance she favored.

Bacia jumped right in front of her, Livia dashed for a thrust but Bacia dodged to the right at the perfect time. Livia turned and tried to deliver a vertical attack but she missed her belly dancing adversary once again. She didn't waver in her confidence, Alyi's covert heroine missed the next entire batch of lethal attacks she dished out against the unarmed Durant Sister that taunted her for the next thirteen minutes.

"I'm glad she was the one that got in over her head taking on my brother, not you, I wouldn't have made it this far with little miss figuring things out on my tail. Don't tell me you two went to the same school" Bacia fired hoping to sting her opponent

"How— you're using different powers than your fear dominion." Livia asked when she quit attacking, fed up with missing, "Yeah, what powers am I using?" Bacia asked while taunting her, "Telepathy to know what attack you'll throw?" She asked again with a different taunt, "Telekinesis to throw you off right before I dodge at the perfect time?" She asked her once more, "Hypnotic suggestion to influence you without you ever realizing it?" She finished as she cracked up from her ignorance and humiliation.

"You broke your word. It's only fair that I break mine, I tried to be merciful." She finished in a tone that terrified Bacia to her core before leaving all sight again and leaving baffled, Bacia tried to run but instead she ran into Livia who suddenly appeared behind her shoving a combat knife into her gut. As Bacia fell down, never having been stabbed before, Livia's facial expression was blank and dull. Zero emotions, the opposite if it was reversed.

"At least find joy in this." Bacia begged as the pain was unbearable, hoping Dolion would arrive soon and feeling stupid that she underestimated her capabilities, "For that, I should finish your vile life, I'm trying my best to resist it, help will be here soon, though, so your suffering won't end so early." Livia replied with that same terrifying tone.

Dolion in his disgusting cursed form descended swiftly to deliver a push kick against Livia sending her away from his sister, she was pushed a decent distance but then he let out an unexpected sonic roar that sent Alyi's covert heroine soaring away.

"I've got here with just two minutes of control left, Baci." Dolion informed her as he focused on transforming back to stay in control of himself, it knocked him off his balance. Dolion gave her the Tiara and her homing necklace for their escape.

He cradled her in his arms with care of her wounds then noticed Livia was recovering back to her feet and he decided to give her a quick "see ya" gesture with two fingers before they began glowing Carolina blue and teleported, out of the city.

Ember and Baozhai a few minutes later arrived at the scene having tracked Livia's signal to find her there and regroup. "She really thought that golden haired hottie could overwhelm you?" Said Livia with her usual perkiness. Knowing she's going to nail her next time.

"Yeah." Ember replied with a hesitant and unsure tone, "I work as the grumpy Ember translator, she wants you to know that she hopped on him as quickly as she did 'cause she knew you could take her." Baozhai assured Livia, "You did take her right?" Baozhai asked.

"Yeah. Could've been more effortlessly but I've got a question for you girls." Livia answered as they walked away.

"I'm ashamed it took me all night and I had to go through all of that to figure out why you beat me so easily." Ember blurted out with a frustrated tone, "Why?" Baozhai asked and Livia was wondering.
