Chapter 18 - The Game Is On

Kamou returned to her room after the shooting was over. It's been days since she last talked to Juho. She was waiting for a reason to text him, so she wouldn't come off as too desperate.

'Thank you for the food you sent for us. We all really enjoyed it.' She texted casually.

Juho was working late in his studio, when his eyes lit up seeing her text. He smirked a bit reading her text.

'So, she is playing hard to get. I wouldn't give up so easily my love. Let me give you a taste of your own medicine.' He thought and started typing.

'I sent it specially for Taehee, he loves dumplings. I am glad everyone else also enjoyed the meal.' He replied.

'Really? I was also craving for shrimp dumplings today. Guess Big Brother and I have many things in common.' she teased.

Reading the last line of her text, Juho's soul burned inside his body. Irritated he typed,' Good for you, you got to eat the food you wanted. I am busy right now, have to go. Bye'

And hence the day's conversation ended with Kamou's clear victory. Juho was sulking in his room irritated, while Kamou was merrier than ever. Her words hit Juho right in the spot and made him shut up.

"And he thought he could win against me. You don't know me yet Park Juho. The game is on." She said to herself giving out a small evil laugh. She elegantly placed her phone on the night stand and went off to sleep.

The next day the shooting was to take place at Winchelsea Beach, which was near Rye. The beach generally was not much crowded so it made a perfect spot for shooting. It was a beautiful sandy beach and the director thought it to be perfect for an emotional scene between the lead couple.

October rains were common in Rye so the sunlight wasn't too strong, giving an early morning effect to the scenery. The director wanted to perfectly capture the beautiful background for the scene. Though the scene was supposed to appear much later in the movie, he decided to film it first.

In this scene the male lead would tell the heroine that he has to go back to his country. They both are heartbroken but neither of them says anything about how they feel. The female lead wishes him luck and turns around to leave. In a corner the she bursts into tears, hurt because he was leaving.

The actors come to the scene with their makeup done. Kamou wore a blue summer dress, its hem blowing in the soft wind. Taehee was dressed in black shorts with white printed shirt. The actors took their place and the director began to shoot. Both actors put in their effort and aced the emotions to be shown in the scene. Their acting was so real, the crew was in awe. Their expressions and chemistry were effortless.

The next scene was Kamou's solo shot where she had to cry her heart out. For scenes like this generally actors think about sad memories or events to make it seem natural. Kamou took five minutes to prepare her mind, getting into the zone.

'I have to feel pain, the pain of losing a loved one.' She closed her eyes thinking about the one she loved, but the only face that came to her mind was Juho. It wasn't Taehee, the one she thought she loved. Her time spent with Juho flashed in front of her eyes. Yes, she missed him.

She signaled the director she was ready to go. The camera started rolling, tears formed in her eyes thinking about Juho. The day he dropped her at the airport, his sad eyes begging her not to go. Tears now started rolling down her eyes. She really wanted to see him. The distance between them, not being able to see him made her vulnerable no matter how hard she tried to cover it up. The director already shouted cut, yet Kamou couldn't stop crying.

Taehee, who couldn't see her crying, rushed to her to console her. He hugged her tightly until she stopped crying. He didn't have any wrong intentions; he was just the kind of guy who couldn't see anyone cry. He would have done the same for anyone else and Kamou was his friend. Though they had been friends for a short time yet it seemed like he knew her for long. He respected her as an actress and saw great potential in her.

When she stopped crying, he teased her for being such a cry baby, earning a slight push to his shoulder. After some time, they got back to filming the rest of the scenes.
