Humanity got to know the truth about this quotation as the greatest change happened on Ceras, when a peaceful planet became the epitome of hell.
It all began when natural disasters struck the planet one after another as if nature's rage was unleashed. The destruction continued for a whole week taking the lives of billions of people when a strange energy engulfed the entirety of the Ceras.
This strange energy caused distortion in the space due to which the planet expanded ten times to its original volume. This expansion caused the space to become extremely unstable as many spatial ruptures were formed. These spatial ruptures looked like cracks in the sky emitting a reddish hue.
The increased volume of the planet and the unstable space caused the gravity to distort and create many miraculous phenomenons to occur like the rising floating islands, reverse waterfalls, frost walls, mutation in some beasts and many more strange things.
After three months, the Ceras started to stabilize as the strange energy started to get thicker. Many scientist came forward to study this strange energy which they named 'Ether' and so another four months passed. As humanity was trying to adapt to these sudden changes, a greater surprise awaited them. When the ether in the atmosphere reached a certain density the spatial ruptures burst open forming a worm hole like gateway which looked like a spiral vortex pitch black in color with a reddish hue surrounding it, through which humanity met its first visitors.
These gateways were later termed as 'Gate' and the first race to come across these gates were 'Elves', following the Elves came 'Dwarfs' and the 'Beast kin'. As humanity was pondering over what stance to take and how to solve the issue of communication barrier to communicate with these otherworldly visitors, the representatives of these three races came forward to communicate with humanity.
The meeting was featured live for all of humanity to watch. The communication barrier was lifted with the help of dwarfs providing an area translator, in the meeting humanity learned that the three races were actually refugees and their planets had become the base of devils and angles; a battle ground for these races to seek domination over each other. Before arriving at their planet they were at the Dracos native planet of dragons but due to their huge pride the dragons refused to form an alliance with them and hence when the Dracos was invaded by these demons and angles they were losing out rather quickly so they had no choice but to fled to another planet through the newly formed gate.
The angle race is an extremely arrogant race which looks down on all other races as they are mere bugs wasting the heavenly resources hence they try to 'cleanse' the world of them. While the demon race is an extremely aggressive race which seeks to devour everything which doesn't belong to them.
What makes angles and demons extremely dangerous is their power to corrupt others for example the elves corrupted by demons become the 'Dark Elves' while the elves corrupted by angles become 'Fairies'. Due to this they always have an advantage against other races and can win over others by divide and rule.
The meeting continued as they discussed many other matters over the span of a week, on the last day of the meeting a peace treaty was signed between the four races but instead of paper it was signed using what the three races called 'Mana'.
After signing the peace treaty, an alliance between the four races was officially established called the 'League'. A period of peace followed after the setting up of alliance along with the rapid growth of humanity with the help of the three races: elves helped humans to learn how to convert ether into mana with the help of 'Mana Circuits', dwarfs helped humans incorporate ether into their technology advancing into a technical era and the beast kin helped humans fusing mana into their martial arts increasing their combat power and potential.
Just like that two hundred years passed by during which humanity showed its adaptability yet again, completely incorporating the teachings of the three races. Just when the long lost peace had returned more gates started to open, even after all the efforts by the League they failed to stop the opening of these gates and what followed was a period of war and chaos.
The war continued for more than three hundred years after all parties were locked in a deadlock 30% of the Ceras landmass fell under the demons and angles each and the rest 40% was shared among the League. Even though the League was somehow able to enter a stalemate with demons and angles it was only due to the lack of powerful beings on their side as the ether density of the Ceras was too low to support them and they were just bidding time for it to increase. The only way for the League to turn tables was for humanities rapid growth as they won't be restricted by their planet's ether density and this was know by both demons and angles.
Hence, they started to corrupt the humans creating 'fiends' and 'spirits'. This caused the human powerhouses to split into 'Heroes' and 'Villains' reducing the Leagues power and continuing the stalemate. Those fighting with the league were considered to be heroes which were apparently more in number compared than villains who generally worked in shadows.
This is the current state of the Ceras after the great cataclysm, its future unknown in the hands of future generation who aspire to become great heroes to overturn their current predicament and bring peace to their planet. Sometimes its just a little push which causes the balance to be broken and that is what all races on the Ceras are waiting for to push the balance in their favor. So who or what is gonna cause the balance to be broken? Only time can tell us...
