Chereads / Don't Breathe / Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

As the two groups split up, Stan and Kyle stayed behind as Cartman was running ahead acting all macho and brave while checking every door by kicking them open as most of them were barely open. It was as if he was a kid again acting out as a cop or something.

"Coast is clear." He hollered.

Kyle rolled his eyes and Stan only shook his head.

"He hasn't changed at all." Stan softly spoke.

"Yeah your not wrong there. Sometimes I wonder if he will forever be an asshole."

"Your kidding right? Once an asshole always an asshole."

The two lightly snickered until Cartman screamed out loud. This startled both boys as they quickly ran toward the direction he went.

"CARTMAN?!" Kyle hollered.

Hearing one of the doors slam shut real loud and him screaming on the other side. Kyle banged on the door yelling his name as Stan tried opening the it.

"It's locked!!" Stan yelled.

Seeing Cartman in the door frame they saw him banging on the door then suddenly stop as he collapsed where they couldn't see.

"CARTMAN!"

Stan looked around for anything to bust the window with and found a fire extinguisher in a glass case. Quickly rushing to action he grabbed the fire extinguisher and smashed the end of it against the glass shattering it. Stan broke all the glass pieces off the now open door frame and unlocked the door from the other side. He quickly opened the door seeing Cartman on the ground with his eyes closed and mouth open. The two rushed on their knees and checked his pulse. The second Kyle went down to his mouth to listen if he as breathing, Cartman yelled out loud, "RAWR!!" This caused both boys to scream out loud while falling on their ass. Cartman louder out loud while sitting up, "Dude you should have seen the look on your dumb faces, Ha Ha!"

"I'm going to fucking kill you!" Kyle yelled while throwing punches at Cartman.

Stan would have stopped the fight but something caught his eye. Looking off in the distance he saw something green and glowing behind a hanging white bed sheet. He didn't alarm the guys as he wanted to check himself if it was safe. When he pushed the sheet to the side, his heart sank to his stomach when he saw human sized tanks with bubbling glowing green liquid inside. He walked deeper in the room when he came across one that actually had someone inside.

"GUYS! COME IN HERE RIGHT NOW!" He hollered.

Hearing the two no longer fighting. It wasn't long until he heard, "what's going o-?"

Kyle stopped in mid sentence when he saw what seemed to be a lab full of test subjects as each tank had a number above from #1 - #17.

"What the fuck?" Cartman said to himself as he approached the tank Stan was looking at. Kyle kept walking deeper in the glowing green lab while the two boys were trying to find a way to get the person out of the tank.

Kyle found a metal door that looked heavily guarded with a padlock requiring a code. However the padlock was sparking as if someone destroyed it. To his luck he opened the door with no problem at all. When he walked inside, he was sure to not make a sound as he was afraid of what might be in the room. His attention was immediately in the back as the lights seem to be flickering with something underneath. Is he approached the only source of light, he saw someone strapped to a chair facing away from him. He quickly rushed to their aid as he ran in front of them to only see it the black haired girl with a gas mask on her face. She had a number 13 burned on her wrist and his eyes couldn't seem to look away from the skin near the edge of the mask. The skin was melted on the metal itself. The skin was overlapping parts of the metal as it must have been stuck to her face for several years.

He was so caught up in the horrific site that he didn't realize that she was still fully conscious. She was looking at her lap as she spoke up. "Kill me.."

His heart jolted when he heard her voice was scratchy and full of pain and misery. He only unstrapped her off the metal chair and grabbed her hand.

"I'm not here to kill you. I'm here to help." He reassured.

She slowly looked up at him as she didn't have any life left in her eyes. Her eyes were practically grey as if she was barely grasping for life.

"What did they do to you." He asked while placing his hand softly on her face.

She jerked her head away from his hand as she looked down hiding her face with her hair. She didn't respond to his answer however.

"Please, you can trust me when I say we can get you out of here. You just have to trust me. I won't let them hurt you again. Alright?"

He saw her slowly peek up through her gapped hair, "R-Really?"

"Yes, I promise. Just take my hand alright?" He said while holding his hand near hers.

It was clear she was real weak as she lightly touched his hand. "I want you to stick by me, you're in no condition to be alone right now." He said.

She only nodded while he helped her up only to cause her to fall on him. He supported her by wrapping her arm around his shoulder and walked her back to the group. To his surprise they seemed to get the person out of the tank with brute force. The tanks completely shattered as Cartman was on the ground holding a boy on his lap supporting his head.

"What happened?" Kyle asked.

Stan was no where to be seen as Cartman was still looking at the hoy. "Stan ran off to find others like I told him. I broke the tank with a hatchet that I found in a glass box against the wall."

"Is he okay?"

"He's breathing but he doesn't seem to be conscious."

Kyle examined the boy more to see he had longer black hair, he was wearing a jacket with jeans and a mask was strapped to his face.

At that moment the fire alarm went off and light started flashing. The fact the alarm was so loud they knew the crazies were being alarmed of their location.

"Shit!" Cartman yelled while grabbing the boy in a bridal style.

"We need to get out of here!!" Kyle said while doing the same with the weak raven haired girl.

As the two rushed out of the building they couldn't seem to find Stan who found out something big. However he wasn't able to tell anyone considering he was now passed out in someone's arms with a Chloroform Rag under his respirator over his mouth. The one causing him to pass out stared the two boys down while carrying the bodies out of the building.

The groups were in for more trouble than ever as they had someone else to worry about other than the crazies outside.
