Friday, December 8th, 7 Years Before The Sacrifice
After James finished up his plans with the village leader he walked around checking on everything.
"I haven't seen Asher in a while, I wonder where he is," James thought
"Hey Mr!" a voice says enthusiastically
James turns around to see the Beast-kin girl from the last time he visited.
"Oh it's you again, what are doing?'" James asks
"Just doing my work," she says
"What kind of work exactly?" James asks
"I'm just delivering some things to people," she says
"Ah, don't let me stop you then," James says
"Alright I'll talk to you later Mr," she says
The Beast-kin girl walks off to deliver the items she is carrying.
(I should look for Asher) James thinks
James looks for Asher for some time until sounds can be heard from just beyond the village.
"Kinda sounds like a wagon, though I doubt it's anything important," James says
James continues to look for Asher in the village until he hears the sound of screaming and metal being banged against metal.
"Well this can't be good," James says
James runs over to the source of the sound and finds the people of the village as well as Asher fighting against what seem to be mercenaries. James grabs a pitchfork and runs over to help Asher fend off the attackers as best he can.
"Fuck off!!" Asher yells
Asher swings his great sword cutting off the head of one of the mercenaries and then he stabs another In the chest. As Asher cuts another I'm half one sneaks up behind him and stabs him in the side. James, seeing him, hits the mercenary over the head with the pitchfork.
"You alright?" James asks
"I would be better if you had killed that guy," Asher says before stabbing the guy on the ground
The fighting continues as so many Beast-kin and mercenary bodies lay on the ground lifeless.
"Do it!" Someone yells
A few seconds later fire is everywhere burning houses and people alike. The fire spreads throughout the village burning the crops and fields. When everything is said and done the village has been completely destroyed. Only a few villagers are still even alive. Hell James and Asher are barely alive.
"Shit" James says
James applies pressure to Asher's stab wound to try and stop the bleeding.
(Shit I would heal him if no one were here) James thinks
(Maybe no one will notice) James thinks
"Heal" James mutters quietly
A green light appears over the stab wound and it closes up.
"That's better," Asher says
"Well that really fucking sucked," James says
"Are we still getting paid?" Asher asks
"I highly doubt it if I'm being honest with you," James says
"Of fucking course!" Asher says frustratedly
The two of them try to help the village recover what they could, which is not much at all.
"We should get going," Asher says
"Yeah I suppose your right," James says
"Can I come with you guys?" a voice asks
Both James and Asher turn around to see a Beast-kin girl staring up at them.
"No, you should stay with your family," Asher says
The Beast-kin girl looks at the ground with tears in her eyes but she does not say anything.
"I see," James says
"What exactly do you see?" Asher asks
"Her family died in the fight, Asher," James says
"Oh, well she should still stay with her own kind," Asher says
The Beast-kin girl looks up into James's eyes.
"Please, take me with you!" the girl cries out
James thinks for a moment and then finally he says
