Moonbright was but an hour away Asher was trying to sleep in the bed of the wagon while James was teaching Astrid how to drive the wagon.
"You have to hold to more firmly," James says
Astrid tightens her grip on the leads
"Like this?" Astrid asks
"Yes nicely done," James says
(Gods could they be any more loud, I'm just trying to sleep) Asher thinks
Time passes and James continues to teach Astrid to drive the wagon until he takes back the leads and keeps on driving.
"How did you and he meet?" Astrid asks
"Umm… Well he sorta just decked me in my face" James says
"Decked?" Astrid asks
"Oh….. um…. punched," James says awkwardly
(Decked? Where the hell is he hearing all this shit from?) Asher thinks
"Wait he punched you!?" Astrid asks
"Yep he punched me right in my face and then he asked to be my friend," James says
(Yeah that's pretty much how it happened) Asher thinks
"That's really wired," Astrid says
"You're telling me, I thought he was going to beat me up if I didn't agree," James says
"I probably was," Asher says
"Oh look who's awake," James says
"I couldn't exactly sleep with all your talking," Asher says
"Well we're almost there so it doesn't really matter," James says
(Not to you maybe) Asher thinks
"Wait, why did you want to be friends with him anyway?" Astrid asks
(Well that's because of his kindness and bravery. The first time I ever saw him was when he was trying to protect my little sister from some bullies. And that's when I decided he would be my friend no matter what) Asher thinks
"He was the closest person," Asher says
"That's sooo sweet of you Asher," James says sarcastically
Their conversation is cut short when they hear howling in the distance. They all look around to make sure nothing this watching them.
"I guess that means we're almost there," Asher says
"Yeah," James says
"I really don't like that" Astrid says
"It'll be fine we're with you," James says
There's a smile on Astrid's face hearing those words.
"Yep, you'll be fine," Asher says
They continue driving until they reach the gate of the city. They stare at a sign that looks extremely worn out that reads welcome to Moonbright. They look at it for a moment and then go through the gate.
"Everyone be on the lookout, we don't want to be caught off guard," James says
