Edric watched the girl dashing out of the balcony, leaving him goggle-eyed. Did she just challenge a boy? A husky, buff boy who had a muscular physique and appeared 10x stronger than her strength. If so, she must have won a white judo belt. On the account of this, he shouldn't be worried about her and go back inside.
He had put the blonde girl on hold before coming out here. It would only be logical if he went on with his habitual pastime. Poking his tongue through the cheek, he tipped his head to the left and did a cervical rotation while undoing the buttons of his cuffs. The first two buttons of the shirt were already opened along his neck, he proceeded to the third and fourth ones. The more loosen up you are, the more you get to move flexibly and the more fun it is.
"Let's not get you into trouble, kitty", he thought the girl had a silly and soft spirit but she turned out to be a feisty kitten. The more he was getting to know her, the more amusing and interesting he found her attractively lively personality.
Scarlett fumed through the lounge area. Did she see her friend and Dylan making out on the couch? Not at all. Did they notice the girl rushing out in a frenzy of rage? By no means.
She sprinted through the crowd out towards the back street. Reaching there, the girl did a bootless attempt to hold back her laughter upon seeing the small bump on the boy's forehead.
To appear intimidating, he growled and was about to launch at the girl when Edric appeared on the scene, resting his hands inside the pockets before the workout would start.
"Edric, I see", the boy spoke, half-surprised, half-excited seeing Edric. The boy never got along with Edric. Not that their fathers shared an old blossomed friendship. It was very common in the business world. The opponent companies' heirs would be natural rivals of each other. Edric always kept a fair distance between his father's business life and himself but being the only successor of a multinational enterprise didn't help him. Someday, he would have to claim his position on the throne.
"I hope your dad didn't freeze your bank accounts for getting into a fight with Mayor's son and breaking his nose, Micheal", Edric taunted. Micheal was also the only heir of M&M cops, the only difference was he was nothing like Edric.
It had become a part of his dad's morning routine to sit on the breakfast table with a fork in one hand and phone in the other, negotiating and persuading the families to not take legal action against his son.
"Instead of worrying about my bank accounts, it would be great if you pay attention to your new slut, Edric", the boy mocked back.
"If you're having a hard time taming your slut, send her over my place. I'll teach her how to be an obedient slut", the boy's words flipped the professor's lid. Edric, however, was still standing calmed, unaffected by the whole commotion.
"What are you doing?", seeing the professor folding her sleeves, he asked.
"Gonna beat his a*s to a pulp. Wanna join?", the girl gave him a crazy smile, raising her brows as if enticing him into a fight, ready to dash out at the boy standing in the front.
"You're gonna beat me with those little hands? I highly doubt", a derisive scoff blew out in the air.
"I can't say about her but I would love to exercise my muscles for sure", the indecent smirk on Micheal's face turned into an irritated and tough expression. Edric was certainly stronger than him. He couldn't beat him fair and square on his own.
"Boys!", he yelled for his bodyguards that appeared behind Edric and Scarlett.
"You can't even fight one-on-one with me", seeing the two burly figures approaching them, Edric ridiculed.
"Always got my back up", Micheal shrugged his shoulders as he switched his gaze back to the girl.
"You", he took a step forward, his hand pointing at the girl.
"Where have I seen you before?", and the cool facade of the professor went evaporating in the air. TV, science magazine, internet, darn, he could've seen her anywhere! What if he recognized her that she was a scientist?! No way tonight. No way this time. She wouldn't want to be called a nerd techie in front of a hot boy she just met two days ago.
"So, Edric, you know what it means when someone says to run?", rolling her sleeves down, she whispered in an undertone to the boy standing next to her.
"When I say run, just run as if you're running a f*cking marathon or have red bull chasing you", she added, her lips pressed.
"What? Weren't you going to beat his a*s?", this was the second time when Edric was caught off guard.
"Hehe...change in plans", she goofily smiled at the boy.
"On the count of one", bringing her arms over her face, she pushed her one leg forward as if ready for combat, hands rolling into tight fits.
"3"
"2"
"Run!!!"
What?!!!!!!
A scream pierced through the cool air, the girl running to her right alley. They were standing on a trivia. On their back, the hefty bodyguards were standing. In the front, there Micheal was. Therefore, she chose the empty side.
"What are you waiting for!!!", when she realized she was the only one running, she halted in her steps. Turning around she found Edric still standing there, bewildered.
"1! You said on the count of 1!!!", after being snapped out of his astonished daze into the spot, he darted across the street.
"Catch them!"
