Chapter 18 - Chapter 18

"Grace, how are you? I hope that you are doing just fine. It feels like just yesterday that you left me while in fact it has been three months. You know, I miss you a lot." Korvin smiled wryly in front of a camera, as if he was talking to his sister. He wanted to hug his sister. He wanted to tell her that he was unable to toast some bread properly, how he could not fry an egg with runny yolk perfectly. Everything that he had done turned out to be a complete mess without her. Nevertheless, he did not want his sister to be sad. He tried to stay strong and happy. Just like what Sean said, Korvin should not make her sister sad by knowing his real condition. "It's not that I miss you real bad or anything. You know, not having you in my life is just like missing a little mouse. Grace, I am doing fine here. I sleep well, I eat a lot, and my education is progressing smoothly. I even got a new job at a multinational company and there is a good chance that they are going to hire me as a permanent staff member. Of course, I have not made a lot of money from my work at the moment. But, I'll have you know that I will pick you up once I am financially stable. I won't let you work in somebody else's house again." Korvin smiled again. He tried so hard to hold back his tears because almost everything that he said was a total fabrication. But he made sure to tell Grace how hard his life was lest his sister would be in deep sorrow. "Your absence is truly blissful. Our home now is so comfortable without you. Now no one will disturb my sleep, you are really a big nuisance at home. Oh yes, Leon visits me quite often. He brought me wheat bread and many other necessities. You know, she tries very hard to win my heart. But I care nothing about it." Korvin drew a deep breath, he readied himself for the final closure to the camera." Grace, I have to go to work now. Old hag without a husband like you better be having a lot of money, yes? I miss you, you know that? I hope we can see each other very soon. I yearn to lay my gaze upon you again. Do not forget to finish your meal, and don't be lazy, Ms. Hester! Do not embarrass Hester's family!" Korvin gave his final words. He shutted the camera down and smiled wryly at Sean.

"Will Grace see that video, sir?" Korvin asked. Sean nodded while gnashing his jaw. There was plenty of misery that this young man desperately tried to hide only to make his sister remain happy, not drowning in sorrow. Sean really took pity on him.

"Here." Sean gave Korvin a small brown envelope.

"What is this, sir?"

"That is Ms Hester's salary that she wanted you to have. Oh, and this one is directly coming from Mr. Nicholas for you. Focus on your studies and leave the workplace where no one appreciates you. For if Ms. Hester knows, she would definitely be sad. You…" Sean was interrupted after he realized how shabby Korvin's clothing was. Sean was certain that Korvin had not spent a single penny on new clothing simply because he had none to spare. "Buy a few new clothes, make yourself look better like a true Young Master of the Hester family. Every month, I will come to give you some cash so you won't look this miserable anymore. Besides, the money that your sister sent to you should be enough to cover all of your expenses right? So you should be able to focus on your studies?"

"I am really sorry, sir. It is not that I do not need money or anything, but Grace's money is Grace money and I won't dare to take any of it even if it is just a penny. As you might already know, sir. I am her brother, who will take over her father's role at her marriage. I will not be a burden to her; she will not have a hard time thinking about marriage expenses. I wish to buy her a house or an apartment including many other necessities for her. I do not want her to financially rely too much on her husband. It would be better for her to have some savings ready so that she can live peacefully."

Sean was really impressed by Korvin's will, he nodded in agreement and smiled a little.

"You can also buy a new vehicle for yourself, Young Master Hester. Going to your college on foot will surely take too much time."

"I can take a bus instead, sir. Trust me, I cannot afford to waste money on such luxury."

Sean laughed a bit. "Well, whatever your reason is, I hope you can accept all of this."

"But I do not work for Master Kyle, why would he give me money as well?"

"He feels guilty for separating you and Ms. Hester. Think of it as a way for him to apologize to you. Please accept this, else he will dispose of it anyway."

"Understood, sir. I will accept this. I thank you once again!"

"Your welcome, I will be going now. Take good care of yourself, Mr. Hester." Sean bidded his farewell and left in a luxurious black sedan. Korvin could no longer hold his tears back, he cried his heart out. He seated down while hugging his brown envelope.

"Good Lord in Heavens, I thank you for your miraculous providence. Grace, I cannot thank you enough. You are indeed a grace of our family."

Korvin immediately ran back to the restaurant to resign from his current job after he delivered his first and last item. Then he hastily made his way home.

Korvin still could not believe that his life would positively change in a snap. He would not be abused by Margareth or scolded by Bob for not paying his rent. He felt that he must bought a new home so that Korvin and Grace would already have a comfortable home by the time she came back.

"Hi Korvy, are you at home right now? I brought you fresh milk and bread!" Leon shouted.

Korvin popped out and yanked Leon into his room. Korvin was unusually happy.

"Listen to me, Leon. Grace and Mr. Kyle gave me some money. You will accompany me to buy a new house so that I and Grace do not need to rent an apartment anymore!" Korvin shouted cheerfully.

Leon was surprised for a moment then smiled and said "Are you serious, Korvy? You are going to buy a house? Do you have any idea how much Mr. Kyle gave you to buy a house?" Leon was curious.

"I have no idea, but I am certain that it is more than I could ever count. I have to buy a house so it won't go to waste."
