This morning, something seems different from Grace's room. She wasn't in her room like the past few days. She would lock herself up all day.
Today, Grace was in the flower garden she'd been making next to Kyle's house for the past few months. She cut some roses that seemed to bloom so beautifully. Later, she put some of the flowers in a vase that she had given water. Meanwhile, she had found some wildflowers around the Kyle family home. She took it and planted it in her beautiful garden.
It can't be helped, indeed. After the last time, she saw the young vegetable delivery boy who died right before her eyes. Grace no longer can buy ornamental flowers that are suitable for planting. However, these wildflowers weren't as bad as everyone thought. Her garden became more colorful than she just saw it barren. Moreover, she had found two sunflower trees. Either from seed or something so that it can grow there.
The weather has not been as extreme as the last few months. The sun has started to shine, the snow covering the roof tiles has started to melt. And the sparrows now seem sublimely pecking at some seeds or even worms for them to eat.
Marvin, who was about to take a few things in the Kyle family's reading room, seemed to stop his steps. He saw out the window that Grace had been busy planting flowers. Marvin looked silent. Should he tell his boss if maybe his woman needed some fresh flower seeds for him to grow in her yard? So that at least the woman had other activities, apart from being reluctant to meet anyone and contemplating the rape incident that she had brutally experienced some time ago. For then, Marvin took a deep breath, walked away from there, then he climbed the stairs and disappeared.
"Miss Hester, are these blooming roses from the garden over here?"
Grace looked up. She saw the Gob already standing obediently behind her. Grace seemed to smile, and then she nodded sweetly.
"Yes, Mr. Gob. Don't you think that they are beautiful? I have planted them with all my heart from two months ago. Who would have thought, they will bloom together with the disappearance of the snow that fills the roofs of the houses here. I think they will die," Grace answered at length.
There are many roses of various colors—some stems with red, yellow, and others. The fragrance began to disturb the smell when the wind started to hit the petals genuine.
"So can I help bring the roses into the house, Miss? You can arrange them according to your taste. I'm sure you can't bring them in with these vases yourself, can you?" bargain Gob. Grace nodded vigorously.
"Okay Mr. Gob, you can bring it if you want. I'll pick some lavender to sweeten it up. And before that, I'll finish my assignment first. I have lots of flowers to plant."
Gob saw the flowers Grace was referring to, and they were all wildflowers in the Kyle household. Gob looked at the right side of Kyle's house for a moment.
"Miss Hester do you need some pretty flowers?" Gob asked. Grace looked up with interest. "Actually if you want, I can get you some pretty flowers at the Jade's, which is next door to the Kyle's."
"Really Mr. Gob? Are you sure they'll give some to me?" asked Grace in a cheery tone.
"That's right, Miss. All right, wait here a moment I'll be there to get some flowers that are there,"
Grace immediately nodded excitedly, especially when she saw Gob go to the side of Kyle's house. He passed a fence with green trees in it. Then he entered one of the gaps there.
Grace seemed to be frowning, and she was pretty curious as to why Gob disappeared. Is there a gap or secret passage from there? If so, she can get out of Kyle's house from there, then she goes.
Not long after, Gob came back, and he brought some plants still planted in black plastic bags. Not just one, but many. He was making Grace immediately get up and walk quickly to Gob.
"Oh my God, these flowers. Do all of these belong to the Jade family, sir?" Grace asked excitedly. She helps Gob bring three flowers. At the same time, the other flowers were brought by Gob. Gob also seemed to nod, then he smiled. he didn't even care if his maid's uniform was dirty because the dirt stuck to his clothes perfectly.
"That's right, Miss. You know, the Jades have a very profitable home business. They cultivate some flowers and fruit. If you want, I can also get some fruit trees for you. But before that, we have to fix your garden first. How about making some shelves or something? That way he will be able to accommodate more ornamental plants. Then, on the other hand, we can make use of the existing land. I will make it more spacious for you, Miss Hester,"
Grace chuckled at the remark. At least now Gob wasn't that stiff with her. If the language she used was more formal and awkward in the past, Gob seemed more relaxed and friendly with her. Perhaps, Grace thought that Goba felt sorry for her. Because maybe she's very lonely here. That was why Gob wanted to be her comrade and be closer to her. With that, she seemed to have a friend to play with.
Gob put some of the plants that were there. Then he rubbed his hands and clothes briefly. He smiled, seeing Grace looking happy with the flowers. Then Gob smiled too.
"Miss Hester, I went inside to get some gardening tools from the shed. I'll be back in a minute," said Gob. Grace nodded her head again, so Gob hurried into the house.
Grace looked at the flowers in amazement, and then she smelled some blooming flowers. The flowers are gorgeous and fragrant, making Grace's sense of smell disturbed by it. Maybe she will take some of these flowers to put on the balcony of her room so that when she wakes up, she can get out of the balcony and see how beautiful these flowers are in the sun. It was so beautiful and refreshing to her eyes that Grace would love to make. At least, she had some fun here. Instead of constantly cursing herself, she kept cursing herself for always feeling that she was unlucky.
"Should I bring more flowers than this so you can always smile, Grace?"
Grace looked up, and she saw a man in his expensive tuxedo standing on the path not far from her. The man looked very manly, his skin neither white nor brown. His eyes were dark, like an eagle's thick black eyebrows, a sharp nose with full red lips. Grace was silent for a moment, and she didn't know who the figure in front of her was. Until she didn't realize it, she also stood up face to face with the man in front of her.
