This morning, Grace and Nicholas were in front of the University. After the two agreed that Jonathan would later resign from his part-time job and focus on his studies first, they decided to take Korvin to campus.
Grace looked at Nicholas somehow, and she was now this close to Nicholas. Nicholas without the frills of his magnificent home, Nicholas without his expensive tuxedo suit, and Nicholas without his bodyguards.
This Nicholas in front of her was wholly different, the Nicholas figure who always made Grace feel so calm, the one that made Grace think if, since when did she become close to Nicholas? Whereas before, the relationship between the two was still very reluctant. They had hated each other just because of love problems which Grace said was very painful and harassing. But who would have thought if all this would turn out differently? As time went on, Grace looked at Nicholas not as terrible as she imagined, even before Grace only saw Nicholas from the terrifying dark side. Grace did not think that now Nicholas was the person who most liked to go out and meet her, being in a crowd like this like an average human. Again, Grace smiled very sweetly. She didn't know what to do now about a problem that made Grace think if what other people said was true, we would never really know someone until we got to know and be close to that person. And don't judge something by its cover alone. It's the truth.
"Why are you looking at me with such a strange look, Grace. Is there something on my face?" asked Nicholas. He seemed to think or even remember the past, for a dozen years had to endure with a crippled face. The face is always feared by the women he invites to make love. Nicholas himself hated the face because it made him remember the pain he had been feeling all this time. The pain of losing his parents.
Grace seemed to be smiling, her fingers now touching Nicholas' face. Nicholas couldn't help but hold his breath when the wound that crushed Nicholas' face, which although now looked smooth because of the plastic surgery, was touched by Grace. How could he not? Even the pain was still evident to Nicholas. It felt so real.
"You have a very handsome face, but why did you always come in the dark when I was at your house? You seemed so mysterious and scary that I thought maybe you weren't real."
"You think I'm a vampire who will suck your blood at night, Grace? Who will hug you so tenderly, cradle your slender neck, then suck little by little the fresh blood that is on you?" Nicholas seemed to be embracing Grace from behind, and his tongue was already caressing Grace's long neck so natural. Grace's body stiffened for a moment, and then she glanced at Nicholas, who looked like he was struggling to contain the rage that welled up in his chest. That's right, how long had Nicholas endured all this. And Grace admitted that Nicholas was serious about it.
Now, Grace turned around so that their faces were not far apart. Their noses touched each other so natural even their eyes were focused on each other's lips while occasionally swallowing their saliva without realizing it.
"You know, even if you were a vampire, you would be the most handsome vampire ever, Nick," Grace smiled. She was about to kiss Nicholas on the lips, making Nicholas smile, then he backed away. Grace looked at Nicholas with a disappointed look, then she stepped back and grabbed Grace's hair gently.
"If you wanted, didn't I tell you, Grace? Ask, and I'll give you until you feel in heaven," Nicholas whispered.
Grace smiled again, and then she looked around the place. Some people are already looking at the two with their strange gazes.
"I want you, Nick. But where we are, we know. There's no way we're making love in the middle of the campus field," said Grace. She was about to leave, but Nicholas grabbed her hand immediately, kissing Grace on the lips greedily as if he didn't even care where the two of them were anymore. His hand had slipped into Grace's t-shirt, unhooked Grace's bra and squeezed Grace's chest so gently. After his passionate kiss, Nicholas moved his lips away and leaned closer to Grace's ear while whispering.
"We could do it anywhere, Grace," he whispered.
