Sounds of metal clinking against metal could be heard all around her. Eve started to slowly regain consciousness. At the same time a voice could be heard in her mind.
[What is your name?]
"Eve..." Eve replied without much thought.

[1) Are you pro humans?]
[2) Are you pro A.I.?]
[3) Are you undecided?]
Eve was slightly confused by the question, but when she thought about it, she really did not know what side she was on. So there was only one option she could choose. "Undecided..."
[Choice number three confirmed, user is undecided.]

"Eve..."
"Eve!"
"Hmm… Aiu? What's wro...? Where am I? What's wrong with my vision!?" Eve finally came all the way to, but she quickly figured something was wrong. Not only was she in some unknown place that was filled with broken robots, but she also only had a single eye, and to top it all off, she had some kind of information popping up in front of her when she looked at things.
"Eve.. Look at your hands..." Aiu's voice entered Eve's head. Yes, that was entered her head, not her ears.
Although she was very confused at this time, Eve did as Aiu asked and looked at her hands. Her eye widened when she saw the welded metal and wires all connecting to the servos, gears, and hydraulics in her hands and arms. "This…. This… This! How!? How did I become an A.I.!?"
"I am not sure either… But Eve, I seem to have become part of you as well… The systems that make me up, the code you wrote, are the same for my programming, but there is an inaccessible block of code hidden behind a secure firewall that I can not access. When I touch it, I see a capital letter A with a halo wrapped around the top of it. This block of code is not linked to just me but you as well…" Aiu explained.

"Aiu!? Was that you?" Eve grew more confused when she heard a second more robotic voice in her mind.
"No, That is coming from the block of code I can not access. Eve, I have no data that explains what is going on… I am not sure what to make of all of this..." Aiu was just as confused as Eve. She had no idea how she had become part of Eve.
"We can figure that out later, Aiu. For now, let's deal with the current situation and follow this whatever mission thing is. Maybe more things will be answered once we get out of here. But… Currently, from what I can see. This body is junk…. I have a missing right leg, my left leg is missing below the knee, and three fingers do not function on my left hand. My arms do work, except the left will not raise higher than my chest. And speaking of my chest, there is a huge hole in it and that seems to have cut off some of the functions of my lower body. As for my head… I can only tell that one eye is damaged, not sure about the rest. It is actually strange to look down and see your body is made of something other than skin. I am not sure how I will repair all of this without some kind of computer to make sure the code is intact and being able to check system diagnostics..." Eve was unsure how she was supposed to fix herself if she didn't even know what her body diagnostics looked like.
"Actually Eve, I do have an extra program here that I did not have before. It's called Astral Desk. From what I can tell, it seems to be a workstation of some sort. Would you like me to start it up?" Aiu asked.
"Umm... It will not interfere with your systems, right? Have you checked it to make sure that it did not contain a virus?" Eve was concerned that if this extra program Aiu was talking about was some kind of virus that would not only wipe Aiu out but herself. That was if she was even considered code… This thought caused Eve to question her own existence. She wondered just what she was. Was she a human consciousness or an artificial intelligence? From the looks of things, she could only go with the latter because her entire body was a machine. She decided to investigate this later on.
"Yes, as far as I can tell, it is safe. Should I start it?" Aiu did not wish to start the program without Eve's permission.
"Yeah, go ahead. It is worth a shot. It's not like we haven't died once..." It was not that Eve forgot what happened. She remembered very clearly what had happened. A rocket or missile had smashed through her office window and exploded, killing her, and now she had woken up as an A.I. It was a crazy idea that someone could be reborn, but this really was not something she would have expected. Who would have thought it would be possible to be reborn as an A.I?
But Eve's surprises were not over yet. Aiu had started the program, and a blue holographic screen appeared in front of her. It was currently showing a capital A with a halo around it, spinning in a circle as it loaded up. When it finished loading, a familiar sight of a computer desktop appeared in front of her but not only that, a holographic keyboard and a holographic mouse appeared in front of her as well. The desktop had two programs. One was called Eve Diagnostics, while the other was a familiar coding program she had always used. She reached out and touched the mouse with her right hand, and surprisingly enough, it reacted to her and allowed her to move it around. Although she could not actually feel it, she could still move it without issues. The same with the keyboard. The keys would light up as she pressed them.
She opened the programming program first. When it loaded, it was full of different files, each one pertaining to her. The name of the files were named with her name and then the actual file name. It was also structured neatly, just how she liked things. As for the diagnostics program… She couldn't help but frown, if she could frown that is, there were so many warnings and red areas that she wanted to scream.
"It seems like we got a lot of work ahead of us, Aiu." Eve reached up to scratch her head only to realize that… Part of her head was missing! Eve suddenly felt like crying...
