Chapter 10 - Surviving troubled water

I'm thrown into the sea, with such force it knocks the wind out of me. My entire body stings like I'm being stabbed by thousands of icy needles. The water is so unforgiving. My lungs burn and feel like they want to burst filled with the stinging salt water at such an unforgiving rate. "Hold on Dahlia!" I hear Raven Star yell. "I will give you some of my strength to help you survive". Suddenly, I became so warm; feels like my entire body is wrapped in a heating pad. I see the surface and I rush stroke after stroke to reach the surface. My lungs ready to burst, my head pushes through the threshold between water and sky. I release a giant gasp for much needed oxygen. Once I reach the surface, I can no longer see the boat or hear my parent's call. I can hear that familiar howling; so I make the decision to head in that direction. I'm berated wave after wave, some flinging me underneath some dragging me in their ruthless currents. The water is a raging beast, that seems that it was set out to devour me whole. It's a battle of life and death and I'm getting tired fast. Darkness has decended on the world around me and I can no longer see anything. The only saving grace I have is that familiar howl that gives me added hope. "I must be getting close" I say to myself. "Keep pushing Dahlia, we're nearly there" Raven Star tries to urge me on. Every muscle in my body is on fire and it's getting harder and harder to keep myself above water, let alone fighting the waves to gain an inch. "Is this how it ends?". As I battle my course forward, I can feel my cheeks warm with a steady flow of tears. "People are counting on me, you have to keep going" I said out loud to myself. Surprised by my first acknowledgement of my pending fate. With new found strength I start swimming stronger and battle the waves, tides and currents with ease. "I can see the shore, Raven Star" I speak to my spirit wolf. "Yes, keep pushing!" Raven Star replies. The impending shore is getting closer and closer. I feel strong and ready to feel land. Side blinded by the crumbling shipwreck, debris crashes into me, cutting me and further hindering my battle. My head starts to hurt, and my eye lids grow heavy. All I muster "I'm sorry" Before everything goes blank. I feel my body Crash onto a hard surface, I feel soggy sand. "I made it" I struggle out. I manage a pathetic display of a few army crawls forward so the water doesn't drowned me. I'm so tired that mere inches of water could be my undoing. Off in the distance through my blurry vision I see what looks like a pair of giant Black wolves with Amber eyes stalking my direction "Beautiful" I say. I must be hallucinating because those wolves aren't scary at all, if anything they're the most beautiful creatures I've ever seen. I thought werewolves are supposed to be monsters, like every folk tale declares. "Finally at last I'm able to touch your sandy shore Ravenwood". I barely manage to turn my head the other direction and I see off in the distance figures running towards me direction. "Daahhhllliia" I hear them scream. "That must be mom, dad and the others". I think out loud. I turn my head once more and the black majestic wolves are inches from my face. I hear them speak to me "Luna" the mysterious wolves says. "You're beautiful" I say to the pair. My eyes are heavy and tired. My entire body aches and it's getting harder to breathe. My entire world goes black.
