Chapter 4 - D&T-Dungeons and Teasing

"Sakura! Sakura! Sakura wait!" Seth screamed after me, but I ignored him and continued my path to the dungeons. The first time he says my name and it is like this. I mean it is not like I am mad at him for hugging her. They are friends, it is what they do. I am just not accustomed to these strong feelings, and I do not want to let that out on anybody. My wolf on the other hand is ready for war.

Seth ran in front of me preventing me from going any further. I did not look him in the eye, so I just faced the ground with a pout. Soren on the other hand continued towards the dungeons. "Hey, look at me," Seth said softly. Letting my stubbornness get the better of me, I refused to look up.

It was only until he placed his hand on the tip of my chin, sending sparks throughout my entire body, did I look into his beautiful yellow eyes. His eyes were practically pleading at me.

"I'm sorry. Please don't be mad." It was then that any lingering anger vanished. How could I stay upset with him looking at me like that? "I'm not mad," I said softly. Seth gave me a look telling me he did not believe me. "I'm just new to this whole mate thing and I couldn't control the rage when that skank touched you. I'm sorry."

I looked down in shame. Once again, he put his hand on my chin to tilt my head upwards so that I was looking directly into his eyes. "That 'skank' is still my Luna." I rolled my eyes and pouted, moving my head to the side. It was again redirected so that I was facing my mate. "You have to respect her. She's of higher rank than you. "

This I could not help but scoff at. I could take the bitch any day. She poses zero threat to me. Magic or not. Seth frowned at my reaction. I must have looked arrogant, but I am not wrong. It was a joke to think she was my superior. Even if Seth does not know that.

"It's not a joke. You and Ranor will not get along if you do not respect his mate. If that happens then I do not know if you would want to be part of the pack. With me." His eyes again turned sad. Those eyes will soon be the death of me. It hurt, even more, knowing I cannot be part of his pack. I still have a job to do. I cannot just abandon it.

"And having a mate is new to me too. We will go through it together, okay, but that is only if you let me. So no more storming off." He gently smiled, but his eyes were stern. I simply nodded and we continued towards the dungeon.

Soren's P.O.V

Seth made his way in front of Sakura, blocking her path. She stopped, but I continued. I made my way towards the dungeon but changed my path mid-way. I needed to scout every inch of this place as much as possible. I trusted Sakura to take care of herself while I was gone.

I need to know where or how Sakura and I could escape without detection if needed. I circled the pack house gaining a few odd stares. In a pack, everyone knew everyone, so the fact that I was an unknown person just walking around was suspicious. I did not bother hiding what I was doing. It was obvious that I was examining the place.

I stopped in the backyard of the pack house. They had an exceptionally beautiful garden with a variety of flowers and plants. I recognized all of them. Some were herbal for healing properties, others were for defense, and most were for eating or just growing. I am surprised nobody noticed the many plants and flowers used for spells.

It was either these people were ignorant, they are growing these on purpose, they have a witch, or I was wrong, and they do know that their Luna is a witch. While examining the flowers I felt a presence come up from behind me. I felt him before I saw him.

Alphas do have a very noticeable aura. It is not hard to detect. "Why are you here and not in the dungeons?" he asked. More like he demanded to know. His voice was aggressive. "I could ask you the same question. How did you know I wasn't at the dungeons?" I asked but already had my speculations.

I did attract a lot of attention. "When I get hearings of a she-wolf with long white hair walking around the pack I naturally investigate." I sigh and then stand out of the crouching position I was in to examine the flowers. My knee-high stilt boots sink into the dirt.

I turn around and come face to face with a very bulky chest. I slightly tilt my head up to look him in the eyes. "Clearly I wasn't being discreet if I was just roaming around with no care in the world."

He barely left an inch between us. I am quite sure it was to look more intimidating, but it was just annoying having his chest to mine. He was in my personal space, and it is ticking me off. Not to mention the overwhelming scent of pine trees and honey that invaded my nose was becoming too much to handle.

"I know that much, otherwise I would've had warriors with me now. My question to you is why you aren't in a cell." His breath fanned my nose and I started to twitch. I have a thing with people being too close. It makes me defensive, and I become more sensitive. My muscles are tense, and it is hurting my neck.

"If you could back up that would be much appreciated. I'm not going anywhere." I said, annoyance clear in my tone. "That's the problem." He frowned but backed up. He was still very much in my personal space, but at least I had space to breathe now. "Glad to know you think I'm a big enough threat to bring back up. To answer your question, if you were told to go to a dungeon with no escort would you go? Nobody was stopping me, so I decided to wander and have a look."

He sighed and kept his eyes on mine. "Well, now you do." I rolled my eyes and made my way to the dungeons with my personal guard following behind me. "Who the hell thought Ranor was a good name?" I accidentally said aloud.

Ranor growled at my comment. "You're such a damn pain." He growled out. I just snickered. "Do you like ever smile?" I asked looking at him. "I smile when I'm happy not when I'm annoyed." He grunted. "Ouch. You hurt me, darling." I placed my hand on my chest and faked a pained expression.

"Darling?" He raised his eyebrows. "Don't tell me you're already falling for me?" He smirked. "You realize I have a mate." Oh, so the big bad alpha has a playful side. "Don't flatter yourself, dear. I call people that from time to time. You should appreciate it. It's far better than 'Ranor' " I mock his name.

"Well don't call me that." the serious expression was back. "Okay, darling," I smirked and picked up the pace. I heard a grunt come from him. "You're going to get me in trouble with my mate." He said when he caught up to me which did not take long at all.

"I know when to hold my tongue. I just choose when not to. Besides, you may be hot, but that superiority complex is such a turn-off when it's directed towards me." I scrunched up my face in distaste.

"My mate likes it. Especially in bed." He smirked looking proud of the fact. I was not. "Ugh, you're a pig." I rolled my eyes but could not help the smile that spread across my face. "I eat those for breakfast. They're absolutely delicious, but not as good as my mate when I stick my tongue in"

I cut that sentence off as fast as possible. "Stop! Ugh, you make me sick." I faked a gag. I do not need to know this. He started to laugh like...genuinely, laugh. I stopped in my tracks and stared at him with shocked eyes.

"You know I can see why you tease people so much. It is fun." He smirked and continued his way. "You're an ass!" I yelled after him.

"Not so nice to be on the receiving end huh?" If he wants to play this game I will play, but he had better be prepared to lose. "You just started a war, my dear boy. As the alpha were you not taught to not start something you can't finish?" he scoffed. "You started it don't make me finish it because I will."

It was soon my turn to scoff. "Okay. We'll see about that." We made it to the dungeons. There were guards by the front door. They bowed to their alpha and Ranor led me down the stairs. When I went down the stairs, I saw silver. A lot of silver. Even the bars were silver. Hell, there was silver powder.

There were your average torture weapons. Chains, whips...A chainsaw. Okay, maybe not completely average. I walked with Ranor to the cell in the back. I looked at my fellow inmates and some looked regretful, others not so much, and more looked insane. Each had at least one bruise. I was taken to the last cell. Across from me lay Sakura and Seth.

Sakura looked panicked when her eyes met mine. My instincts were on high alert. "Thank the moon goddess! There you are." Sakura ran out of her cell door that was open. She ran into my arms, and I caught her. "I'm sorry I was just wandering."

"What are you doing with him?" She said looking towards Ranor. She then looked back at me with an accusing stare. "What did you do?" Great, we went from sad to mad. She looked back at Ranor then back at me as her eyes bulged. "You little homewrecker," she smirked and playfully punched my arm.

"Okay back into the cell with you," I said to Sakura, leading her into her cell. "I have to attend a meeting. I'll leave the interrogation to you, Seth." Ranor said and then left after Seth nodded. "Bye, darling!" I shouted as he was making his way out.

He glared at me while I just smirked leaning against the wall. He pulled the door open and walked out. I sighed. How rude. Not even a reply. "Darling?" Seth questioned. Sakura was just laughing. She knows about my little 'darling' habit. It tends to catch a lot of people off guard.

"Don't worry, your pretty little head dear you'll get the same treatment." I winked at Seth and entered my cell. Sakura glared in my direction. "Sorry," I spoke. Seth just looked at me then back at Sakura until he eventually just shook his head. "Alright time to start the investigation."
