Seth had just informed us that we were registered in the school's system, and we would start tomorrow and get a tour today. I was dressed in jeans and a white crop top complimented with my short boots. My hair was down in its wavy bob. It stopped just below my ears. Soren was in ripped jean shorts and a black spaghetti strapped top complimented by her stilted knee-high boots. Her hair was in a high bun.
These clothes belonged to some girl named Sarah and another named Samantha. They were sisters just like us. Seth would come back for us in a couple of minutes to take us to the school to give us a tour. Since the tour was during school hours, we would encounter a lot of people.
"Sakura you had better cherish these hours with your life because I will never do this again." That was what she said about the last human school we went to yet here we are. "Thanks, sis." I grinned. Seth came back in and unlocked our cells.
"Ready for your first day?" Seth asked me. Things have been a little awkward between us since our argument a couple of days ago. None of us has spoken about it. "No, but thank you for asking." He gave me a small smile and then grabbed my hand. "You are going to be fine." He looked at me with longing. "Please save the sexual tension for the bedroom."
Seth glared at Soren. She returned it with a bland expression screaming "I don't care."
"Will you be there with me?" Seth looked back at me with a smile. "I am a senior so I will not be in your classes. You are supposed to be a senior as well, but because of your lack of knowledge, we cannot put you in those classes. Putting you in freshmen courses is already a stretch."
Excuse me? Lack of knowledge? Does he not think I am smart enough for freshmen courses? I scoffed and shouldered past him. Soren looked at Seth and shook her head. Seth was stunned and looked confused. How someone could be so dense was a mystery to me. Maybe he was the one who was too dumb to take freshmen courses.
I went up the stairs and out of the dungeon. The guards were about to stop me until they saw Seth appear from behind me. "Did I say something wrong?" I ignored him and kept walking straight.
Soren's P.O.V
It was amusing to see how Seth scrambled to find how he wronged Sakura. Sakura sped ahead and Seth stayed back. I went ahead but Seth grabbed my arm and pulled me back. I lifted my eyebrow at him in question as to what he was doing. "Listen I do not know Sakura well and I seem to be doing more bad than good, so I could really use some advice." Advice from me? He has to be joking.
"You don't even like me, but the moment you need something from me you are willing to talk to me? Hard pass. If you want to get to know Sakura talk to her. Put on your big boy pants and man the fuck up." I growled and ripped my arm from his grip.
I heard him say "Why are women so difficult?" under his breath.
Sakura's P.O.V
We arrived at the school, and I saw hundreds of teenagers bustling around. "The school day just started so everybody is getting ready for their classes. Normally we would go to the principal's office so you can meet him, but he is in a meeting at the moment so I will lead you to your tour guide and let her take it from there."
We walked onto the school grounds and people started to stare. Was it our hair color that attracted their attention? Or the fact that we were new? The attention was getting to me. "Relax" Seth bends down and whispers in my ear. I tried my best to keep a frown on my face, but his deep voice was turning my legs into jelly.
He smirked at my reaction. "No matter how mad you are at me I will always have this effect on you." he kissed my cheek then stood up straight again. It was more annoying because he was right. No matter how angry he would make me now or in the future he will always make my heart flutter. I did not know if that was something I liked or hated.
'Your man is popular here. Every girl is staring at him like he is a god, and every guy is either glaring at him or greeting him.' Soren said through the mind-link. I summoned up the courage to look back at the people staring at us and immediately noticed that all eyes were not on us but on Seth.
Oh hell no. These girls must be out of their damn mind if they think for even a moment that I will sit back and watch them gawk at my man like a piece of candy. 'I would not do that if I were you.' I hear Soren say. 'Why shouldn't I? These girls need to be put in their place.'
'This is our first day here and although he may be yours nobody else knows that. To them, you are trying to claim something they have had their eye on for years. If you really want to fit in here, your first impression should not be you growling at every female in the school. Slowly make your claim on him. Do not just bite people's heads off when they do not know they are doing something wrong.'
I sigh and suppress my wolf. Soren was right, again. First impressions are important. We continue to walk in the halls until this blonde female comes up to Seth swaying her hips like she is the shit.
"Hey, Seth." She drops her voice a few octaves to sound more seductive and alluring. "Hey, Samantha." Seth smiles at her. Samantha? Like one of the girl's clothes that I am wearing? Suddenly I wanted to strip myself bare.
She looks at me than at Soren. "So, you are the girl I lent my clothes to." She looked Soren up and down. "They look better on me," Samantha smirked. Soren looked unbothered. I on the other hand was fuming. The first impression was about to be thrown out the window. I know the kind of impression Samantha is giving off and I do not like it one bit.
She leaned over to touch Seth. She put her arm on him and started moving her body. "I am having a party tonight. I would love it if you went. You can bring the freshmen if you want. Or they can stay at home and study. They seem to need the extra brain cells."
Was this the kind of crowd Seth hung around? I was about to give this bitch a reality check. Soren put her arm in front of me to prevent me from going toward her. I glared at her and she gave me a look. "I've got the bitch." her golden eyes glowed. Soren approached Samantha. She went in between her and Seth.
"Excuse me, I am in the middle of a conversation." She touched Soren's shoulder to push her away. Big mistake. Soren growled and grabbed Samantha's arm, twisted it, and pinned her to a locker.
"Keep your filthy hands off of me you mutt," Soren growled. "You are one to talk rouge." The bitterness in the way she said rouge made me think she had more dislike of them than the common wolf.
"Soren, stop!" Seth shouted. At this point, all eyes were on us. Classes were forgotten about, and we were the center of attention.
"Get her off of me!" Samantha shouted. Soren let her go with a shove. "Gladly. You reek of cheap perfume." Soren said with distaste. "You cannot just put your hands on people! This is a pack! We are not barbarians. Whatever you learned out there does not apply here. We treat each other with respect!"
Soren and I looked at Seth in disbelief. "Respect my ass! She degraded me and your mate then dared to touch me, but when I put my hands on her I am the bad person." Seth growled. It was loud and dominant. "I had it under control."
Soren stepped up to him, which could be seen as a challenge. "Yeah? And what the hell were you going to do about it?" Seth started making a low growl and Soren responded just as pissed. "Stand down." He growled. Soren made no attempts to back up. I grabbed her arm and pulled her towards me. "Stop. What happened to first impressions?"
She snarled. "That was for you. I have no intention of kissing any ass. I do not care about what these people think of me, but I know you do."
A lady with luscious long black hair and green eyes strides into the scene. It was the Luna.
"Everybody get to class right now!" The students put the phones that they were recording with away and scurried to class. Not without bowing to their Luna first.
"That includes you and Seth," she said to Samantha. "Ugh, whatever." She did not even have respect for the Luna. She dusted her clothes off and marched to class. Seth approached me before leaving, but I backed away from him.
He gave me a look of hurt. "It is time for you to go. I have it handled from here." the Luna says. Seth reluctantly walked away.
"It is not even your first official day here and you are already stirring things up." she smiled at us. "Is it our fault that your pack cannot practice what they preach?" Soren snapped. The Luna's eyes widened a bit. "You are very direct." she gave an awkward chuckle. Soren huffed. "My name is Ela." She reached out to us.
"Soren." Soren looked reluctant to touch her hand. "Sakura," I said trying to be the more polite person of us two. "You are Seth's mate." I frowned at the sound of his name but nodded my head anyway. "Try not to be too upset at him. He is new to this. It is even more difficult for him since you two are rouges. You are only making it harder on him when you go around assaulting other students." She looked at Soren. "People already do not trust you. Try not to give them any more reasons not to."
"I am going to be blunt. Why are you hiding the fact that you are a witch?" I face-palmed my forehead. Ela looked taken aback. Her face paled. Not only did she look like she has just seen a ghost she was starting to look like one. "I am not trying to call you out or threaten you. I am simply curious." Soren tried to reassure her.
Ela gulped. "I do not know what you are talking about." So, she is doing this the hard way. "Our sense of smell is more enhanced. Being in danger daily will do that to a wolf. You smell of witch, and those herbs in your garden, common ingredients for spells, but if you insist on you not being a witch then I will not push on the matter."
"I think we should start the tour now," Ela said and spun around. Soren and I gave each other a look. We walked behind her at a decent distance. She showed us the classes we would be taking. Everybody looked at us in every class we went into. The teachers would bow to Ela. Turns out they have some of the same classes as humans. We have geometry, literature, pack hierarchy, chemistry, combat training, and shifting, and the other two are electives we can choose. We had the same classes, but not the same schedule.
My schedule was:
1st period- Pack hierarchy
2nd period- Geometry
3rd period- Chemistry
4th period- Combat Training
5th period- Literature
6th period- Shifting
Soren's Schedule was
1st period- Combat Training
2nd period- Literature
3rd period- Shifting
4th period- Geometry
5th period- Chemistry
6th period- Pack Hierarchy
It worked as a block schedule so we would have odd numbers on A days and even numbers on B days. We had our first period every day. It was similar to the human high school we attended. Even that school had a Samantha.
"Our schedules are nothing alike. The only thing we have together is lunch right before 5th period." I frowned. "Maybe this is a good thing. You will gain some independence without me sniffing down your back every two seconds. What really sucks is me having combat training every day. Do you know how much I will have to hold my wolf back?" She whined.
"Yeah, that sucks." Our last two stops on the tour were the cafeteria and the gym. "What are you going to pick for your electives?" I asked Soren. "Art and dance. You?" I thought about it for a while.
"Glee and dance. I was surprised glee was not a club but a class." We arrived at the cafeteria.
"Lunch is going on so there will be quite a few people," Ela warned. She opened the double doors and the moment those doors opened a rush of noise filtered our ears until it suddenly stopped. The cafeteria got quiet in the presence of their Luna. "It is okay everyone. Please go back to eating." It was apparent that Ela was shy. She tensed upon all the gazes of the students.
The students did as told and continued eating and talking. The cafeteria was set up in a stereotypical ideal. Everybody sat with their own "kind". You had cheerleaders, basketball players, football players, nerds, geeks, the dweebs, and so on.
You could tell who was in what group just by looking at them. "God I just got a major vibe of deja vu."
I understood what Soren was saying. The human school was just like this. It is why it was easy to identify the groups.
Overall, the cafeteria was huge. A couple of people passed a curious glance but nothing too bad. Some people even sat on the outside benches. The school was a 3-story building. It held a generous number of students, to say the least. The football field was across from the cafeteria. It was humungous. The grass stretched for miles and the building for the dance team was somewhere beyond all the grass.
It was on the field where combat training and shifting classes would happen.
The art room was right above the cafeteria with stairs leading up to the door from the outside. The art room was in the same area as the music room and dance room.
Dance classes were different from the dance team. We made our way out of the cafeteria and into the gym which was on the other side of the school. Ugh. The first thing we heard come from the gym was the squeaking sound of shoes.
A random group of guys was playing basketball. A hot random group of guys. Snap out of it Sakura you have a mate. You cannot gawk at guys anymore. I slapped my cheeks together to get the thoughts out of my head.
The gym was just as huge as everything else in this darned school. It could hold the entire school if it needed to. No doubt it has for assemblies.
"That concludes our tour," Ela said at the front of the school. "I am going to go. I have things to do."
She did not wait for a reply as she scurried off.
"So how do you like this place so far?" I asked Soren. Hopefully, she did not change her mind.
"I want to burn it down. It is time for us to do our daily check." Our daily check was when we would make sure the earth was staying healthy and strong.
"Maybe even run our wolves it has been too long," I speak. I could feel my wolf agree with me.
"Normally I would say that was a terrible idea and we should be more cautious."
"But?"
"But I completely agree. I feel completely suffocated here. And I want to see our brothers." Yes!
I need a break from that dungeon.
