While the Alpha Prince was not around, he left his Beta in charge of everything.
Dumped and surrounded with tons of documents, Beta Gavin whined in complaints due to the bulk of demands from the work left behind by their Alpha Prince.
Ever since he left for a personal matter about his savior.
"Arrghhh!!! Why am I left here with all of these problems and paper works?" Beta Gavin loudly complained while going over the documents.
The chief of staff in the mansion entered the main office with a tray of refreshments and sweets for the Beta.
She noticed the pile of paper works and documents scattered around in the main office of their Alpha Prince.
"Oh, Lady Cynthia!" Beta Gavin moaned the chief of staff's name in complaint.
"It seems that Prince Kratos has left you with tons of work!" Lady Cynthia chuckled at the sight of Gavin.
"I want to resign, can I?" Gavin mumbled in his complaints.
"No, you can't?" Lady Cynthia refused to accept Gavin's surrender.
The old lady watched the sturdy young man lie flat on the carpeted floor of the main office. And then she opened the curtains to let the sunlight shine some ray of light to brighten the room from its dark and gloomy vibes.
Instantly, Beta Gavin covered his eyes from the abrupt entry of sunlight across the room.
He groaned in complaints.
But Lady Cynthia was persistent and had no signs of backing down.
Gavin's tone became serious and he started to talk about something else.
"You are right, Lady Cynthia! How can I resign if our Alpha Prince has not yet found his mate? What will he do on his own against those other wicked family members of his father?" Gavin mentioned a serious issue regarding the dynamics of the royal family members.
Lady Cynthia was glad that Gavin felt the same way as she did.
Their Alpha Prince needs them.
"Prince Kratos needs us more than we need him. He is surrounded with enemies. There's no one can be trusted in the royal palace," Lady Cynthia laid out the facts regarding those who surround their Alpha Prince.
She continued to elaborate further, "If we leave him on his own. He will fall to the schemes of his other siblings, especially their queen mother!"
A brief moment of silence echoed in the room.
"So, you also think that the queen schemed for the recent attempts on our Alpha Prince's life?" Gavin raised an intriguing issue.
"If it's not her majesty, amongst her children, they are scheming to end the life of Prince Kratos. There are numerous times they threatened his life and openly show their dislike towards him," Lady Cynthia said without any hesitation.

Gavin nodded along gently at the things stated blatantly by Lady Cynthia.
Seemingly agreeing with her thoughts and realizations.

Right after the incident with Veronica, she did not have the stomach to risk it all. She paid heed to the threat towards her life.
Day after her horrible experience, Veronica did not waste her time. She went ahead to the chief of their division and submitted her resignation letter.
The division chief thought that the gesture of Veronica in her resignation was due to their secret affair.
"Are you resigning because of me? You can't handle it anymore? No one is suspecting about us. I thought you are willing to go far as we can," the division chief expressed his surprise at Veronica's sudden decision.
Veronica has already decided and her life was at stake.
If she dares to go against the warning and order of her mysterious caller, there will be no next time for Veronica.
"I can't tell you but someone knows our secret and I have to resign or else we will be both in a dire situation. Once it becomes public that you committed adultery and an unethical act, it will only mean prison time for both of us!" Veronica gave a valid reason in order for the division chief to accept her submission of resignation.
Thus, the chief was forced to approve the resignation of Veronica.

News circulated after she packed her things and left the building.
Saying her goodbye and parting words to other employees, except Scarlett.
Many wondered at the resignation of Veronica, including the red velvet-haired only daughter of Richard Pride.
She knew that things will only get worse for her.
Instead the tension in the office would dissipate and mellow down, indifference of other employees towards her worsened, due to the resignation of Veronica. Scarlett was further isolated by the other staff members.
Only Ivon approached Scarlett, while the others tried to avoid Scarlett and refused to talk to her.
"Have you heard the news about the resignation of Veronica?" Ivon was curious as Scarlett was.
Both of them were surprised by the decision of Veronica so suddenly. And it was out of her character to submit her resignation just like that.
But now, the primary concern of Scarlett was not the resignation of Veronica. It was the growing alienation of other employees towards her.
It would be more difficult for her to achieve her objectives at work.
"Yes! I heard about it. Surprising as it may but her decision doesn't concern me as much as I am worried about how will I implement our projects and presentation reports with this kind of working environment," Scarlett stated the obvious.
Even Ivon could not deny the fact that other employees were unwilling to work with Scarlett.
In the attempt of Ivon to change topic, she asked about the dinner of Scarlett and Prince Kratos, who was currently under the disguise of Gavin's identity.
"Meaning, you have finalized the proposal and the presentation tasked to you? Then, the dinner with hat handsome consultant of our Vice President was productive!" Ivon presumed from Scarlett's statement.
Scarlett only nodded. She want to act unaffected by the things happening around her but she needed some space to think. Because she was being reminded on how others treated her before in her past life, just because of her foster care system background and being poor.
Those memories came flashing back to her because of how the other employees were treating her.
Reminding her of her past.
Something that Scarlett doesn't want to think of right now.
"Let me excuse myself! I just need some air outside," Scarlett excused herself while leaving Ivon on her own.
Ivon felt bad for Scarlett because she was being ostracized in their division. She could only empathize with her.

~Moments After~
Scarlett went to the garden floor of the Pride Holdings Enterprise, hoping she could relieve some of her stress by staying at the garden.
Unexpectedly, Scarlett was joined by Prince Kratos.
"Why are you alone here, Miss Lively?" Prince Kratos appeared from behind her.
"Oh, Mister Gavin!" Scarlett did not expect Prince Kratos' presence.
They were both surrounded by different fresh flowers.
Mostly, there were sunflowers around.
"Please, just call me Gavin!" the Alpha Prince persisted in his façade.
Prince Kratos tried to comfort Scarlett in the huge garden of the company. Both of them shared a moment where they talked about their sad life, misfortunes, and desire to have their own family.
Scarlett was referring to her life before, and not her new life with the Pride Family.
Their conversation began to go deeper unexpectedly.
"I don't know why but talking to you seems to be easy and comforting. Do you have magic or something and you are charming me over?" Scarlett jokingly uttered to the Alpha Prince.
Prince Kratos laughed at Scarlett because it was a silly thought for him to have magic and a charming personality.
Because others see him as a serious guy and no hints of silliness. A total opposite from what Scarlett just stated to him.
"That's a first! You are the only one who finds me charming and comforting. I usually make others shiver by my serious exterior," Prince Kratos opened up to Scarlett.
And he was surprised at his own feelings when Scarlett smiled.
The wind blew some of the strands of her red velvet hair.
As Scarlett tugged her hair behind her ear, Prince Kratos blushed and felt some heat within.
For the first time, Prince Kratos perceived Scarlett in a different light.
Into a more attractive way. Not just his savior!

He was completely taken by her beauty and presence.

While Scarlett and Prince Kratos were spending time together in the garden, Scarlett's father saw them together from afar.
Richard Pride stopped from his position while his staff was discussing about something important which was related to their upcoming conference with our possible investors.
Scarlett's father began to feel uncomfortable to see his only daughter spending time with the Alpha Prince.
For him, it's too complicated to be involved with a member of the royal family, just like the Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack.
Out of nowhere, Richard Pride gave an instruction to his staff to call Scarlett and the Vice President to his office discreetly.
"Tell Miss Lively to see me! And show her the way to my office privately! And tell her to submit a resignation letter," a serious tone on Richard Pride's voice.
