Sitting comfortably with his hot coffee, Prince Kratos called someone in the phone.
His tone was very serious as he spoke to someone.
"How's the job I ordered you to do? Did you successfully pull it off without any unnecessary entanglement?" Prince Kratos made sure of his plans to be executed perfectly, the way he wanted it.
After few minutes on the phone, the werewolf prince was reassured by his hitman that the command given was executed successfully.
He was satisfied with the results and felt vindictive at the moment.
Something inside him wondered why he felt so involved when it comes to Scarlett. He could not explain it to himself. So, he thwarted the thought in his head and diverted his concern to the image of his savior, a red velvet haired woman.
Unknown to Scarlett, Prince Kratos overheard everything regarding her confrontation with Veronica through his sharp senses.
As a werewolf, his senses were extremely sharp. Specifically, his sense of smell.
In his thoughts, Prince Kratos expected that Veronica would get the message and feel threatened enough to leave her job at the Pride Holdings Enterprise.
Waitresses and other female customers in the restaurant could not help themselves but feel attracted to the werewolf prince seated on his own.
He was waiting for someone to arrive.
"Forgive me sir, is there anything else you want from the menu?" the hostess tasked to entertain the VIP guests approached Prince Kratos in her attempt to flirt with him.
The hostess felt embarrassed when the werewolf prince ignored her advances.
Her figure and beauty was not appealing for Prince Kratos to even take a notice of. She questioned herself if what was wrong with her or if she smelled unpleasant.
Only if the hostess knew that Prince Kratos had only one woman in his mind, his red velvet haired savior.
"No need, I am waiting for someone. Until then, I will just have my coffee," Prince Kratos was too focused in his anticipation of having Scarlett together for a dinner.
"So, you are having a dinner for two? I thought the reservation was for one person," the hostess felt disappointed that the handsome prince was expecting someone else to be with him.
Other women in the restaurant observing the handsome werewolf prince felt disappointed as well. They were eavesdropping discreetly at their conversation and were able to find out that there was someone he was waiting for.
Somehow, they were still hoping that he was waiting for someone not intimately close to him.
Women from another table kept an eyeful watch on the handsome prince.
His tall, well-built, sturdy, and masculine figure were recognizable from his seat. Without talking or looking to other women, Prince Kratos swooned over the hearts of those women around him.
Until the arrival of Scarlett ruined their fantasy of him. The women around became displeased at her presence. Especially when the handsome werewolf prince treated the red velvet haired Scarlett with care.
They all wished to be in Scarlett's shoe.
Scarlett quickly noticed the eyes of those women around them glaring at her and shifting away from her glance.
"Finally, you came!" Prince Kratos stood and assisted her like a gentleman.
Richard Pride's only daughter wore a simple short golden dress and her presence commanded attention.
Her beauty was like no other.
The handsome werewolf prince could not help it but feel the pull of attraction coming from Scarlett's presence.
"I am on time! You are the one who is unbelievably early. Excited much?" Scarlett casually greeted Prince Kratos.
"There is an important business I had to take care of! I had to go over it carefully because I do not want any unnecessary trouble in the future. Sometimes people have to be accountable for their misdeeds. Do you want to order anything?" Prince Kratos explained himself.
"Ooh, this is a fancy restaurant you have chosen for our dinner!" Scarlett beamed in excitement but she whispered to the handsome werewolf prince afterwards. "Isn't this too luxurious and exclusive restaurant? How did you get by for the reservations? This looks like a restaurant for the rich and famous!"
She continued to keep her identity hidden. The same way with how Prince Kratos wanted to keep his royal status and werewolf identity hidden from Scarlett as well. Because he doesn't want Scarlett to stop seeing him.
He could not fathom the thought of Scarlett, his savior, avoiding him. Once she finds out that Prince Kratos is a werewolf. Being reminded of the time when Scarlett told him that she does not trust werewolves.
Though, the true reason behind it was due to the cause of death of the main female character of the story. Scarlett Pride died because of the Alpha of Crescent Moon Pack. Making her desperate in trying her best to avoid being connected to the Crescent Moon Pack.
A smile was seen on his face after listening to Scarlett's whispers while she tried to cover their faces with the leather cased book for the menu.
Witnessing a sight of silliness coming from Scarlett.
"You know, we don't have to whisper like this. We can afford this as executive employees of Pride Holdings Enterprise. After all, we work at the best and wealthiest company here in central region," He told Scarlett.
Scarlett realized how silly it was for them to be in such position.
Then, Prince Kratos unexpectedly spotted someone familiar from a distance.
Likewise, Scarlett was trying to feign ignorance as she saw someone familiar as well.
Diverting her attention to the menu. Trying to choose her own meal.
Before Scarlett could speak up, Prince Kratos stood up and excused himself to Scarlett so he could stop someone from approaching him.
"Hey, big brother!" a familiar face greeted the werewolf prince.
Stopping him from getting near Scarlett, Prince Kratos blocked his younger brother's path.
"What are you doing here, Owen?" Prince Kratos asked his younger brother.
"Shouldn't I be the one asking you that? What does a royal prince and an Alpha doing here?" Prince Owen whispered to Prince Kratos' ears.
"It's something related to father's task. Something you cannot relate because you are too busy wasting your time," the older prince threw the first snide comment.
It was not received well by his younger brother.
"I thought you would be kinder after that accident you just survived from," Prince Owen did not hesitate on speaking his mind to his older brother.
An increasing agitation was evident on Prince Kratos face.
"Oh come on! The queen mother thinks you should be kinder now that you have your second life!" the younger prince implied to his older brother the queen of werewolves may be involved with the supposed accident but in fact Prince Owen was responsible for the threat on his life.
"Why would she even…" fazed by the new discovery, Prince Kratos tried his best to keep his cool and prevent a confrontation with his younger brother.
He doesn't want Prince Owen to ruin his disguise as Gavin. Because once he let his younger brother talk to Scarlett, his younger brother would most likely reveal his true identity.
Thus, preventing the two from interacting would be the best option for Prince Kratos.
A sinister smirk was seen on Prince Owen's face.
Evidently, he was showing how much he dislikes his older brother.
"Anyways, I lost interest in introducing myself. I just wanted to see who might be this woman that has taken your interest this much. Since you are too aggravated for me to meet her, maybe some other time then. You are not the only one who is meeting up with family of hunters," Prince Owen walked away from his older brother.
Prince Kratos was relieved to see his younger brother take off and let him be.
But he became curious about the involvement of the queen of werewolves with his accident.
On the other hand, Scarlett was also spotted by her own older brother.
Despite Scarlett's attempts to hide herself discreetly, her older brother still caught on her familiar features.
At first, her older brother was doubtful and hesitant until the side frame of her face was revealed to him.
As he made his way to her, Prince Kratos returned to his seat.
Turning things more complicated for Scarlett because she doesn't want her older brother to reveal her true identity.
There was no way of stopping her older brother from approaching.
Especially, Scarlett knew how over protective her older brothers are towards her.
"Uh-oh!" Scarlett mumbled to herself.
The Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack wondered at Scarlett's sudden mumbling.
"Is there something wrong?" The Alpha asked.
"Nothing! It's just my friend in college approaching," Scarlett blatantly lied without blinking an eye.
"Alec! It's been a long time, isn't it?" she exclaimed with pretense.
Nervously wishing for her older brother to play along.
Taken aback by his younger sister's attempt of hiding her identity. Scarlett's older brother was reminded of her intention to work while hiding her true identity from the public.
But it wasn't included in their condition of letting her work in the company, for her to meet people without their permission.
A short pause at first before responding.
"Hi, I am Alec! Nice to meet you!" Alec introduced himself.
As he introduced himself, Alec became familiar with Scarlett's companion.
