"Your Majesty there are complications we have to discuss." A doctor stood holding a clipboard, remorse in her voice.
"What are you talking about? How's my wife, my son?" His Majesty stood up furiously.
The doctor flinched and took a deep breath in. "Lady Lullaby is perfect. It's your second son your Majesty." The doctor managed to get out.
"Let me see him." His Majesty growled as his eyes beamed a bright yellowish green.
The doctor gulped down the knot in her throat and moved to the side so His Majesty could go into the delivery room. Bursting open the doors and to his surprise, Lullaby was holding in her arms a blue blanket and smiling from ear to ear. Lullaby had looked up from the blanket and made eye contact with Riukin. Her smile soon turned into a frown and tears began to roll down her cheeks. "Darling." Lullaby choked on her words.
"What happened?!" Riukin asked in panic as he rushed to Lullaby's side.
"Your Majesty. Your son only has a few hours to live. His heart is very weak and will stop beating in a matter of 3 hours at max." A nurse standing next to Lullaby had informed him.
Riukin's face had gone pale from the shock of the news. Looking down into the blanket, he had seen his son look up at him with the brightest green eyes that pierced through darkness like a laser. His son was pale and clammy to the touch. Riukin couldn't believe that he would lose a baby. He already had one, and he was standing outside the door to the room, peering at his father in worry. Riukin changed his face, went and picked up his first born and held him in his arms. Walking over to Lullaby and letting Ocyris look down at his baby brother, Ocyris's face lit up with joy as he climbed down from Riukin's arms and sat next to his mother.
"Mommy, why is he pale?" Ocyris asked looking up at Lullaby.
Lullaby looked at Ocyris "Dear, your brother is sick and he's not going to be with us much longer."
"But he just got here. Where would he go?" Ocyris asked, embracing his innocence.
Lullaby's eyes began to tear up. "He's going to watch over you from above son."
"No, I don't want him to go up there!" Ocyris screamed and climbed down from the bed, running out of the room in disbelief. Riukin had ran after him and grabbed a hold of his arm.
"Where are you going? Go spend time with your brother." Riukin enforced, knowing this could be the last time Ocyris saw his brother.
"No, I have to save him before he goes away. You said it yourself father, I have to protect him." Ocyris yanked his arm away and ran towards the exit. Riukin looked after him and ran right behind him. Riukin didn't have the slightest idea where Ocyris was going, but when they made it to the tower that was connected to the castle and located on the opposite side of Lullaby's birthing room, Riukin had an idea. Ocyris made his way up the stairs and to the top of the tower where a black and gold relic was floating above an all-brick stand in the center of the tower.
"Can I help young man?" a voice called out from the darkness the covered the walls of the tower.
"I need to barrow this. I only have a few hours left." Ocyris said to the walls.
"I'm afraid you can't. This is especially important to the universe." The voice beckoned beyond the dark.
"Well, my brother is more important." Ocyris said and reached for the relic, but as soon as his hands were close enough to touch it, Ocyris was shot back and pinned against the wall by an unseen force.
"You cannot touch the relic young man, or I have no choice but to end your life." The voice growled.
"Mage, release him." Riukin called from the stairs.
"Your Majesty I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there." The voice appeared in front of Riukin, the man's purple velvet cloak pooled around him as he knelt before him.
"Cain, we've known each other for a lifetime, but I'm about to lose my newborn if we don't do something." Riukin began. "He is only going to live for a few more hours." He choked on his words.
Cain looked up at Riukin with pale silver eyes. "I understand Your Majesty, but what do you expect me to do. I can't get rid of the relic. I cannot control it either. What can I do?"
Riukin looked down and then at the clock that floated above the stand. Thinking for a few minutes, Riukin looked at Cain with a doubtful but hopeful look. "Have my son be the keeper of the clock."
"What do you mean?" Cain asked.
"My son's heart is bad. Replace my sons' heart with the clock. Have him be the keeper of time." Riukin said, doubting his own words.
"Your Majesty that's a long shot. And it all depends on whether he can control the clock's power for this to work. Your Majesty, your son is a new newborn, not even 2 hours old. If this doesn't work, he's going to perish anyway."
Riukin went silent "Do we have the power to pull this off?" Riukin questioned.
Cain went silent for a while and looked at the clock. "We'll give it a shot. Let me take down the barrier and I'll contact Scarlet. We'll meet you in Lady Lullaby's birthing room in a few minutes."
Riukin nodded, grabbed Ocyris and ran for Lullaby's room. When they enter the room, Lullaby was already in tears. Her son was fading faster than she had expected. He was paler than before, and his breathing was becoming labored.
"Riukin, he's fading." Lullaby choked though her tears.
Riukin embraced Lullaby tightly and whispered. "Hurry Cain."
Within seconds Cain and Scarlet materialized into the room with the Clock in their hands. "Lady Lullaby, please place your son in your lap, going the length of your legs."
"What are you going to do?" She questioned as she placed her baby gently on her legs.
"It's a long shot, but we'll try and safe his life." Cain said and began to chant a series of spells. The lights in the room flickered and the sounds on the baby's heart monitor were beating faster and faster. The clock was floating above the baby and the hands on the clock began turning. Scarlet, Cain's wife waved her hand over the baby's chest and suddenly brought a diagram of the baby's bad heart and chest cavity up into mid-air. Replacing the clock with the heart within the diagram, the clock was then placed into the chest of Riukin's and Lullaby's son. The lights had stopped flickering and the room became silent. Scarlet smiled and looked at Lullaby. "Lady Lullaby, I will need to fuss my blood with the clock, for it to keep him alive." Scarlet informed. Lullaby nodded and allowed Scarlet to do what was needed. Scarlet began to recite a couple of words while cutting a small incision on her left-hand ring finger. She placed her hand above the baby's chest and allowed her blood to drip onto the center. With the magic she had recited, the blood seeped into his chest and within in seconds, the baby's color had come to and that long awaited first cry was heard throughout the halls of the hospital wing in the Palace. Lullaby and Riukin embraced each other and began to shed tears of happiness.
Ocyris smiled and leaned over his baby brother. "What's his name mommy?"
Lullaby looked at Riukin. "Gabriel." They said in unison.
Ocyris smiled and ran a hand over his brother's head. "Gabriel."
"Lady Lullaby, Your Majesty." Cain called out.
"Yes?"
"In doing this since Scarlet and myself were protecting this relic, His Highness is now the new keeper of time. Do you understand what this means?"
Riukin nodded. "We'll be fighting to protect him for the rest of our lives."
"Yes. Being the keeper of time means that he has the ability to do anything he wants with the clock, and since it is literally his heart, he will become immensely powerful."
"How powerful?" Lullaby questioned.
"He comes from a long line of power My Lady, so looking at his parents, his grandparents and the rest of his ancestors plus now that he has the clock, I would say, powerful enough to kill millions, if not more than that, with the mere gaze of his eyes, if he wanted to." Cain said.
Riukin and Lullaby widen their eyes and look down at Gabriel. Lullaby picked him up from her lap and held him tightly in her arms. "Then I guess we'll need to step up security." Lullaby smiled. "We will protect your life even if it costs us ours."
Riukin smiled. "Cain, what protective measures do we have to take, now that the barrier is down?"
"The only thing that will need to be done is for repair reasons, we've found that Scarlets blood is a sealing element. Scarlet will need to do this every year on his birthday, to keep it from ruining his body internally and mentally. As for the barrier being down, you can expect a higher number of unwelcomed guests."
"Then I guess we'll have to find special people to guard our special boy."

"Your Highness. It's time to wake up." A female voice beckoned beyond the bedroom door. The maid opened the door as slowly as she could and made her way through the darkness. His highness's room was large compared to a normal room, measuring at about four hundred square feet. As she went to reach for the black silk curtains that covered the floor to ceiling windows, her body seemed to suddenly stop; her arm in mid-air, about to grab the curtain. Everything in his room stopped moving, the fan above them, the other curtain that was moving from the wind of the fan, even the maids breathing.
"Brother. Knock it off." Ocyris called through the open doorway.
Gabriel's neon green eyes pierced through the darkness and looked though Ocyris like he was invisible.
"Gabe." Ocyris said sternly, raising his eyebrows.
Time suddenly began once more, and the maid had dropped to her knees. Ocyris rushed over and helped her to her feet. "Are you alright ma'am?"
The maid looked up at Ocyris and immediately stood and bowed. "Yes, Master Ocyris. It's just that I do believe he had stopped my breathing." The maid said grabbing at the ruffles that were on her chest and connected to her uniform. She proceeded to open the curtains to the windows, allowing all the sun light to pool into Gabriel's room. Gabriel groaned and rolled over, covering his eyes from the light.
"Only ten years old and able to stop someone's breathing as well as their surroundings. Wow." Ocyris said surprised and sat on Gabriel's bed, uncovering him from the silk black comforter he had covering him. Gabriel was curled up into a ball with his raven black hair draped over his shoulders and in his face.
"Come on now. We must go see Father and Mother. They have things to discuss." Ocyris tried to persuade him out of bed.
With a groan "They can discuss it amongst themselves then. Just report back to me when they're done." Gabriel ordered from beneath his hair.
"Spoken like a true prince from hell. Let's go." Ocyris demanded and forced Gabriel out of bed by making his body float up and off of his bed.
Gabriel was in his black cotton pajama pants and a plain white shirt. His hair still hung in his face, but his eyes were clear as day. "Put me down. I'll get dressed."
"Thank you." Ocyris said and suddenly dropped Gabriel back onto his bed, making him bounce from the mattress to the floor with a thud.
"Ma'am, go ahead and prepare a shower and his royal attire. We're going to the meeting room after he gets dressed." Ocyris ordered. The maid nodded and did as she was told. She began in the bathroom and turned on the water; hot enough for the steam to fill the room. The clear blue water ran down the shower walls, but the maid had to add a special touch. No ordinary water could touch Gabriel or his race, as it was toxic to their health. The maid raised her arms, put her hands together; interlocking her fingers and began to chant a spell. Within minutes the clear blue water had turned black.
"Your Highness, your shower is ready." She voiced as she exited the bathroom.
Gabriel nodded as he got up from the floor and made his way into the bathroom. The bathroom was covered with pearl white tiles that sparkled like diamonds, but the shower walls were pure granite, and the only thing that blocked the water from running all over the bathroom was a pure granite wall that was connected to the shower and was closer to the drain and the square stainless steel shower head. Gabriel undressed and slowly stepped into the water, making sure the temperature was perfect. The black water ran down his body, rejuvenating his skin, allowing him to become more awake. The maid had left to go and prepare his clothing. She placed them on the bed and knocked on the bathroom door.
"Your Highness, do you need anything else? Your clothing Master Ocyris has requested that you wear is laying on your bed." The maid voiced from beyond the door.
"No. You're dismissed." Gabriel's voice echoed from inside the shower.
"Yes, Your Highness. Please call if you need anything else." The maid said and took her leave, closing his bedroom door on her way out. Gabriel finished his shower, turned off the water, wrapped his waist with a white towel and made his way out of the bathroom still dripping from his hair. Looking at what his brother suggested, Gabriel wrinkled his upper lip, but wasn't protesting the outfit choice, but protesting the fact that he had to get dressed for the day. Managing to get dressed in an all-black royal uniform with a green silk cape hanging from the back, Gabriel checked his appearance in the mirror that was placed next to his bed. He dried his hair and then placed it in a loose ponytail so that his hair could still hang freely, then he looked at his eyes and toned down the color. The brightness of his eyes was one thing, but when the sun or any other lighting had hit them, they would blind everyone else and leave Gabriel with a massive headache; being able to dim his eye color meant lesser headaches.
"Are you ready?" Ocyris's voice came from the corridor.
Gabriel opened his bedroom door with force and attitude. "How many times a day are you going to come by my room? Don't you have anything else better to do?"
Ocyris grinned, put Gabriel in a head lock and began to walk with him like that. "No, I actually don't. I love bothering you first thing in the morning." He said with sarcasm.
Gabriel managed to free himself from Ocyris and punch him in the side. "I hate you."
"Love you to little brother." Ocyris laughed and proceeded to walk down the halls. As the boys walked, so did the 3 lines of security personal behind them. If the boys stopped, security stopped. They made their way to their parents meeting room. The meeting room was blocked by two white doors that were from the floorboards to the 20-foot ceilings. Two guards also stood on either side of the door. When the boys approached, the guards bowed in respect and opened the doors.
"Master Ocyris and His Highness have arrived Your Majesty." A guard announced from the doorway.
"What took you so long?" Riukin hissed.
"Gabriel didn't want to wake up this morning. He also stopped the maid from opening the curtains."
Riukin glared at Gabriel, who also glared back at him.
"Oh, I did forget to mention that he stopped her breathing as well." Ocyris smiled as he made his way over to a seat at the meeting table.
"Stopped her breathing?" Lullaby questioned. "Since when."
Gabriel shrugged. "I don't know. When she unfroze, she told brother that her breathing stopped."
Riukin looked at Lullaby concerned, with raised eyebrows. Quickly snapping out of it and returning to the matter at hand, Riukin made his way around the round table that sat in the middle of the meeting room. "Alright, with that aside, I have three people I need to introduce you to."
"For what?" Gabriel protested.
"Sit down!" Riukin growled.
Gabriel did as he was told and sat quietly next to his brother, with Lullaby standing behind them.
"Gabriel, your mother and I, have set up personal security for you."
"What's with the security, I already have like twelve hundred freaking guards around me every single damn day father. I really don't think I need any more." Gabriel protested his father again.
Riukin, trying hard not to throw his own son out of the chair he sat in, took a deep breath in and let it out. "Ocyris."
Ocyris nodded. "Brother. Just listen for now ok. Then bitch and complain after father has put his words in."
Gabriel crossed his arms and shut his mouth.
"Ok, you three come in." Riukin voiced into the hallway.
Three people had come out of the shadows and stood in front of Gabriel, Ocyris and Lullaby. All three took to their knee. Gabriel looked at all three of them, but kept his mouth shut like Ocyris told him. "Gabriel these three with be replacing the 'twelve hundred guards' you have now. Though all of the palace security will still be here, these three will be personally for you."
Gabriel looked at Ocyris. "Now you can detest the idea." Ocyris whispered.
"Really? An old man and two little kids like me. What can they possibly do?" Gabriel commented.
"Your Highness. Permission to speak?" The older of the three that knelt before him spoke up.
"Granted."
"Please allow us to show you what we are capable of. We will serve you until we no longer exist in this world or other worlds."
"What's your name?" Gabriel questioned.
"Tanto, Your Highness."
"How old are you?"
"Thirty years old, Your Highness."
"What about the other two?" Gabriel asked and looked at the two kids who knelt next to Tanto.
"Markel, I am eight years old Your Highness."
"Ally, I am six years old Your Highness."
"Six and eight years old and they plan to be my guards. What kind of shit is this?" Gabriel stood, kicked the chair from behind him and took his leave."
"Your Highness!" Tanto called out and was immediately silenced by Ocyris.
"If you plan to show him, you need to send these two. He didn't question you as much as he did them." Ocyris pointed to Markel and Ally. Tanto nodded and looked back at Markel. Markel understood and within seconds, both had vanished before their eyes. Up in the rafters of the ceiling, Markel and Ally had tracked down Gabriel who was wondering the Palace halls. Markel looked at Ally and nodded. Ally smiled and suddenly appeared in front of Gabriel, making him jump about three feet in the air.
"Holy shit. How did you know I was here?" Gabriel questioned in shock, grabbing at his chest.
"Your Highness? Is your heart ok?" Ally questioned as Markel appeared behind Gabriel.
"No, you scared the crap out of me. So, it's kind of running wild." Gabriel complained as he tried to collect himself. "How did you know I was here?" Gabriel asked again.
"Master Ocyris sent us to come find you." Markel commented.
Gabriel glared. "I don't need you guys. Go away."
"We can't do that Your Highness." Markel ensured his new position.
"Oh yes you can." Gabriel glared Markel down and his aura began to turn black.
"Wait Your Highness, how about we just be friends for right now, how does that sound?" Ally spoke up quickly.
Gabriel softened his glare and looked at Ally. "And why would you want that?"
"Well, you don't really know us, and we are around the same age as you Your Highness, so maybe instead of being your guards right now, we can just be friends." Ally nervously smirked.
Suddenly the sound of hands clapping came from the behind Gabriel and Markel. Gabriel turned around and saw Ocyris and his parents along with Tanto and the rest of the palace security. "That's a great idea." Ocyris said. "Just start out as friends and then progress from there."
"I don't need friends." Gabriel again protested.
"Listen, little brother. You don't go to school like the rest of the kids in this Kingdom, you are home schooled by the teachers' mother and father had set up for you. So, if two kids want to be friends with you, then let them." Ocyris tried to convince him.
Gabriel looked back at Markel and Ally and then looked back at Ocyris. "Fine." Gabriel said, ultimately regretting his decision. Ally suddenly squealed and jumped on Gabriel's back, wrapping her arms around his neck, in a friendly manner. Everyone in the palace security jolted forward, but Ocyris raised his hand to stop them. Gabriel glared back at her but let her be. Markel smiled and walked in front of Gabriel and held out his fist. Gabriel looked down at Markel's hand and hesitantly put his fist against Markel's.
"Let's be friends." Markel said smiling.
"Sure." Gabriel seethed.
****
The Palace was busier than usual, and the security had been heightened. Today was a special day and everyone in the Kingdom was going to be in the Palace's ball room. Gabriel had just finished with his yearly heart sealing, that was now done by Cain. Markel stood outside of his bedroom door as Cain began walked out.
"You still out here Markel?" Cain questioned as he put his hands in his robe sleeves.
"Of course. I may be his friend, but I am his personal guard as well." Markel smiled.
"You know for being eleven years old Markel, you sure are mature for your age."
Markel nodded and watched as Cain took his leave down the hall. "Gabe, let's go!" Markel screamed from the hallway. "I know I'm your friend, but Palace rules state, unless it's an emergency, I still can't go into your room without consent from you!"
"Shut up." Gabriel said as he emerged from his room fixing his all-white royal uniform for his birthday party that his family had set up for him.
"Dude. You're 13 years old, how does it feel?" Markel joked and pushed Gabriel a little bit.
"I don't feel any different." Gabriel said and continued to walk down the hallway. After a short period of walking, they finally made it to the ballroom where everyone from the Kingdom had been. Music and dancing, eating and drinking were all a part of this celebration.
"Announcing, His Highness and Sir Markel have entered the ballroom." The guard from the balcony announced. Everyone in the ballroom turned toward Gabriel's direction, cleared a path in the middle of the dance floor and knelt before him. Gabriel and Markel had made their way through and came to the beginning of the staircase that winded up to the balcony.
"I will never get tired of that." Markel smiled as he looked at everyone kneeling.
"I'm beyond tired of that." Gabriel grinned.
Gabriel made his way up the stairs and to the balcony. Looking out over everyone, "Rise." Gabriel announced from the top. As commanded, everyone rose to their feet and faced in his direction. "Thank you all for coming to the party. Please continue to enjoy yourselves." Gabriel finished and turned back around.
"Where's my father at?" Gabriel asked as he leaned up against the railing of the balcony.
"He's upstairs in the other formal meeting room. Said he had business to attend to." Markel said and stood next to Gabriel.
"Business on my birthday? Great." Gabriel complained as he took a drink from the butler who stood next to them with a silver tray in his hands.
"He's just trying to make an alliance with someone, to better protect you." Tanto suddenly said as he appeared with Ally right next to him.
"Happy birthday, Your Highness." Ally and Tanto said in unison as they bowed to him.
"Thank you but stop bowing. I get enough of that from the Kingdom." Gabriel said and turned around to look at everyone in the ballroom, but when he turned something had come from the ceiling and hit the floor in the ballroom with a bone cracking thud. Palace security had rushed to Gabriel's side and Markel, Ally and Tanto were surrounding him as well.
"What the hell is going on?" Tanto asked, looking at the dust and debris that covered the ballroom.
"I'll go scan the area." Ally suggested but was pulled back by Tanto.
"Don't. His Highness needs you here. Stay here and protect him." But before Tanto could call out the next command, the head of Palace security, that blocked off whatever had come down from the ceiling, screamed towards Tanto. "Get His Highness out of here this instant! Shut the Palace down!"
Tanto nodded and dragged Gabriel away, Markel and Ally close behind.
"Tanto let go of me!" Gabriel screamed.
"I can't do that Your Highness. You must be protected." Tanto said as he kept dragging Gabriel along. Gabriel managed to break Tanto's grip and took off towards the ballroom, but when he got there the sight was ungodly. The dust and debris had cleared, and Gabriel's eyes had widened, and his breath became heavy. His father laid dead in the middle of the floor, covered in blood as it soaked his uniform and the white stone floor. Gabriel's aura turned black instantaneously and his eyes illuminated the room like a neon green sign in complete darkness. Gabriel slowly walked towards his fathers' body, breathing rapidly with rage. Markel, Ally and Tanto were too late, Gabriel was silently standing there over his fathers mangled body and staring up at the hole in the ceiling. Gabriel then busted out into high pitched wail of agony and wrath. The lights in the ballroom began to burst and the tables, chairs and everything around him was disintegrating into nothing but ash.
"Your Highness, stop!" Tanto screamed, but his voice was unable to reach him.
Gabriel continued to scream, and the rest of ballroom ceiled was collapsing around him and turning to rubble. "You will all die!" Gabriel screamed. His body began to ascend, overlooking everything he had damaged. "There will be no more!" Gabriel growled through his teeth. Placing his hands in a 'C' like shape and placing them on his chest, he called forth the power of his heart. Gabriel's clock was emerging from his chest, but before he could inflict any more damage, Ocyris managed to point his finger and shot a ray of light at his brothers' chest, temporarily disabling him, making Gabriel fly towards the floor. Ally slid her way underneath of Gabriel and caught him before he hit.
"Tanto get him out of here. I'll help Security find who did this." Ocyris screamed and ran towards the Palace doors.
Tanto nodded and grabbed Gabriel's limp body from Ally and took for the cellar. The cellar was deep beneath the Palace and was protected by Cain. Cain awaited them at the doors to the cellar.
"This way, hurry." Cain said and ushered them in quickly.
"Markel watch over His Highness. Tanto come with me." Cain ordered.
Tanto handed Gabriel over to Markel and then left with Cain. Markel and Ally stayed behind to watch over him. Things seemed to quiet down after a little while, and the cellar had gone painfully quiet. Hours had gone by and the evening sun had turned into the moon. Tanto then emerged from the doorway and Markel and Ally took to their feet.
"His Majesty?" Ally questioned.
Tanto shook his head. "When His Highness wakes up, there will be major changes."
Ocyris quickly came from behind Tanto and ran to his brother's side. "Brother?"
"His fine Master Ocyris. He just passed out from the power he had admitted, and the light beam you shot at him." Markel informed. "If you didn't stop him when you did. This whole kingdom would be nothing."
"This kingdom will become nothing as of tonight." Ocyris said in agony.
The cellar went quiet. "Did you find who did it?" Cain asked as he walked into the cellar.
"They found traces of wolf hair. All guards are searching the Palace grounds and out in town. They were after Gabriel." Ocyris said and looked at his brother with worry in his eyes.
"What happens now?"
"War." Ocyris fumed.
"But we're already in the middle of one." Ally responded.
"Yes, and now the one we are in, just got a whole lot bigger. The responsibilities that Gabriel is going to have now, are also a lot bigger and you guys will have to be there for him."
"What do you mean?" Markel questioned.
Ocyris stayed quiet, then letting out a sigh he said. "I gave up my right to the throne."
Everyone's eyes in the room went wide with shock. "Why did you do that?!" Cain questioned.
"I love my people, but this kingdom needs a ruler like our father, and the one who is fit to rule is Gabriel, not me. I'm happy with the decision I've made." Ocyris looked down, but was soon taken back by Gabriel, who was moving around. Gabriel began to open his eyes slowly and Ocyris held his hand quickly.
"Brother? Are you ok?" Ocyris asked.
Gabriel looked at Ocyris; he already knew what happened and his eyes burned with rage. Everyone in the room could see the hatred and pain. "There's going to be changes isn't there?" Gabriel said low underneath his breath.
"Yes."
"Where's mother?" Gabriel asked.
"She has fallen ill. With father's sudden death, mother has been assigned to bed rest until her health returns to her." Ocyris said.
"Then you need to do something brother." Gabriel looked down.
Ocyris licked his lip and pursed them together. "Brother I can't."
"What do you mean?" Gabriel glared at Ocyris.
"I refused my right to the throne. The next one on the throne is you brother." Ocyris said but before he could defend himself and his decision, Gabriel sprung to his feet and suddenly grabbed Ocyris by the collar of his shirt and lifted him up off the ground.
"How could you!" Gabriel yelled.
Despite how dark green Ocyris eyes were, they suddenly flashed a bright light knocking Gabriel back, having him slide and hit the wall. "You do not get to disrespect me Gabriel. I gave up my right to the throne because I saw you fit for it, instead of myself. With father now dead and my right being gone, mother is down ill, so that makes you King Gabriel. Do you understand?" Ocyris said as he adjusted his collar.
Gabriel's eyes went wide and placed his head on the palms of his hands. "How do I pull this off. I only just turned 13." Ocyris knelt to Gabriel's level. "Don't worry, myself and everyone behind me has your back. We will lead you into success and you will lead this kingdom into success as well, Your Excellency." Ocyris smiled.
Gabriel looked up from his hands and saw everyone on one knee, giving him the respect as the new King of the Middle Kingdom.
