Chapter 5 - A Vampire....? Or Maybe Not?!

"Among all the creatures you paired me with, you thought of me as an angel. How amusing, were-.... human," the man said, as he groomed himself back to the way he was the first time I met him.

After hearing the doctor's speech, my mouth remained gaped open, wondering the things he had said. And when I finally digested those words as a trivial matter, his shadow appeared, with his two canine teeth disappearing from his lips. Within a few seconds, the physician I remembered came back to normal…

Well, that was what I expected to happen.

"What happened? Were we just in the middle of the street? Did you lose your shadow and ordered it to return? Why do you have fangs and some sort of weird cape behind you?" I gasped, before continuing to my next question. "You're definitely an angel to me!"

"Quit it!" the doctor growled at me, while baring his complete adult teeth. "I already told you to scram from my hospital!"

"But I did?" I interjected, whilst tilting my head.

"Here's the part where you shut it!" the doctor shouted, as he pushed me back towards the office. "This time, I want you to get out of my sight before-."

Before the doctor could even complete his sentence, heavy footsteps resounded in the distance. As I stole a glance at my side, a group of men wearing loose polos and shirts went our way.

My eyes met with the man walking at the centre, with him glaring at me. He revealed his tongue and twisted around his mouth like a madman. That bloke even playfully caressed his hands around his well-built chest, trying to attract me with his "man" scent. The nurses behind me all fluttered in delight, even falling on the ground, except for me.

"Hmmm?" the weirdo guy hummed to himself, as he stopped by at my side.

The doctor grabbed me by the shoulder and dragged me behind me, as if protecting me from this group of shady men.

He let out a snarl and spoke with dignity, "How can I help you as your doctor, Min-Joon."

"I told you not to call me that in public, Chun-Soon…. you're such a disappointment as always," the man, whom I assumed was the leader of his pack, glared daggers at the doctor.

'So, this doctor's name is Chun-Soon? Chun-Soon saved me!' I thought, while waddling my feet like a duck. 'But this guy's name is Min-Joon…. He spells bad news! I can literally see those words slammed on his face! Better not go near that guy.'

Lost in thought, I mumbled those words as the two men butt their heads against each other. However, Min-Joon, the man wearing formal attire, glimpsed behind Chun-Soon. The doctor slid himself to the side, covering my face from the crooked man.

"And I see you're still a prick, as always. If you don't have any business with me, leave," the doctor warned, as he grabbed the door using his hand.

But the hellish looking man stopped him from moving the gates and met Chun-Soon's eyes. "Boo-hoo, Chung-Soon. You're such a meany! Is that how you treat your personal client these days?"

"No. I'm just giving you my special treatment, you fucking masochist."

Despite his scary looks, that man, Min-Joon, had the strength of an elephant! If Chun-Soon could zoom in and out of places, this guy was like Superman from the comics! I mean, look at him! He nonchalantly stopped Chun-Soon's hand with little effort at all!

"I hate beating around the bush, and we all have things to do…. So, care to explain what happened earlier?" Min-Joon asked, and presented his phone with a video playing by itself. "This is you, right? Well, phones cannot capture evidence of vampires, but that's you. And I would bet all my money for that."

The tape contained me stranded on the streets in the middle of the road. When the green light turned red, all the cars avoided my figure. But as soon as the truck entered my view, the image turned black for a mere second, blinding everyone present. Within a few seconds, the scene resumed, with me disappearing from the road.

As soon as Chun-Soon watched the clip, he stepped back, trying to hide inside the comfort of his office. But when Chun-Soon realised he cannot escape, he took a deep breath and nodded his head.

"Yes, that was me. And the girl I saved was my…. special patient. So you don't have to waste your time bothering me after I answered your question," Chun-Soon confessed, and nudged me forward.

As soon as Min-Joon knew the two of us watched the video, he turned off his phone and returned it inside his pocket. He then faced us with a crooked grin, while listening to Chun-Soon's explanations.

"Just smile and don't say a thing. Remember, you're a shy girl, and you have memory loss," Chung-Soon whispered, as I faced Min-Joon and his lackeys. "Act normal...like a human."

I did not know what the freaking pizzas Chun-Soon meant when he said "act like a human". Am I even acting wrong all this time?! Was my movements all an act to entertain someone watching me from afar!?

The glare from Min-Joon's eyes stopped those thoughts from bombarding my head. It took a few seconds before that guy averted his gaze from me.

"I truly wasted my time. Sorry for bothering you, doctor. I'll be on my way," Min-Joon said.

But instead of heading onward, he went to Chun-Soon's ears and exclaimed, "And here I thought I smelled a wolf's scent. You probably haven't seen anyone with a wolf's scent now, have you?"

Beads of sweat slipped down from Chun-Soon's face as he heard Min-Joon's question. I, who did not know what they were talking about, remained silent from the conversation.

But that wicked man never left me alone as he sent two bulging eyes glaring in my direction. Compared to what I saw before, Chun-Soon did not cover my face, which let me witness the horrible sight of Min-Joon. For the first time, I feared for my life. If those eyes could kill, I would have been lying on the ground already.

I finally thank the heavens above when Min-Joon released me from that jail. It was the most horrifying one minute of my life when that guy glared in my direction.

"You must become senile, Min-Joon. If there's a wolf, I would have already studied it... or killed it," Chun-Soon remarked, as he returned to his usual fierce state, while cracking his neck. "Or are you doubting me and my expertise, Mr. hotshot?"

Chun-Soon had the last laugh, since Min-Joon did not have any counterattack. After saying his fill, Min-Joon finally left the hallway. He went inside the elevator, together with his statue-like men. As soon as they disappeared from my sight, I lifted my foot and readied myself to explore the world!

But that did not happen, since Chun-Soon's hand still locked me in place.

"Uhm-, can you let go now?" I asked, with teary eyes.

"No. On second thought, you're staying with me."
