If Min-Joon found me inside this place, he would surely tell Chun-Soon about it! It did not take me a few minutes to recognize that person was a douchebag! I did not want to ruin Chun-Soon's career as a doctor by rescuing a stray person like me!
I previously shook my head while thinking of that thought engraving inside my brain. The only thing that mattered most to me was Chun-Soon's career and my hiding place. He was a doctor that had an extremely apex title working inside this hospital. And it would be a shame if he would lose his job all because of me. So I had no other excuse but to hide, look for a spot, and wait for Min-Joon to leave this room.
"Why is this place so small!" I commented, while looking everywhere for a place to hide.
Not in a million chances I would hide under the bed! If there was something I learned from movies, hiding under the mattress would get me insta-killed! There were no curtains or closets I could fit inside, which made me realize how screwed I was.
As I looked around the room, my eyes widened when I got hit by the bookshelf for the second time. My feet stepped on something, and it was too late when I raised it. But that accident led me into my haven.
Upon crashing against the bookcase, the wooden rack moved to the side, revealing a spot deeper through the wall. It had a different vibe compared to the hidden room. And if I had to measure this place, that second hidden room had more space than the first secret area.
"A hidden room inside a hidden room... How big is Chun-Soon's place, anyway?" I exclaimed, and dove my way inside the narrow space. "T-There's no more time for me to think!"
After squeezing myself at the spot, I pushed back the shelf to its original place and prayed that Min-Joon would not find me. There were dozens of obvious hiding spots right in the open, waiting for Min-Joon's exploration. I could only hope that this event would pass by before my body could pass out.
Fortunately, there was a hole that allowed me to see through the other side of this area. I did not have any time to look around as I glued myself to the wall, spying on Min-Joon to appear.
"Please be an idiot, and look under the bed," I mumbled, while begging for the deity I had never heard of.
As soon as I finished telling my prayers, Min-Joon finally found his way inside and opened the hidden room. I, who had been staying inside for a while, could not solve the puzzle and left this place… Well, not that I wanted to leave, since Chun-Soon had multiple books stored for me.
My train of thoughts got dispersed when the man finally entered the room. The walls moved to the side, creating an entrance for Min-Joon to enter. Within a second, he jumped inside the secret room, with his eyes looking at everything he witnessed.
Every step Min-Joon took vibrated the cells inside my body, screaming in pain. A river of cold sweat slid from my face, drenching me with sweat from this intense scene.
As the man himself walked forward, Min-Joon stopped by to gaze at his surroundings. His eyes first glanced at the wall, then the bed, and ultimately at the clustered books on the ground.
Min-Joon knelt on the ground and picked a book in his hands, with his eyes narrowed down. His pointed nails almost scratched the book's ends. But fortunately for the two of us, Min-Joon retracted his razor-sharp nails as he held the book. If he didn't, Chun-Soon would have probably guessed that someone visited this place.
"Vampires and Werewolves....," Min-Joon mumbled, and went on to the next few pages. "That doctor really dedicates himself to studying us."
"Us?" I whispered accidentally out loud.
Upon realising my mistake, I instinctively covered my mouth using my hands and stepped back from the wall. Luckily, I hit nothing that could produce another noise compared to what I did before.
However, that was not enough to take away Min-Joon's curiosity. Despite being imperceptible from my eyes, footsteps coming from the other side of the wall signified Min-Joon creeping closer to my place. And one push at the shelves would reveal my hideout and Chun-Soon sacred place that even I had yet explored.
Min-Joon returned the book to the ground, afraid it would mess things up, and proceeded to the shelf. Before he could even do something at the bookcase, a noise of some sort alerted the two of us. It came from the outside, which only meant that someone planned on entering this place.
The sounds we heard only meant that Chun-Soon must have been on his way towards his office.
"Shit….," cursed Min-Joon.
After saying those damned words, he cast a spell, similar to what Chun-Soon conjured, and vanished from the hidden room. There was no doubt he disappeared after producing those arcane, since Min-Joon left some mana particles inside this place.
Although I believed I was a human being, the arcane fragments touched my skin, which had told me otherwise. Only vampires and werewolves could only sense these shards of magic. But that did not apply to me.
However, despite these thoughts, returning to the hidden room became my utmost priority. I didn't even have the time to analyse this second hidden room. But I stole a glance and witnessed dozens of dead bodies resting on their deathbeds, with blankets that belonged to hospitals. Some of these carcasses had a faint glow of arcane inside their bodies. And a few of them were just normal human beings, which the book indicated when I first read them. I could only assume that these people were werewolves, vampires, and humans mixed inside the room.
But I had no time to spare and raced outside that hidden chamber and went from the usual place.
When I reached the room, I dove on the bed and grabbed a few books in my hands to read. These books were just props I wanted to use, since I already read them earlier. It was just to confuse Chun-Soon, telling him that nothing eventful had happened….
