Kai watched Lila sleep. She looked peaceful and innocent at rest. But he preferred it more when she was awake. Looking up at him with her blazing eyes. The way those silver orbs would narrow in annoyance was such an amusing thing for him.
He thought about the words she said to him. If what she said was true, then, he needed to investigate the said issues. It has been so long since he last interfered with other packs. Kai liked things under his control.
He was engrossed in his thoughts and failed to see Lila shaking in her sleep. She was having another nightmare. Her body turned from side to side, in discomfort as she perspired.
It was only after she started crying in her sleep that he jerked up out of his thoughts.
One look at her and he knew she wasn't well. Was she mayhap dreaming about the attack of the slayers? He clenched his fist as he walked towards her frame.
Kai sat beside her and gently rubbed the sweat off her forehead. He smoothed the furrows in her brows and watched as her breath eventually got steady.
He was about to stand when the sound of a knocking came from the door. Since he closed the door earlier he had to open it on his own. He looked astonished after finding Sienna's smiling face.
" What are you doing here?" He asked not willing to let her in. " I came to apologize. Can you let me in at least? I am tired from climbing the stairs already." She complained.
It took him a minute to decide before letting her in. The second her eyes fell on a sleeping figure, she lost it. All the initial innocence she had put up was gone. In its place was an ugly monster. The girl was livid.
She didn't wait to ask for an explanation as she made a beeline for the sleeping girl. What she hated most was for any woman to get close to the person she loved. No matter whether he liked her or not, he was hers. No woman was allowed to touch her properties.
Kai matched lazily to his chair. He was ready to watch a drama. ' I wonder how she will react. ' He felt giddy with excitement. His wolf frowned.
' Idiot, what if our mate gets hurt? She will hate you for not helping her. Aren't you scared that the witch will kill her?'
' Dude, calm down. I am sure you feel what I feel. She isn't as simple as she appears. I want to see her reaction. Besides, if it gets out of hand, we shall intervene. Just promise me that you won't take over! This woman might take advantage of us again.'
' Fine. If she gets hurt, it's on you.' Grumbled the wolf. At this time, Sienna was fuming as she watched the girl sleeping peacefully. The more she looked at her, the more annoyed she felt.
Sienna went towards Lee intending to slap her awake when her hand was held midway. Even in her sleep, Lee was vigilant and attentive. When Kai approached her earlier, she had not reacted because his scent was familiar and comforted her.
Sienna, however, was a different case. Her scent was new, she felt the animosity from her even in her sleeping state. Additionally, she was used to being attacked before that when she slept, she kept her guards up.
Lee's hands went straight for Sienna's neck as she strangled her. She opened her eyes and looked at the woman. It was only then that it clicked in her mind. ' Oh no. I just sold myself.' Her gaze widened in shock as she let go of the girl as though she was burnt by her skin.
Her eyes teared up. When she glanced at Kai from her peripheral view, she saw the thrill in his orbs. ' This man likes drama, I see. Then I will give you an unforgettable one.'
She jumped off the bed to the other side as though she saw a ghost and started bawling her eyes out. " Mother. Mommy. Mommy. I am sorry mommy. I am sorry. I didn't plan to be born like this. Forgive me, mommy. Forgive me." Her caterwaul filled the room.
Sienna was busy catching her breath. She was still recovering from being strangled a while ago. Kai on the other hand was alarmed. He wasn't sure if she was only acting or if she was in distress. He recalled how she was perspiring in her sleep!
Was her reaction to Sienna because of her dreams? Or was she just such a good actress? Well, he got his questions answered shortly after. At first, Sienna didn't know how to react to the girl's cries. She recalled the reason for her anger and instantly felt angry again.
That was enough to refuel her anger. She growled towards Lee whose frame was curled up into a small ball. She heard Sienna's footsteps and waited for her actions ready to react. Sienna raised her hands, her entire strength put into it ready to hit Lila.
What she wasn't expecting was for the girl in question to time her movement and make her slip. Lila dodged the hand and stretched her leg in a lithe manner making Sienna fall on her face. She didn't wait around for her to recover as she ran towards where Kai sat howling in laughter.
" You want to watch a drama right, then I will give you only the best. Don't blame me. It's your fault after all." He froze. That was the only warning he got before the next words that came out of her lips made his heart skip a beat.
Sienna who was humiliated by the nobody stood up. Her eyes fell on the little devil hiding behind Kai's back. Rage quickened her blood making her wolf threaten to show. She lurched towards the table and glowered at Lila.
" Come here you little slut. How dare you? Do you know who I am? What are you doing here? you dare choke me? You dare make me fall? Come here bitch!" Fury roared through her mind making her froth at the mouth with each word she spoke.
Kai sat back afraid of what Lila was going to do. " I am sorry my princess. I didn't mean to. It's not my fault. You see, his highness exhausted me to the bone until I could not move. I fainted in the throes of passion. I beg your pardon, my princess. "
Kai gaped at her lies while his wolf hollered in laughter within him. Kai could see him falling to the ground, beating it with his paws at the way he was laughing. ' Shut up dude. Stop laughing at me!.'
Oh but Lila was not done just yet. She even added further. " My king. Please spare me. Was I not good enough? I am sorry. I will be better next time. Whichever position you like, I will practice more. My king, save me."
This was the ultimate killer blow to Sienna's pride. She turned midair as she jumped up aiming for Lila's neck. She was seeing red. Her brownish-whitish wolf wasn't small nor big. She was of the moderate frame as compared to the rest of the people in this part of the country.
However, she could be considered an alpha in other smaller states. This made her powerful to some extent. Kai's wolf who was initially hollering in laughter became alert. ' Stop her, right now.' He didn't have to say it for Kai stood up and threw Sienna's wolf away, making her hit the wall.
She stood up trying to attack Lila once more but with Kai protecting her, she could only whimper and submit.
" Get out. I shall summon you once I am done with this." What he meant was that he would sort things out with her once Sienna was gone.
Of course, that wasn't what Sienna understood. She thought that Kai was summoning her to warm his bed again. She whimpered in pain as she stayed on the floor. Her cyan wolf eyes looked watery but she didn't forget to glare at Lila as she strode out.
Kai cursed in his head. Uugh. He dug his own grace again. Yet, how was he to know that inside the silent girl laid a sly wolf and a mischievous bunny? He wanted to sit back and laugh but he couldn't with Sienna whimpering on the floor.
" Shift!" Came the command, and it was enough to make the changes happen. She shifted and used the blanket that was covering Lila to cover her naked frame. She sniveled from time to time as she stood before him, eyes lowered and face teary. She had a pitiful look to her.
Albeit the emotion-inducing look she had, Kai was neither moved nor affected. The only prominent feeling in his heart was irritation and annoyance.
" Come here." He called for her. She walked up to him and stood by his chair.
Kai gestured towards the chair and she sat immediately understanding the silent order. " Why are you here? I thought I asked you to stay away from me?"
She looked up in disbelief. He was going to assume she wasn't just humiliated? If not for the fact that he was using his power to suppress her, she would have yelled at him. Despite her displeasure, she swallowed down her anger and spoke.
" I came to apologize. I know that you are entangled with my family because of the venom in your blood. This is something that gave me a chance to be closer to you. I am sorry if it made you hate me but I will never regret it.
I am not here to apologize for poisoning you. If time was turned back, I would still do it just to have you. I wanted to apologize for disrespecting you. I am sorry for making decisions for you."
Any gentleness that Kai initially had in his gaze was wiped out by her words. This was a south topic for him. It was not only a betrayal but one of utter disloyalty. She had the guts to remind him of this fact and claim that she would do it again.
Was the woman stupid or something? How did she expect him to love her after that? He had a lot of things to say to her but his train of thought was interrupted by her words.
" My king, what was that little whore doing in your bed? Aren't, you afraid that she would hurt you? Besides, if you feel lonely, I can always satisfy you in bed. " With that said, she stood up and let the blanket gather at her feet, feeling bold.
She walked towards him and straddled his hip. What she didn't notice was the disgust in his eyes as her hands made their way towards his face. He didn't let her touch him. Since she decided to bring herself to the cage, then he was willing to make her a slave.
" Listen to me you two-faced bitch. The little girl you just called a whore, does a pretty good job of satisfying my needs.

He was disgusted by her reaction to his threat. Sienna was wet from his chokehold. He stood up and threw her off his lap. Get dressed and disappear before I really kill you on impulse. This time, he let his power suppress her until she felt breathless under its pressure. It was the only thing that broke her out of her fantasy.
She stood up and rushed out of the office shifting midway. She wasn't going to stick around to be insulted. Though she had pretended not to be hurt, his words had dug a hole in her heart making her whimper in pain. Since she couldn't fight it, she had someone else to vent her anger on.
This was her thought before disappearing out of view. Kai banged the door after she left feeling the rage in his bones. ' If it's any consolation, our little angel is something else. Don't you think so?' He heard his wolf comfort him. Kai broke into a peal of boisterous laughter as he recalled the sight of Sienna eating the floor. He should reward the little bunny. He thought as he went back to work.
