Chapter 21 - The Hunters Of Aliron

Chapter 20

Looks like we're going to Marseille, France!

As I was taken back to existence I immediately informed the whole group about what I had witnessed and the flag of France on the old fashioned building. Instantly all of them looked astounded by the information they had just received.

"Why the hell would the old headquarters of ALIRON be in France?" asked Elijah.

"I don't know but at least we found out where they are hiding!" I shouted.

A smile grew on my face knowing that maybe we did have a spark of hope in overthrowing ALIRON after all. My abilities were evolving and progressing which was a great improvement to have, knowing that we were about to go against an immense society.

"Jamie is right, guys. Now we have a lead and we're going to take it!" Layla cheered.

"Good job Jamie!" Aanisah added.

Then I turned to see that Hazel had a tense expression. I shuffled towards her and asked her a question.

"You doing ok?" I asked her.

"Guys I need to tell you something important," she yelled.

Everyone's eyes were on Hazel as she told us about her experience and the way she was able to dominate her powers from getting out of hand. I could sense that Hazel was hiding a vital piece of information but I decided not to ask her yet.

"Guys move away. I want to try something," she suggested.

We walked to the end of the room in the kitchen while Hazel stood in the centre of the room in a meditative state. She breathed in and extended both of her arms out. Shockingly all the pieces of shattered brick and glass started to levitate and travel back to their original position. It came from everywhere going into position while flashes started to illuminate around Hazel. After a few minutes, the room was fully assembled. Hazel grinned and seemed like she was exalted.

"I did it!" Hazel cheered.

"Ok, that's impressive work, Hazel!" Layla announced.

Hazel and me were learning to train these powers but I still felt like a slice of me knew that this could be too much for me resulting in something catastrophic.

"Ok well, guys we have to get to France!" Aanisah mentioned.

"Jamie, do you know specifically which place we need to go?" Layla questioned.

"We have to go to Marseille. When we're there we need to find a church called Mont St Rosaire de Paris," I explained.

All of them looked clueless regarding what that church was but for some reason, I knew exactly where to find it as if the necklace's memories had been transferred to me.

"Let's get packing!" Layla shouted.

As I went to the bedroom with all my belongings, I sat on the couch and looked through some photographs I carried with me. They were of me and mom when I was an adolescent. In one I was celebrating my tenth birthday. I looked so happy not knowing what the future held for me. Tears started to trickle down my cheeks on the thick paper causing a watery puddle to take place.

"You doing ok?" asked Elijah. Immediately I dried my tears away and made up an excuse.

"Yeah, just umm allergies" I lied.

Elijah chuckled so loudly that I was surprised that Layla did not come over just to strike him.

"God, you're a bad liar!" He quietly said.

Elijah came by me and sat on the couch giving me a reassuring smile. A bitter memory came by about Alex.

"Yeah, umm I was just feeling homesick" I lied again.

But this time Elijah didn't say anything; he just gave me a nod.

"Well if you need anything, let me know. I have to pack up before Layla shrieks at me!" He explained.

Elijah walked by his bed and started packing some of his belongings up including that silver chain he always kept by himself. I knew that the chain had a memory and I ached to find out what it was about. Inside my pocket, I brought out my phone and texted mom which hadn't been for a while. Mom wasn't able to text me a lot now because of the purge starting but we were able to slip a text now and then.

I wrote that I was doing ok but I was going away to someplace for a while just for a refresher.

Instantly, she wrote back saying that she loved me and that I had to text her every day. It made me smile to know what an amazing person she was. Next, I put all my stuff in a big rucksack and some essentials I needed. Elijah also provided me with a pair of blades to keep with myself just in case and a gun with a couple of small bullets. The normal things a fifteen-year-old kid would have to use!

"Let's do this!" Me and Elijah said as we stepped out the door.
