Chapter 3 - Dance off, Bro!

I was so upset by the unjustness. What a horrible man! If it were just for me, I would walk away, and probably go home. But I somehow got the feeling that this has happened to others. I was very sure that a couple dancers had their dreams crushed.

"Fine!" I shouted with anger in my voice. "We'll do this the hard way." I took a deep breath in and closed my eyes to channel my powers.

As a sorceress from the North Forest Clan, I am not limited to only one power source, as all the other clans are. All the power sources are mine equally: fire, water, earth, etc. With earth being the largest power source at hand, it is where I start to collect energy from, uprooting it from the ground like a tree.

I open my eyes and I know, without having to see my reflection, that they glow a deep amber. They will do so only for a minute.

I can tell I am freaking people out. This is confirmed by the looks on the six men's faces. I know that they can feel my aura and the power that surrounds me. I smile at them. I snap my fingers and the music playing throughout the building stops. I pause. Then I snap my fingers again, and all the lights go out.

I smile. "It is time to show off some moves!", I think. I snap my fingers and the music stops. After a moment's pause, I snap my fingers again and the lights go out.

In the next five seconds, while the tension builds and confusion and slight panic begin to set in, I use my magic to transform my clothes to a different outfit. Then I snap my fingers and the lights come back. Confusion was still rampant.

But all eyes were directed to me. If the outfit didn't catch their eyes, then the lighting I was controlling did. The only light in the room, besides the spotlight I had trained on me, was the soft glow illuminating the stage.

Directly in front of me, the kingpin vampires' group of six were all staring at me. But of the six, I only really took notice of two of them. The tallest guy from the group of humans (with the dark hair and the nice smile), and the vampire kingpin.

Mr. Nice Smile (as I dubbed him), looked like he got electrocuted, and stood with his mouth agape. Meanwhile, I had the satisfaction of seeing the kingpin vampire so enraged that his face cycled from white, to pink, to red, to a bluish- purple faster than any chameleon could ever accomplish.

Naturally, I was well aware of what I looked like and what I was wearing. My Victorian style corset was a bright and rich red. The boning lining not only placed an emphasis on my chest, but also made it look bigger. The detail was a series of black hand-made lace roses. Their blooms open towards the viewer.

My underwear was the same red as my corset. While the black fishnet stockings could be considered too modern, I felt they worked, as after all, it was the white, ankle length, heeled boots (also fashioned in a Victorian style) that tied the entire thing together.

As far as accessories, I had a pair of gold studs in my ears. Each golden setting holding a small diamond. Around my neck was tied a strip of black lace, about an inch thick. The lace lay flat against my skin. I had made it into a choker. On the middle finger of my right hand, a ring consisting of gold and a deep red ruby sat.

And finally, attached to the back of my corset was a bunch of feathers. The feathers were red, fluffy and flowy, but they were cut so that they wouldn't be too long.

I snapped my fingers and the music came back on. But of course, I was in control of the music just as much as I was of the lighting. The opening notes of my song of choice started.

I made sure to choose a song that was jazzy, sexy, intoxicating, just a little vampy and of course, easy to dance to. As I started to strut my way to the stage, I exaggerated my movements making sure to blow my audience a kiss. A happy and engaged audience was the best kind to have.
